@terrygrif Cette valse s'appelle "étoile des neiges" Chanson écrite par Loulou Gastié, interprétée par Line Renaud et reprise par Simon et les Modanais en 1987.
Dear Terry ...the warm and cozy room sets the stage for your wonderful sentimental accordion music. Thanks for sharing the beauty of it all. With love from Canada, Evy
@adysim2 Thank you very much for your kind, if undeserved, compliment. I don't know about the 'skill' but I do enjoy playing this lovely old waltz. It holds dear memories for me. Greetings from Ireland. Terry.
Terry, I think you are a good accordion player even if you had not have formal training. There are many in YT that put up wonderful videos even though they are learner, like ourselves. You have done such great jobs before and I hope you can continue to play and post.
@clarebannerman Many thanks Mike. I haven't put any vids in past year. I began to realise that I really wasn't at the level of most musicians. Now I am more involved in Irish trad sessions around Sligo .... and the odd time in Clare!!! Am enjoying it immensely. Terry
@niciFI Well Nicole I know it's not your kind of music but I am very happy that you liked it. This song is very special for me because when I play it I remember a lovely girl who died too young. Now I want to go to Switzerland and play accordion with the great musicians in the Alps!!!! Hope we see you soon in Ireland. x
@FunStuffAus Thank you for your kind comment. It's great to meet music-loving friends around the world. It's wonderful to have the family enjoy music together. Greetings from the Emerald Isle! Terry
@Therehasbeenan I'm not sure of the origins of this song. I am told by my French friends that it is well known in France. Of course it was a popular song in the 1940's recorded by Perry Como. So take your pick! Many thanks. Terry.
@terrygrif In France it is known as "Étoile des Neiges". :o) But, the original is called "Fliege mit mir in die Heimat". It was composed by Austrian Franz Winkler.
@FromHolbergsTime I seem to have missed your earlier comment Glenn. Sorry about that. I appreciate your kind (if undeserved) comments very much. Greetings from Ireland. Terry.
Many thanks Neil. It's not an Irish tune but it has been very popular in Ireland for many years - especially for people who like a good old-time waltz!.
I loved this waltz and how well you played it I am sure with great feeling indeed. Thanks for this lovely song Terry. I have heard this one before. You have a great touch.
I am particularly glad that you like this little melody Ron. It's special to me in that it reminds me of absent - though never forgotten - friends. I only hope I do it justice.
May your year be full of everything you desire and deserve.
How did I miss seeing this one Terry? This is a beautiful melody and you play it so well. The words are so beautiful. Thank you for this fine performance. Fran
Thank you so much Fran. Research on internet informs me that the song was recorded by Perry Como in the '40's. In my case it reminds me of absent friends so it is particularly close to me.
good accordion players are very rare. you are terriffic. very talented. i enjoyed listening . wish i could give you more than 5stars. god bless, margie
Thank you very much Margie. I appreciate the compliment. However I do not consider myself either terrific or talented - only as someone who enjoys playing even at my basic level. And if it gives pleasure to other people then that is a great bonus for me. Happy New Year - with lots of good music!
How many times have we waltzed to this sweet tune!! Happy New Year Terry and thank you for entertaining us during the year.....good health to you & yours. Wanda
Hi Angela! You can blame the Christmas vacations for my videos being uploaded!! Once back to work I may not have much spare time. But thank you so much for your interest and your kindness. I hope 2010 will be a really great year for you. Warm greetings,

Many thanks Brian. I know it's a very old tune but it's a joy to play. Still experimenting with various couplers to find suitable tones for different tunes. Let's hope for a great (musical) 2010!
Mike, many thanks. You're a real tonic. It's great to get support in this learning process. Sometimes you begin to wonder if it's one step forward - two steps back!!! LOL
