Yes he may have started two wars we couldn't handle financially, yes he had tax cuts (yes in the long run that doesn't make sense but wouldn't you rather pay less money to the government that isn't doing it's job right?) and yes a good portion of his decisions weren't popular but hey he could pass a bill eh? He was decisive he could get what he wanted done. And if I'm not mistaken Obama has recently taken interest into his works as well.
