Does anyone here realize how much money the government could be making if they just legalized herb in all 50 states? Our current debt would be cut in half if not more. Legalize and tax it. Although, I believe herb should be much cheaper than street prices if it is legalized. I'm talking you pay $50 for an ounce of kush, $25 for half o, and so on.

Regardless of weather or not weed is or should be legal, it's still a gateway drug. People get excitement out of 'breaking the law' and if you legalized it they would probably just move onto something else stronger and cheaper(heroin). I'm not complaining though, I smoke weed every day. If weed did become legal, I highly doubt it would be any cheaper than it is. The government would probably start selling nickel bags for 10 and dime bags for 20.

Regardless of weather or not weed is or should be legal, it's still a gateway drug. People get excitement out of 'breaking the law' and if you legalized it they would probably just move onto something else stronger and cheaper(heroin). I'm not complaining though, I smoke weed every day. If weed did become legal, I highly doubt it would be any cheaper than it is. The government would probably start selling nickel bags for 10 and dime bags for 20.

So if you think that cannabis should be illicit, do you think alcohol should be illegal? Tobacco kills hundreds of thousands of people a year and it is the most addictive substance out there, yet people have the right to choose whether they want to ingest it.
Hemp also has many uses including alternative fuel, it can make 4 times the amount of paper per acre of lumber without cutting trees down, its high in omega 3, makes rope, clothing etc and can also make more jobs too. Research hemp

Heroin and cocaine are heavily processed to become stronger and more effective. And YES coca leaves and opium poppies are safer than heroin and cocaine, but i wouldnt reccomend doing any of the harder stuff. But regardless of the your arguement of the "its a plant" thing, cannabis is far safer than heroin cocaine and alcohol. Alcohol causes one to slur words, affects your motor functions more, and changes your mood dramatically. Cannabis simply relaxes you

There have been zero known cases of marijuana overdose. Alcohol overdose is a very easy level to reach. (you can die from alcohol poisoning). Even Tylenol it is relatively easy to overdose by comparison. The punishment for "non violent criminal" marijuana users is disproportionate to the crime. A similar number of years as a child rapist or violent criminal?! Police should have better things to do with their time, and our prisons are overflowing

Legal classification of drugs should be based on scientific studies of harm and addiction, not opinion.
An addict can no longer make an autonomous decision. An addict no longer has a choice (ie. cocaine is highly addictive and harmful)
We are talking about autonomous decision makers choosing to be intoxicated by marijuana instead of other more harmful and addictive legal drugs
(again: marijuana is scientifically rated less harmful and addictive than many legal drugs).
