its scary, the costumes and instruments in the first dance are so similar to those of the tribes of luzon. compare by searching "ifugao" here on youtube, the ifugao are one of the highland filipino tribes on luzon island. the bamboo dance itself resembles the royal "singkil" dance of mindanao in the southern philippines, and even the national dance is danced between bamboo poles (tinikling). seeing this, i'm convinced there's a link between the peoples of Nagaland and the Philippines.
These Naga remind me of the native of Taiwan. The bamboo stick dance and their native wears. On a political side the Naga are fighting for their independence. It is not know in the popular western media. The Naga have more in common with east asian then with the Indian culture. The Indian government is suppressing the Naga independece movement.
@BorneoUnited - m , hey there's this theory , not very sure about it but , says that, we were a migrating group 4m China . some settled in the northeast part of india and some went further down!! ( indonesia, and all!) and some came back . i kinda find it true , coz the old traditional ornoments that we still use are made 4m sea shells and even clothes are designed with them, there are tales 4m our fore fathers of how we came 4m the sea , and some 4m the northeast!
Nagas in Sanskrit means snakes. It is given by the vedic aryan for Nagas people worship snake. Kiratas on the other worship phallus stone. watch the video "Connexion of Mongolia-Kirat:Revealing the Mystery of Origin of Phallus Stone Worship"
After the arrival of vedic aryan, these 2 culture of worshiping stone and snakes were taken in by the vedic culture. Today in Hinduism, phallus stone(Shiva Lingam) is adorned with snakes around it , representing Shiva with snake around his neck.
Now you know why Shiva is seen as destroyer in Hinduism.
Kirat=Indo-Mongoloid=Gurkhas
According to Dr Yadubamshi, during the period before the hymns of the Yajuveda had been composed but later than the Rig and Atharvavedic periods, a non-Aryan god was fused with God Rudra. This non-Aryan god, he adds, was worshiped by some tribes in the Himalayan valleys, including the Kiratis. (Shaivamata :The Shaiva Sect)
