What unit in1/34? I was by some really really weird paperwork mix up ended up in HHC 1/34 running the supercets. We got into that nice firefight up by 585A on tampa in between taji and balad. Nothing like have a spector gunship looking out for ya!!! attack attack attack!

this isnt target practice, these rifles arent used as sniper rifles, so firing at targets at this close range, with that many rounds, so fast, is not going to improve their aim

no it wont, for aimed shots he isnt holding the rifle corecty, the butt isnt in the shoulder properly and his head is moving around so he isnt actually in a correct aiming position, add this to the fact the rifle doesnt exactly have "sights", this isnt used to aim ith, its pointed in the general direction of where you want the rounds to go

First off, it's not a rifle, it's an M249 SAW machine gun. Second, it does have "sights", that triangular thing on the top back and that thing sticking up in the front. Third, the more they fire the weapon the better they get at controlling the recoil so they can put more rounds were they need to.

A M249 SAW is MEANT to be fired like that. Its near impossible to shoot a gun like that accuratly, so the Army, Navy or whatever has a HUGE surplus of these bullets. And you're complaining because the British don't have them. Tell you what. Do a good job, and we keep your asses from getting whooped, and we might give you a couple of M249's to have fun with.

ok, clipnotes history lesson, 1776 is basicly the year independence day happened as congress adopted the declaration of independance. However that whole civil war (look up the word civil, it means people from the same country and same nationality fighting) was british colonies fighting to become independant from britain. So brits fighting brits, americans technically didnt exist at this point. Going back in history your country is made up of foreigners basicly.

compared to .50 BMG ammo @ ~$5 and up depending on ammo type, or the cost of 25mm Bradley ammo (expensive) then yes a buck a pop is pretty cheap. I have a Remington 742 carbine that shoots .30-06 bullets which cost about a dollar apiece.

temptit is right. that ammo didnt even cost a penny of your tax dollars compaired to where everything else goes. and even so 200 rounds of the ammo he shot is probably like $5. The reason is that they have SO much in storage and get SO much every day the dollar value is incredibly low. You do realize that the military has so much reserve that they could have invaded iraq on it. It just costs the money to replace it all.

The MG shot by Animal Mother in FMJ was an M60E4, the individual-wielded variant of the M60 machine gun. . This awesome soldier was shooting an FN M249 Minimi. Just a plain' ol' box holding the belt. Also, props to KMK for enduring a two-year deployment.
