My "Chavez" comment was a bit of sarcasm. Venezuela is an example of a country becoming a police state. My comments about the press being harassed and TV and radio stations being closed are examples of what occurs in a police state (as in Venezuela). The Patriot Act has not led to anything of the sort. If President Bush has created a police state, then he is doing one heck of a lousy job silencing his critics, and arresting his opponents.
