@Afgh4nSoldier hey i dispatch for a rural county with only 3 patrol deputies it could take at some points 45 minutes to an hour for them to get on scene running code (lights and sirens) depending on the locations. Every road here is either dirt or 2 lane through the mountains except a US highway that cuts through the extreme northeast of the county for about 2 miles so 5 minutes could be good time depending on the location

Now is a prime example of "stupidity." This guy simply over-stepped the boundaries of the law. He shlould've kept his butt in his house. He probably would have been more help if he had made notes to help him describe the perps. The dispatcher had already informed him that police officers were enroute. The perps coming into his yard is probably not going to stand up in court. This is one time that a 9-1-1 tape is going to literally send him to prison.

Notice how countries like Switzerland, who can shoot someone that trespasses upon there property has a low crime rate and a great economy. The only people who should be regarded as stupid, are those who think it is wrong to defend yourself. The police took way too long to get there and by the time they came, another criminal would have gotten away.

Legally he is not obligated to even do this.....He was immediately cleared of any charge by a grand jury, including a police officer who testified at hearing that they were charging at him....get facts straight, dummy
