I'm wondering about the tuning on the toms on this one. All the demos I've heard of this kit being played have had the toms really high. How do they sound when tuning them lower though. I know it's not a DW but could i get anything similar out of them?

@gibson094 That's a tough one to answer. We just use the Bob Gatzen technique . . .check out his vids on Youtube...VERY helpful

@calebdbrca it depends. i think the dw standard maple and birch from the collectors are the same as the pdp's. but some of the other shells are different.

I actually own this exact drum kit and the price vs. sound is absolutely unbelievable. I put Evans G2 clears on the toms, G2 coated on the snare , EQ4 on the bass (kept the factory resonates). It sounds like a high end kit and even my friend who owns a Maple Starclassic admits it sounds just as good as his.
