@LaVldaGuapa - I am derailing the conversation when I sarcastically imply well known authorities who have notoriously strong opinions about the obesity epidemic?!?! This is almost as silly as asking if you work for the discredited outfits that claim there is no epidemic.
I am sorry, but this conversation is no longer logical. Bottom line, there is an obesity epidemic; and if you happen to be one of the victims, get educated and get right. You will be a happier person, trust me.
@LaVldaGuapa - Because as a fat person you know very well the problems you have, and that thin people dont have. Deep down you know you dont want to be fat. But anyway, you are right/ I'm wronng...Myself, the National Institute of Heath, the CDC, the World Health Organization, Harvard Medical, New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Oz, and just plain common observations made by millions of people, etc, etc, etc, etc...we are all wrong, and you are right.
@LaVldaGuapa - Are you truly so ignorant as to believe that the WHO, who tracks obesity rates across the world has decided to ignore certain races (sans statistically insignificant outliers)?
And since the WHO and the USA use the same chart for the definition of obesity, are you of the belief that its all just hysteria to make money and "scare people"?
Your observations, I'm sorry to say, say more about your own lack of research.
"[l]oving yourself" is not the same things as accepting and believing lies and distortions of reality- and making extrememly poor lifestyle choices accordingly. Fat acceptance can, I guess, mean loving yourself. But humans either improve or die off due to inadequate characteristics...like obesity. And sure, loving yourself is great- just treat your body accordingly; this means NOT being obese. Really simple actually.
Fat acceptance is an insidous thing indeed. Obesity is The epidemic of our time; but people refuse to believe the vast medical evidence that has shown obesity pretty much equals unhealthy; and that the vast, vast majority of medical professionals think it crazy to believe otherwise. Fat acceptance needs to be attacked for the fraud it is. It is worse than smoking; but it seems to be that people would rather be comfortably wrong than uncomfortably right.
How is loving yourself a bad thing? When people DON'T HATE THEMSELVES, they treat their bodies better. It's simple stuff, really. Being more accepting and less hateful toward our bodies would probably solve our obesity 'epidemic'.
