My dad is a lawyer in Los Angeles. Even though I was too young to truly appreciate this show at the time, I loved watching it just because it reminded me of him. And of course it was his favorite show too!
Hmmmm, used to watch this when I was young and wanted to be like these guys.....Only in real life most of the Lawyers I know are crooks who steal.....Nothing like a reality check!
Not Many people know that by 1999 The Los Angeles Law firm of McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney and Kuzak, was taken over by another Law Firm. thay failed to read the small print on the merger (due to the large amount of money being offered) and became known by its Senior Partners Law Firm's name Wolfram and Hart the lawyers where never seen again :-)
I wouldn't turn my back on that retarded guy if I were Corbin Bernsen, I think he sliced off some dude's finger with a cigar cutter in in that movie Dark Man.
I loved this show, but I have to say I saw the first few seasons in reruns cause I my parents thought that the subject matter was to adult for me at the time and I had a bedtime
the trunk closing was for some reason is my favourite part, that was the show to watch back then.... too bad there are no more theme songs for tv shows anymore, when you hear these tunes they take you back in a time warp, like mom wrapping up everything for the evening just to watch this show
@mandolinroad They dont even make intros anymore, man. Havent you noticed? If you're lucky, you'll get a 30 second speedy summarising of the cast with some generic music on it, but most of the time we just get a title card - 5 seconds maybe.
Really sad... but hey, the medium morphs into what the next generation wants, sadly we dont matter after we've reached 30. not to the advertisers.
I was little when that show was on. I loved the theme, especially when I heard it in a King of Queens episode! Am I the only young woman who thinks both Jimmy Smits and Blair Underwood are hot in the show and look better with age? Thanks for the upload.
@justboycrazy45 I was in love with both as a kid and yes esp. Blair looks better today than he did back then. Jimmy's all right now but he was hot then
0:05. This is actually one of my earliest memories. My mother used to watch this show all the time and I can actaullay recall that car lid coming down with the plate on it :)
i used to watch this when i was about 14 and it used to make me feel all grown up lol. i wanted to be blond, handsome and manly like the blond one when i grew up. 2 out 3 isn't bad i suppose. lol
But it HAS been released... you only need to make an overseas order: it's not the same as the case of it never having gone public, and forcing you to ask for the series directly to whatever company holds the rights.
I love this series and patiently waiting for its DVD release. I have been waiting for more than 15 years to see the series in its entirety and sadly, it is one of the shows not on DVD yet...Ally McBeal is another series i want to purchase on DVD.
You're right, Kingslice. This show slid downhill in its later seasons. They sexed it up and concentrated on new, younger characters. Were they trying to attract a hipper audience or did the established cast simply not want to work so hard any more? Best episode: the one where Rosalind Shays falls down the elevator shaft.
I used to love this show in high school and it almost inspired me to go to law school.
Unfortunately it really went downhill the last few seasons when half the original cast left (just after the season when the firm split up and half was suing the other half) and the replacements pretty much sucked. Still the early years were still great.
I really wish they would release this series on DVD. I can't even count the number of people I knew in High School (during the late 80s) that were addicted to this show like I was! It would be an EXTREMELY profitable venture for them to release it... (I'm very surprised they haven't done so already. Does anyone know WHY?). I for one would buy the entire collection of seasons, and I know I'm not the only one who would! ;)
I read a comment posted a while back by someone stating that the reruns were not watched by a lot of folks, and that once the show's production run ended, viewers watched other shows. This may be the reason why it still isn't out on DVD. Therefore, if the show were to be released on DVD, it probably won't attract a lot of buyers. I, too would love to see this show come out on DVD soon, but I'm afraid it's not going to happen.
Corbin Bernsen. I saw him on a game show a few years ago on GSN and he looks like he has even less hair than Alan Rachins nowadays. lol

People comparing this to Law & Order? Both shows may have "Law" in the title but otherwise they're entirely different.
Interesting to realize both shows were airing together on the same network for about 4 years, though.
