Ram's being a successful businessman got nothing to do with his being oblivious to priya's space in the cupboard. Most Indian men live at home with their parents and their mom groom and guide them regarding adjusting with their partner and making them comfortable. In Ram's case their's no woman who could guide him in that sphere of life.

@vsc94: I had the same reaction. How can he be such a successful business man and yet be so dumb? Can't even gauge how many clothes fit in a couple of shleves given how much space he has used and how meticulous he is. Too dumb to realize that the woman needs some hanger space? Also, as successful and sohisticated as he is, he is too oblivious of what and how much he eats! How dumb! And Priya's sarcasm is completely lost on him! In an attempt at some humor, they are making him too stupid.
