Soundtracks, especially recent ones, tend to each have their own individual style with different influences.

This one blends middle eastern instrumental sounds with chant sounds (Eastern Orthodox or Gregorian chant) in the voices. It also seems to contain a little of the style known as primitivism (noise builds and nothing seems to have the main voice) which helps one get the whole chills down the spine effect, especially when combined with the scene in the film.
