  • When I import the .xml file, it says "some of the files cannot be found." Then the playlists are all imported with no songs in them, and the library has no music overall. How can I fix this and get all my ratings and playlists right?

  • if i do this, will my cover art and all that go with it as well?

  • what about the iphone back ups?

  • Thanks for the video guide. I was hoping that this would also transfer my equalizer setting presets, but I lost them. Does anybody know how to accomplish that?

  • i have a serious problem here.

it wont let me paste my itunes folder. it shows the loading/progress bar and then after 10 second it goes away. please help me.

no matter where i paste my itunes folder it just wont works.

  • thanks for the great "how to"!

  • @RedFishKilla Hey thanks for watching. I'm glad you found it useful.

  • @TechHarvest would this work the other way round, so if i wanted to transfer my itunes library, playcount etc. from a PC to Mac ?

  • Does this transfer apps??

  • thanks i really need it help with that you were a big help thanks

  • @look4judy Great! I'm glad this video helped!

  • @look4judy hi is me again i did everyting in the video unfortunately it didnt work i dont know why but after i saved the music to my itines there was no music ,after that i opend the file and it was just random words and simbols im kind of frustrared bcuz my old mac just died and it took all my music whith it , i still have the flash drive but then again nothing so if you can help me i will apretiated thanks again.

  • @look4judy The key thing is did you transfer the music and not only the iTunes library file?

  • @TechHarvest well i did exacly what you said from mac transfer library to the flash drive cause i dont have a lot of music like you and then on the pc i place the file on my documents ,opened itune click on import library and there was a messege that said some of the files could no b found.i if you think i did something wrong you think i can fix it? thanks again .

  • @look4judy There are 2 things you want to transfer. The library file and the actual music. This video focuses mostly on transferring the library file because that's where all of your playlist information resides. You also want to transfer the actual music too. If the music files aren't transferred then the library file has nothing to access.

  • @TechHarvest well i did exacly what you said from mac export library to the flash drive cause i dont have a lot of music like you and then on the pc i place the file on my documents ,opened itune click on import library and there was a messege that said some of the files could no b found.i if you think i did something wrong you think i can fix it? thanks again .

  • does it also transfer all your apps/ videos/ everything else???? i know you posted this like two months ago, but i need help :S

  • @K0Champ Using this method, you should also be able to transfer your videos. As for Apps, I can't say for sure as I don't own an iPhone.

  • And can I transfer it in pieces using a flash drive? Mine can only hold 2 GB but I need to transfer about 5 GB .

  • @HannahLynnLove Yes, as long as you do all the transfers before you upload it to your iTunes account.

  • Can you do the same thing, but with a PC to a Mac??

  • This was a huge help, thank you. My old MacBook Pro couldn't handle Virtual DJ music video mixing, so I had to get to another computer, this PC is brand new and fast. However I had to do things a little differently. I was able to leave my Mac formatted HD in Mac format. I didn't have to transfer any music. I have 50k titles so it took overnight, but it worked. I used MacDrive 8 ($20) and I'm able to read/write to my Mac formatted drive - until such time I can later reformat, or get a new Mac.

  • @powermixx Great! I'm glad I could be of some help. 50k titles? Wow, I thought I had a lot of music, but my 6500 songs pale in comparison.
