  • oh, my netbook is asus 1005pe...regards

  • So there is possible to instal more than 2gb ram? I red somewhere, that it suports just 2...

and for replacing 1 with 2gb ram, you should just go to bios and save the change, nothing else.... I got this computer pritty cheap, so, what would you recomend me to make the specification the best as possible? regards

  • WTF is SSD..???

  • That netbook is as old as the hills! I hav my 1011px :)

  • 6 gb ram is perfekt

  • i only installed memory, not ssd

  • I have just done this to my eee pc 900 and it wont start up now...? the lights come on but no screen...??

  • So this is how i install more RAM?

  • anyway to replace the screen for this where would i go

  • cheers. don't finger that ram now

  • Whoow my EEE PC 1005PX dosen't look that crappy

  • Nice screwdriver.

  • Well, I have an Asus EEC PC Netbook and bought the 2gb (I have 1 gb) and followed instructions. When I charged the netbook, it wouldn't start! Can't that machine take 2gb? I don't understand why it won't boot up....switched back to 1 gb and it starts up.

  • @Chicago48 Hi.. Im not sure if you still need the answer, but in order to Use more than 1 gb you have to upgrade the windows starter version that properbly was on your computer to " windows home version".

And if you upgrade to more than 2GB then you should consider the 64bit version of windows home..

    Sincerely Peter.

  • @delevero2 According to the Microsoft website, Windows 7 starter should be able to use 2 gb.

  • I did check their site and nada on how to gain more useability. I have had several netbooks and only running 1GB n got better performance than what I'm seeing. However, some of my issues did indeed have to do with my internet connectivity. @ the time of my last post Sprint was upgrading their network to 4G. My Acer netbooks were able to adequately run a graphic intensive video editing programs good enuf when I didn't or couldn't use my desktop. Just seems like a gip. Thanx 4 responding tho.

  • LOL I remember the first time tryin to upgrade.. I just shoved that chip right it, cuz I didn't know xD

  • I recently upgraded my Asus EeePC dimm memory to 4 GB but only 2 GB appear as useable, any suggestions for how to gain more useable memory. The performance is unimpressive and really haven't experience any significant gain in speed. Very disappointing. I've installed it correctly as it 4 GB DOES properly shows up in the BIOS and in the system properties when you boot into Windows. However, videos buffering still crawls. My Acer performed better with only 1GB of RAM. Please advise.

  • we use these on school. slow as hell

  • hello do you know if i can replace the ssd with a hard drive ? i dont want the ssd cause i dont need speed i need space. thanks

  • @vmmc2 no, they use ssd to conserve room. there won't be space in your netbook for a full laptop harddrive

  • i have same asus but i dont have voice

  • hi guys i need some help for my Asus Eee pc series model 701. when do i start sorry for my enlish speaking ^^. i reformat my notebook coz its has a deepfreeze that cant open its console after i reformat it it went out that my hard disk 4gb went down or meaning to say its has no free space on it i was so confused why its happens after i install a windows xp pro. pls help

  • mate iv got an eee pc 900a & i wanna put a 16gb ssd but can i install win 7 on the ssd before i put it in the netbook,iv got the eee pc os & its crap-its for my daughter who finds that os hard but she can operate windows no probs-anyway can i do that?

  • where can u buy upgraded ram??

  • is there any way to replace my 16gb ssd with real hdd?

  • @Dominic0403 ssd is 100 times faster

  • No anti static strap and when handling the memory modules he has his fingers and thumbs all over them !

Use anti static precautions and handle the memory by holding the edges of the circuit board and try not to touch the chips or contacts.

  • i just bought a 101mt..no RAM seems to be compatible for it!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for making a nice, simple and informative video!

  • no offence but that ssd is probably more expencive than that notebook

  • Haha yeh it probably is :D But it's worth it!

  • you say that as if its a bad thing.

  • @Jettisawn1 no but its not worth puting it in there , just put it in your dextop and put a seagate momentus xt in the notebook + that shitty atom runs slow slow slow so no use in installing a ssd in that

  • @Jettisawn1 p.s. y know what ym talking about , y have a aspire one d250 , and installed 2gb of memory and an intel 80gb ssd but the performance of that cpu and integrated gpu was so shitty that it just did not care , youtube still worked like crap .

untill the new amd and intel dual core cpus foe netbooks arive , there is no point .

y got a 13" notebook with i3 after this netbook fail and runns more smoother

  • Dude ur the man, That was G8T. To the point. :-D

  • CRUCIAL!!!!!

haha awesome! I love stuff from you guys!!!

  • How about showing a video of upgrading the 8GB SSD on the Asus 1000.

  • I have 1gb, would a 2gb make it a lot faster/better?

  • Yes! Thats double the speed and all

  • Yeah made a pretty big difference on my 1000HD

  • Thanks for this video; precise and to the point.

Now I'm trying to install Win7 on my new Runcore 64Gb

  • that voids the warranty

  • Is that the 900 or 1000 series?

  • Would be nice if the guy explained now large the memory and mini-SSD he installed is. Is there a 1.5gig ram limit? what about the ssd?

  • Can't speak for every EEE PC but the 901 uses DDR2 667 or 800 RAM. 2GB is the effective limit largely because it lacks the power to use applications needing more than that amount of RAM. Any SSD that is compatible can be used, which is best found by googling the model for forum reviews. There's no size limit on SSDS, only your wallet :p

  • Great video Crucial, really helped me understand the technique :)

  • Way to use a magnetic screwdriver during computer repair.

  • way to know that Only Spinning disks are magnetized

  • thanks

does it accepts any type of ram (ddr1 or ddr2) or it needs a special type ?

  • DDR2

  • That seemed simple enough. Thanks for posting.
