  • press 7 lots, GUITAR SEX!

  • really nice guiar, you've built a beautiful frankenstein.. haha. no really, i love what you've made with this guitar.

  • Man, I really don't know why you say you were making mistakes, your playing is awesome, and congratulations for your guitar, you've made a really beautiful frankenstein.. haha no really, i love it! great sound ,great player, great guitar.

  • What type of wood is this guitar made of? Alder or Basswood?

  • I'm on a Nightrain and I'm ready for crash and burn ... great soundin' axe bro!! And nice playin' also!!

  • whas that a korina?

  • @OlleandOlofmusic Hi, no, it's not a Korina (I don't like those). Epiphone don't seem to make this type of Flying V at the moment, I think it's modelled on a '67 one but I can't remember.

  • @OlleandOlofmusic its a flying v factor x 67, I have that same guitar and customized too... mine has 2 EMG's (81 & 60) and has a silver pickguard

  • I've never seen 496+500 with covers

  • haha nightrain ^_^ guns and roses

  • that thing is sexy, love the 496R & 500T pups mate, does well with the heavy stuff, getting a V soon.

  • I have a guitar just like that. it's awesome.

  • I love this guitar!!!

    And Mr Browstone too!!!

  • i need that guitar lol

  • i just got my epiphone flying v and i can't really hold it that well because the body weighs less than the neck and it slides down a lot. Do you get that problem as well or is it just me?

  • Yeah - I had that problem, I fixed it by moving the knob the strap attaches to from the end of the V to the back of the body - it helped a lot with the weight distribution - it's a real pain otherwise! Hope that helps!

  • thats a really nice flying v, but the only one i can find is the 58 korina. where did u get urs?

  • Thanks, I got mine from a guitar shop in London - can't remember which, but that was 10 years ago anyway! I'm not sure Epiphone make the '67 style one at the moment, they only do the Korina I think which I personally am not a fan of (but each to their own of course!). I'm sure you could pick up a used one off ebay or something.

  • whats the bigest difference with better pots?I want my mexi strat to sound as good as possible, would a new switch, pots caps and saddles help?

  • I would think that sadles would make the most difference out of those three. Of course pickups are going to make the biggest difference though! But after pickups your nut and bridge will have the largest effect on how good your guitar sounds, so maybe replace those saddles and get a nice nut :)

  • already got me a graphtech nut, overwound front, lipstick mid and PAF bridge pickups, but I think the guitar would sound alot better with the right pots and some orange drop caps,I think the switch is dying on me,so maybe a switchcraft,do switches or jacks have any effect on tone?

  • lookup creation audio lab redeemer circuit. it's real easy to install. i've put it on all my guitars. it's 100 bucks. so not a bad price for what you get.

  • ncie poster

  • Michael Schenker would approve!

  • are you still playing through the SS marhsall. the difference inn the quality of your sound is enormous. (((sighing)) i gues changing the pots and caps does make a big difference. too bad cause' its a pain in the arse! BTW overall your guitar sounds fantastic. PROOF a flying V can be every bit as nuanced as an LP or SG. I play an LP and Im experiencing some envy!

  • hi dude, good job, thanks for your information, you got a powered sound, I wanna change my pickups, 490r & 498t in a Custom Les Paul for the 500t & 496r, I think thats pickups have the most attack and power to do all kinds of music metal, jazz, dirty and clean, really? it´s a versatile pickups? I´m right? Sorry for my English, I´m from Spain, thanks for your time...

  • I'm not sure the 496R and 500T are best in a Les Paul. They come standard in a Les Paul Classic and a lot of people take them out as they don't have great tone. They are cool for distortion as they are high output, but they lack a bit of tone as they are ceramic rather than Alnico. Maybe something like Gibson Burstbuckers would be good?

  • Switch your neck pu for a burstbucker pro or a 57 classic plus. you dont need to change the 489t its had the same output as a 500t and it has better quality sound. this will give you a "hotter' sound. in a les paul you want the alinco magnet pickups, becuase they will offer all of the subltle nuances of timbre the les paul has to offer. hope this helps
