  • @77angelescobar Only to show off. :^)

  • stumbled!!

  • @ciaoskater Thank you! :^)

  • im more impressed from how he is drawing all of that upside down

  • @uremeshi23939 Oh, thank you, uremeshi. Just a thing I do to be a showoff. :^)

  • IT'S THE CREEPY DUDE FROME SPONGEBOB!!!

  • Oh, I'll have to really watch the show sometime. :^)

  • This would make a great page-a-day calendar.

  • @WatchdogGoon You know, I've thought about doing that, but those things are surprisingly expensive to produce. But some day... :^)

  • @StefanGBucher woo what is your job right now ?

  • @SuperGloogle I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, and writer. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher hey everybody did you just see that ? mr stefan just replied to my comment wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @SuperGloogle He is such a nice guy, that Bucher. Also handsome and good with animals. (Happy to cause so many vowels, SuperGloogle. :^)

  • This is great. I love when people do free-form art like this. That's how I generally do my work too. You never know what you are going to get. It's like a magical little surprise every time you draw. :)

  • @cellophanegirl Exactly! Usually I watch myself fail at drawing something before me, but this way I create and it looks exactly as it should. :^)

  • Did.. did you just do some random little squiggles on a paper and then look at it and MAKE UP WHAT YOU WERE GOING TO DO NEXT ON THE SPOT? :O

  • @sweetangel1927 That's how I do 'em. It's true. :^) I've tried planning ahead, but it never really works.

  • hey... what kind of pens do you use?

  • @revstevodevo I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • hash slinging slasher?

  • @dawhofan Oooh! Yes! I like that, dawhofan! :^)

  • looks like it should be in angry birds...the revenge

  • @wizzlestick111 Ha! I'd love that, wizzlestick111! As it is, I am working on a Daily Monster app for the iPad/iPhone. Stay tuned! :^)

  • Epic ! I love it =D

  • @mohameded17 Thank you very much, mohameded17. :^)

  • I LOVE HIS SNEAKERS!

  • @taylorf21 Thank you very much, Taylor. The Monsters pride themselves on their fancy footwear. :^)

  • Nigel Thornberry

  • @JeffBayus I like it, Jeff. :^)

  • Great work, I am slowly getting through all your videos.

What pens do you use for the solid black inking? I can find anything here that create such uniform black fills as yours...

  • @Courtlat1986 Thank you for the compliment, Courtlat1986. For the solid black areas I use Sharpies or Tombow markers. The camera makes the blacks a bit more uniformly black. The actual drawings still show the individual lines pretty clearly. Which I actually like and try to preserve in the clips as much as possible. :^)

  • what tool was that after the toothbrush? a little air blower?

  • @gabriellekofe I think it was just a drinking straw.

  • @EdgeZombie It used to be, but I didn't want to give myself a brain hemorrhage. So the secret ingredient is a duster can. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher Aaah, that's pretty clever! :D These monsters are amazing!

  • @gabriellekofe It's a can of compressed air from the office supply store. :^)

  • nice, you can even draw upside down amazing

  • @boringgrass Thta's something I really purely do to show off. I saw architects do it (poorly) and how people reacted to it. So I thought, well, hell... I can do THAT. :^D

  • man, you're talented!

  • @aforarifa Thank you, aforarifa. You're very kind. :^)

  • I want to be you.

  • @racehellish Well, hold on now, racehellish... you do realize that you'll bump your head into stuff all the time, and that you'll hardly ever sleep?

  • Now ill start to doodle, this is amazing. Whats more Extremely amazing is you did it upside down. Did you see how I used amazing twice? It is know triple amazing (+1) :)

  • @Troublemasta Well... a triple Thank You to you, Troublemasta! I'm glad you like the Monsters! :^)

  • The best part is you did it upside down. I cant even write my name upside down.

  • @timelapsecommathe The only reason I do all this upside down is to show off. You really shouldn't encourage me. :^)

  • What kinds of markers/ pens do u use?

  • @VolleyBallLuvr11 I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • @rdrgdz4 Agreed entirely! :^)

  • Wow you're fast

  • @feededededee Well... I cheat. :^D

  • WOW AMAZING. It is like you you get everything perfect. I read in your other comments that you doodles alot? Like did doodling help/start these drawings?

  • @kildrecheese kildrecheese! I never responded to your kind comment. I'm so sorry! I did doodle a lot as a kid and when I was stuck in long classes or meetings. It didn't lead directly to the Monsters, but it surely helped. :^)

  • Fantastic! At the start did you blow the ink to get that effect?

  • @jonbehere Exactly right. :^) I'm glad you like it, Jon.

  • awesome

  • @FiendofDA Thank you! :^)

  • It is amazing that you can do this so well, let alone backwards. Goodness. I can't even write upside down/backwards and you can do art like that. Incredible.

