My elementary school did this play. They had a 5th or 6th grader stand in front in the middle of the stage in his robe. He was flanked by 2 female students playing male guards. They undid the tie to his robe exposing him in only his underwear to an auditorium full of people. The whole audience was howling with laughter while he stood there completely red faced and embarrassed beyond belief. I can't imagine why he would have willingly volunteered for the role.
I know a friend of mine who just did basically the same thing but the difference is that he actually did that in front of our school premises during book parade.....I just can't imagine of how he feels after doing that.
It's hard to imagine that he willingly volunteered for the role knowing what he would have to do. He must of had some psychological aftermath to deal with after that. Plus we all know how cruel kids can be. They could have made him costume underwear to lessen his embarrassment but instead they had him exposed in his tighty whities in front of a packed auditorium howling with laughter. I don't think he could have felt good after experiencing public humiliation of that magnitude.
Another thing that bothered me is that it was schooled sanctioned public humiliation. It wasn't like one of his friends pantsed him in the schoolyard. The teachers and his parents came to the conclusion that it would be perfectly OK to subject an elementary school student to this type of public humiliation. I always wondered what they were thinking.
Unfortunately I wasn't there for this.... But my friend Jonah was the emperor..

I can't imagine the guy doing that!
I know a friend of mine who just did basically the same thing but the difference is that he actually did that in front of our school premises during book parade.....I just can't imagine of how he feels after doing that.
