You are wrong hornetobiker, the theory was that no MATTER can go faster than the speed of light in a vaccuum, C. Some particles can move faster than photons in a certain substance (see Cerenkov Radiation) but still that doesn't mean they can exceed C.

I think you are talking about tachyons, which are believed to be able to move faster than C, but this is yet unproven (it's still doubted that they even exist), and even if they can, it still wouldn't disprove the theory. Do some research first.