  • @baweee1 Oh, thank you very much, baweee1! It's fun to do it that way. Makes the result somewhat of a surprise for me, too. :^)

  • Almost looks like a Vogon from hitchhikers guide

  • @NizzBomb69 High praise! Thank you, NizzBomb69. Good thing he didn't start reading us his poetry. :^)

  • thank you very much stefan for sharing all this great talent with us. I subscribed!

  • @bazytherapper Thank you very much, Bazy! I'm glad you like the creatures. :^)

  • What brand of pens are these?

  • @YaoiRebel555 I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • @StefanGBucher Thank you very much for the information, it's greatly appreciated.

  • @YaoiRebel555 Thank YOU, YaoiRebel555. I get that question all the time, and almost nobody takes the time to say thanks when I answer it. I really appreciate that you did.

  • @StefanGBucher It's no problem. I've been searching for some good pens to buy for my art projects, and I had NO idea which ones to purchase, but thanks to you I have some brands listed so I can just walk into the art store and scout them out. So once again, thank you.

  • OHMYGOD iloveyou:|

  • That's great, shimlaDnB! I'm very happy to hear that! And yes, I'm drawing upside down. :^)

  • i think this one is pretty massive! lol i like his eye-brows

  • And what a popular fellow he turned out to be, too. I'm glad you like him, MassiveKombatSteve100. :^)

  • Muy bueno!!!

  • Gracias, delpozosantiago! :^)

  • I like your drawings!

What kind of fine black ink pen are you using?

  • Thank you, SolidArch. I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Prismacolor Premier pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, Sharpies (fine point and wedge tip), Prismacolor Premier markers, and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • wowza.

  • Glad you like it, kawola101. :^)

  • wow thats amazing

  • Thank you very much, lovebug2431. :^)

  • wow, what a great technique that is! Isn't it hard to paint it upside down or does it look better if you do it that way? :]

    I stumbled. (This video) xD

  • Hello accuratesheep. Yeah, it's a little bit trickier, but it does look cooler, doesn't it? I also like that this way the final drawing is a little surprise for me, too when I turn it around after I shut off the camera. :^)

  • cool. I wonder how It'd look if you'd paint one the right way round :]

  • There are a few of those on my site, too. In the Open Source section, for example. And many of the early Monsters are done right-side-up, too. :^)

  • great video

  • Thank you, ThePivotGuy. :^)

  • wow great job man very well done :) i subbed :)

  • Thank you very much, roflcopter6684. I'm glad you like the Monsters. :^)

  • You've gotta be kidding me.

You've got the time to make these fantastic pieces, record yourself doing it, post them on YouTube... AND respond to almost, (if not every) comment?

Can I buy you a beer?

On another note, do you keep each drawing? I'd like to imagine you frame them all and put them in sequence in your house, or in just one room, eh?

  • Oh, you're very kind, Llynok. Thank you. I appreciate that you appreciate the infrastructure stuff. :^) Yeah, it takes some time. But I love doing it. I just wish I had more time to do more of it.

The drawings I keep in plastic sleeves in a series of portfolio albums. The only place I hang my own stuff is in my materials closet. And one tiny Monster print over the bed. Beyond that I can't hang my own drawings. They drive me insane, because I see all the little flaws. :^)

  • very, very impressive. good job!

  • Thank you very much, Dehoqu. You're very kind. :^)

  • SIMPLY AMAZING!!! never let that talent go to waste

  • You're very kind, dcmscheer12. Thank you! :^)

  • Thank you very much, ThatLizardGuy. I appreciate it. :^)

im not creative enough to draw stuff at the top of my head..

  • Thank you very much, tataesays17. That's very kind of you. I bet you can do it, too. It's not so much about creativity as about just starting to put some marks down. As soon as you start you're halfway there. :^)

  • so THIS is how you feel about black people

  • Exactly, joeeatspoopy. The whole Monster series is just my way of getting my racism on. (I do hope you're kidding. I'm pretty sure you are, but you never know... )

It's like drawing straight up is just too easy for you

  • Hi jama463. Yeah, I'm seriously drawing upside down. But only to show off. :^D

  • That's exactly right, mcteal. :^)

  • yeah i draw stuff like this all the time except they're not monsters just people with weird facial features and i use a pencil

  • Cool! Film it, and post it!

  • you must use a lot of ink, dont u?

  • Hello duongxuannghi. Actually, I'm only a quarter into my second bottle in over two years. It only takes very little ink -- a few drops --- to make the Monsters. Now pens I go through a fair few. :^)

  • You must spend a fortune on pens!!! Awesome monster!

  • Oh, they're not all that expensive, bectaaa, and they're the tools of the trade. That's money I spend gladly. (I'm glad you like the Monster. :^)

  • Im really impressed.
