I like the message but never can understand how we start off by claiming we are awareness itself, and not in fact, an organism experiencing awareness through brain activity within an objective universe. I listen again and again and don't catch the continuity of logic allowing the premise to be true and worth building a word-view on. I'm all ears and will undoubtedly listen again and again hoping to hear something I've missed.
@Explorer766 Probably most people on a spiritual search have had experiences that feel more true and deeper than thoughts and concepts. Its about experiencing whats here now before the concepts and world views. What if consciousness is not in fact personal? Maybe our brains are more receivers like a radio. What is the experience of being here? The first and really only thing we know is true is that there is some sort of cognizing or awareness that is here. Keep checking it out, if it appeals.
@Explorer766 (Cont.) You can also notice the various thoughts that come in, from trying to make sense of the awareness to what you want to eat for lunch but notice that there is something (or nothing) watching those thoughts! Something fundamental. I know when one watches a video like this it seems to be about a philosophy or world view. But it's before all that. Hope that helps.
@spceman Thanks. It seems like you are describing perception itself as having some type of existence beyond the perceiver. I don't see how this suggestion can get beyond a huge "maybe", of course to be followed immediately in equal by "maybe not". Believ me, I'm not shut case about ANYTHING.
@Explorer766 That's great you're open cause 99% of humanity is not. There was Korean Zen guy who used to say "only don't know mind!" Meaning to stay open and not know conceptually. And I certainly don't want to position myself as an expert on this stuff. I've been into it for a long time and have had openings and a slow thinning of my egoic self, but I'm still pretty attached to my thoughts and drama at times.
But yes part of this is the sense that consciousness is not individualized.
@Explorer766 cont. Currently it has not been scientifically proven but who knows. i appreciate your sense of not wanting to believe this stuff just cause someone says it. That's not satisfying. i want to feel it in my bones so to speak. For me it comes back to my own experience. I watch teachers and have worked with some for support but as the buddha said "be a lamp unto yourself." Hasn't been easy though. Deeper understandings seem to happen on their own timetable.
@Explorer766 Cont. 2. (man, i am going on aren't I?) Part of the difficulty is experiencing things in a fresh way, without the overlay of so much conditioning from how we were taught to view ourselves and the world. Lately I've been enjoying Rupert Spira's expression of taking us through what is our actual experience. You could try rupert 1 and 2 from stillness speaks if you feel it.
my volume is at maximum level and it is still on the quiet side. A little difficult to follow in a space with the slightest background noise. Thanks for taking into account.

@Explorer766 this is not meant to be made into a new world-view
