I'm not gonna say we had the music. Instead, I'm gonna say we HAVE the music! From Big Bands to the '80's, we HAVE the music. I'm up 'til 1 and 2 o'clock in the morning playing music such as this! I brought my children up on this music. Unless they pass it on, I'm feelin' for what their kids will be listening to.
Whenever I listen to this song, it is as if I am 10 years old again. The innocence of youth. A much simpler time of our lives, which unfortunately passes all too quickly like the sweet seasons of spring and summer.
Carole's "Music" album from Dec. '71 is one for the history books, along with her other '71 classic, "Tapestry". Never has there been an artist I admire and respect so much. She is forever the best.
Carole King Is So Terrific. Her Album "Tapestry" Was My First Album I Purchased.
I Will Always Have A Soft Spot For Her And Her Music. She Made Me feel Independent And That I Could Conquer the World. I Was Very Young. She At 1st Only wrote songs her 1st one at 18 was sung by The Shirelle's her 1st #1 hit came out in 71 and her album Tapestry Stayed On The Charts For 6 Yrs Now Do you Think you Will Ever See That Again! Dated Neil Sedaka & Has 2 Girls. She's Terrific Now & Then!
@speedoflite1 There's an awesome radio station in Minneapolis that plays all this old stuff, deep singer/song writter cuts from the 70's, 105.1/105.7 FM....
she is a true master song writer. this song make me feel good every time i hear it . it even feels good to sing along. i will share this song with my daughter she is 16.and really enjoys older rock music.
Wow...funny how many people just can't be happy no matter what they have. If America is the WORST country in the world...move to a communist country and see how much you enjoy it. I happen to think it's the greatest country in the world. My husband came close to giving his life up so people like you could have the freedom to complain about how bad this country is. I love this song because to me it brings back memories of a happier easier time in this beautiful country which I am so proud of.
Very well stated comment. This is a song that radiates joy & takes us back to those wonderful days when artists had something to actually share. We are blessed with so many riches living in North America & it is nice to bask in musical memories that I still find inspirational.
Today is Sept 5th 2009 and I and my twin sister and my best friend are celebrating birthdays! My fraternal twin and i were born on Sept 7th 1964. My best friend was born Sept 6th!
What a beautiFul expression of your love for this song and I appreciate it veRy much..thank you for your time posting this to never be forgotten♥ God Bless You and yours...
I never tire of being amazed at how a song I loved 30 years ago feels as new and fresh today as it did then. This is one of those songs..timeless.....
Correct. I always knew (from what I learned) that Music was her follow-up to Tapestry. Just out of curiosity, how come you liked Music more than Tapestry? (Don't worry, I'm not trying to make a big issue out of it.) ;)

In the midst of all the glitter rock and heavy metal that was emerging during the early 70s, Carole King projected creativity and genuine talent.
