Thanks to your DeVille series, I have the confidence to replace the rear interior birch panels and all of the putty tape on my '60 Mobile Scout. Someone previously replaced them from the inside, and it looks like crap. Where do you buy your gimp/welt at? I need to replace a lot of it.
Hi Cheapswede, The gimp can be purchased at just about any RV parts place. I have two big rolls of it. White and Beige. You can also visit some of the links on my website. Glad you like the series and thanks for the subscription. Feel free to email me from my website if you have any questions. Hard to answer in detail here.
"I love it when they blow things up in the forest. It sounds so...... real"
I'm all in favor of chipping out a path alojng Upper Bear Creek using hammer drills and bentonomite and stuff. If we had done it all by hand it would have been done by now. Instead we asked for a blaster so we could get ojn to other projects. What fun.
"try putting (making) a "cap" on it above the lens??"
Well the camera was in the shade when I made this. I have tried many things. It didn't start doing this till I took it skydiving with me. LOL... Dang it all... Moral of the story is, leave your camera on the ground when you jump out of airplanes from 2 miles up.
I perfer working in the Winter any way. It's a lot easier to keep warm than it is to cool off, more so when water isn't available. }:-} I like biking and hiking and camping in the rain. Great stuff!
Glad to! Abacus just got another car from somewhere. Probably stolen. But it doesn't need much work -- an alternator, a tune up, and a tank of gasoline and it should be fine. We're sending it to Jessies for a checkup and any other repairs to the timing and such. Then we'll drive out and see you and shovel snow.
Actually that sounds like a plan. We could have you drive up to where I am and we could take my son's car. I'm sending myu son's car to the repair shop for a looking over to see if timing should be adjusted and to have them check compression and things. }:-}
You are both welcome to visit. At the moment nobody gets in or out of the canyon except on foot or horseback, but perhaps come March the road will be drivable late at night or early morning.
Douglas Preston may visit in August. I am thinking of going to East Mojave in April but I dunno. Round-up is the first week of May.

Criffer's alternator will be replaced Monday then I take it to Jessie and then we're all set to go! Only I can't take any more time off from work. }:-}
If Preston visits in August maybe you can drag him to DF this year. In fact I'm glad Criffer got another car -- don't know how he's paying for it since he doesn't have a job.

I hope that it DOES rain again. We need the drinking water and we need dampness to use explosives in the forest.

It was nice yesterday wasn't it?
The air is a little crispy, I get that cold breeze off of Mnt.Baldy. BOy when the sun goes down it's cold though. I'll be glad when winter is over.
