@phillyflash43 oops, I just noticed this caveat in their warranty: "This warranty is applicable only to faucets purchased after December, 1995 and shall be effective from the date of purchase as shown on purchaser's receipt."
You do not have to take the cartridge out if the hot is on the right side when you turn the water back on.All that is required is to turn the centre part (brass) on the cartridge 180 degrees and then the hot is on the left. You do NOT have to take the cartridge out on the 1225B to reverse the hot and cold.Good luck and have a good day.
Thank you dispatcherbob1, this is a great video!! I had a hard time fixing my Moen 4600 faucet for a while and you don't know how much I got dinged by my wife lol. I called 1-800-Buy-Moen and asked for the interchangeable part 1225 and the lady who helped me is shipping me a one time courtesy replacement part. If I am the original house owner, all parts would be covered under warranty and I could have asked for one more since there is another faucet that feels like it is about to go bad Thanks
TY Bob,just finished replacing my moen cartridge on my bathroom sink, was a snap with your helpful video.TY>I called up the 800 number and they kindly gave me the U.S. Moen number and called them and got a free cartridge
not your fault.. i had lime scale n rust in the hot water tank and it was replaced but not before all the crust filled up the kitchen faucet and i took cartridge out and blew out the lines but didnt know it was rust n crust and took me 8 hours..lol
the 1800 number makes you wait 10 minutes and then i found out hes never repaired a faucet before.. hes not an expert hes just a call centre.. they know nothing.. no help... RONA in canada is very helpfull and lots of free parts.. dont call 1 800
@san379 Sorry for any problems, the video shows how to simply repair the faucet, the 800 numbers I have are for free parts for your faucet, not to connect to a faucet repair specialist, many people who have viewed this video have called me direct and I have talked to them, personally, and helped them to repair the faucet.
I've been living with a faulty cartridge for 10 years! Now I find out how EASY it is to fix and maybe Moen will send me a new one for free! Thank you, does not express how grateful I am to you, dispatcherbob1, for making this video!
Great video. The 800 # for Moen is for Canada, not the U.S. Tried to get a free replacement, but no such luck - perhaps it's because ours was pretty old. 800-289-6636 for U.S.
@JohnTysonCR Shouldn't make any difference those cartridges are still around, 1-800 BUY MOEN send me a picture of cartridge if can, should be a "1225 B" IF SAME AS VIDEO.
there are 2rubber stoppers on the sides. My old one only had one left. I can't find it inside. and I can't get the little clip to go back on. Any ideas would be welcomed
Same here. Great video. Full information from someone who talking like they know what they are doing, not people who THINK they know what they are doing. Thank you for showing me how to take it apart (thank god its an easier one). Fixed our leak and saved a trip or call. Thank you Thank you!
Very helpful video... even down to the very last few words. I had a flow problem with a newly installed faucet and lived with it for months. It turns out the aerator clogged up during testing. I cleaned it up and the faucet started to work without problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have to agree with other comments.. I have been looking for weeks for a descent video for this Moen faucet and yours is the best... thanks for posting.. thanks for saving me a BIG plumming bill.
If the hot and cold are backwards, you don't have to remove the cartridge. Just turn the stem 180 degrees. Do not wipe the grease off. If the stem moves too easily, you forgot to install the small washer on the stem.
Nice little video. I have tried to do this to my faucet as it has gotten way too hard to turn on and off. But it is stuck and your video just confirmed that I was trying to open it up the correct way. I will try again and this time I will pull harder. My trick will be to put he handle back on after removing the "keeper" and see if I can get that thing out.
Thank you for posting this great video. 612 - go twins....
those cartridges can be a pain to get out ive had to replace two in a kitchen faucet in the past 8 years.. the last one (happened today) broke internally.. cheap
Thanks for your video. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the cartridge out...it was stuck in there and wouldn't budge even with extreme force using pliers. I got a moen puller but those brass ends just ended up breaking. I'll have to resort to using a plumber. :(
The faucet of choice for the King of All Blacks!

The website states: Proof of purchase (original sales receipt) from the original consumer purchaser must accompany all warranty claims.
Fortunately I still have the plumber's receipt for the install in '91 :)
It just states "remove and replace kitchen faucet - moen/spray" ...hope that's enuf for them!

I did call the 800 # and they sent me a new cartridge! You saved me over $20 at Home Cheapo!
You have to be the original owner purchaser.
DO NOT pay for the shipping, they say standard US Mail is 10 days, I didn't pay and still got it within 3 days via FedEx.
