okay....first, only slide into 1st base only to avoid a tag (you see the 1st baseman come off the bag to catch the ball. Second, why was tht coach pissed off??? and Third, THERE IS NO SMOKING @ BALL PARKS NOMATTER WHAT FIELD!!! Whoever posted the video put in the comments that they're banning smoking in some outdoor parks, and then asks what the hell is happening to this country? I'll tell you what's happening...they're CLEANING IT UP!! Smokers have no more rights, and it's a great thing. Even though it will never happen, I think it would be great if all tobacco products were made illegal.

Here's some interesting info: when they tried to ban cigarettes in some prisons, it lead to immediate rioting. In WW2, soldiers would pick used cigarette butts out of gutters to smoke, and housewives switched to pipes because of a lack of readily available cigarettes.

In this situation it was a retarded move to slide into first, however in some situations when the first baseman has to leave the ground or come off the bag for any reason, it's a good idea to slide into the bag to avoid catching a quick tag.

i think sliding is wrong. i never slide to first, what i do is dive to first. like when your in the outfield and need to make up about 6 feet of ground in like half a second u dive, thats what i do to first

Yes dumdittydum that is correct. when the pitcher covers, you always want to slide head first because the pitcher has to bend down and make the tag and in the mean time the runner gets friggin' killed or mamed you idiot. NO they don't slide into first unless you have lost your mind!!!
