  • Just to let everyone know ... this is not the "actual" Copperhead Road line dance choreographed by Steve Smith. I am not sure where this dance came from but it really frustrates us line dancers who get bombarded on the floor by this other dance. If you want to learn the real dance meant for this song ... "google" Copperhead Road line dance by Steve Smith and you will get many links with the correct dance steps. There are also other videos on youtube with the correct steps.

  • lol we had to do this in p.e. today. its alot harder than it looks!

  • I listen to mostly hip hop and rock but I really enjoyed doing this dance at a country club.

  • Learned this dance at work. Cause we teach line dancing at the bar. So much fun!

    well done ladies

  • i'm in the air force and we just had a ball last wek. after the formal part was over, we had a dj and this was a song he played. the dance sounds awesome with 50 something people, all with hard soled shoes, stomping at the same time on a wood floor.

    great song/dance

  • I just got my workout for the day...dancing along to this song!

  • Down here in Texas, instead of doing the first two kicks, we do a side step and slide to the right and a side step and slide to the left. No telling how many different versions of this dance there are out there!

  • @hyoctane23 yeahh that's how i learned! most of the people who do it do it that way too. at least at red river.

  • @DayswithDanii Wild River...haven't been there in ages. I was in Midland last year on business and we found this country bar there. They looked at me like I was nuts when I danced to CHR like this.

  • @hyoctane23 I was about to say the same thing.

I was a bit thrown off at the double straight kicks, ahaha. It took me a min to get what was different.

  • aaaahhhhhh!!!!!! LADIES where are the cowboy / cowgirl boots!?!!?!!

  • @myartfuldodger1 - i never wore boots when i did this dance at the club back home in SW oklahoma. i'd go out dressed up in heels and skirts and get down on this dance. and never spill my drink.

  • This is the version I learned too. I never saw the other one until I saw it on here! BTW...great job girls...I sure couldnt do it in heels!!!!

  • @CJWillysBabyyy agreed

  • This isn't the one I'm familiar with... I go to Bob's in Elkton Maryland and theres one where we hop on our right leg and jump kick and stuff.

  • been 10 years and 20 lbs since i did this dance, thanks for posting it...I had forgotten how to do it...great way to lose weight and get in shape!

  • This the closest to how the dance should be done, but that is only a matter of opinion.

  • ahh thanks it helps to see a small group instead of the entire floor.. it's so simple but when there's 30 people doing it it looks so much more complicated lol

  • lol anyone up for some raquetball. that looks like my local family y's raquetball courts lol
