I use a rawlings 11.25" it forces me to use my hands and the transition is lightning quick. Its customized with cuban colors and flag well worth the $300 :)
I have a 12" A2KDW5 and I play ss and it is perfect for me something about having that extra half inch on the glove is just kind of reassuring mentally. I also just got a 11.75 inch Rawlings HOH pro mesh and that works great. If u can just get used to the little bit larger glove you'll be fine
No one can tell you what model to buy, the first thing when buying a glove is how does the glove look to you, then try it on and see hoe it feels, one thing I can tell you, pitchers have a close webbed glove to prevent players from seeing the ball and your hand, I hope this helped you.
Hey please help i am 13 years old and pretty good size for my age and i need a good outfield glove!!! I was looking at a mizuno GCP79S 12.75 inches but i dont know if its a good enough glove- $160. But please help because Im a fan of rawlings but none of them "clicked" in my opinion- or they were too expensive. Im looking to spend from $100 - $170 give or take a few bucks but PLEASE RESPOND I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've used 11 3/4 inch gloves for infield and had great transitions coming in double plays at short or just routine grouners. Im currently using 11.25 now. Loving the video!!!
Hi I think a 12" or a 12.5" glove should by fine for the outfield it should fit your eye meaning you should like the way it looks, there are several glove by different companies out there for $100 or less, good luck
When it comes down to it Middle infielders u wanna use a 11 1/4 inch or 11 1/2 inch glove but nothing over 11 1/2 unless ur playin 3rd base then u can use an 11 3/4 inch glove but nothing bigger than that
Im 13 years old and im small for my age 5'0 not big or anything and i was wondering if my glove is to big. I play 2nd base and SS and my glove size is 11.5. Its a wilson A500. Ive had it for about 3 or 4 years and its still in good shape. But do you think i should get a smaller glove? PLZZZZZ REPLY!!!!!!!!!
Hi, the middle infielders always have the smallest gloves and this is to helped them transfer the ball out of the glove and to the intended receiver, there are pros that use a 10 3/4 inch gloves, so in my opinion I would suggest you get the smallest glove that feels good to you, I hope I have answered you question.
@mgsolis9 Hey man thanks. I just got a glove today. Its a Heart of the hide. Its 11.25 and it feels great. I used your microwave method. It works great.
I use an older Nokona glove, model AMG 175 Buckskin not Kangaroo, Kangaroo tends to loose its shape on like the Buckskin and Cowhide, Nokona makes several good gloves, you have to put it on and see if it looks and feels good, Nokona's range from $50 to $300, try on 11.25" to 11.75" for shortstop, I hope this helps you.
Interestingly, people who don't get enough reps of fielding practice, don't realize the HUGE benefits of a small glove. I've played third, caught, and played centerfield, had a minor league contract offer too...before I really knew anything...and playing with a small glove you're not only quicker getting the ball out, you're quicker getting your hand and body to the ball, so you get more chances.
@Lilbate11 ive been trying it out at home in the back yard. been letting the dogs bring it back haha. my release point is off. i might try it out at a practice. maybe someone will help me.
This is a very accurate video when it comes to size. thanks! I would really llike to see a video on all of your gloves and a quick review on them. If you can ,thanks
PLEASE respond, last year i used a 12 inch nike keystone gold for shortstop and second base for my travel team. This year i grew 4 inches(im around 5'7) and now i play third cause i can make great throws from there. I felt like the 12 inch was to small because third gets harder ground balls and line drives. I bought a 12.50 nike keystone but its for softball and it feels like a 13 inch glve, it looks no diffrent than a baseball glove and i broke it in with a baseball. should i use it for third?
I'm 6' 3" and I play 3rd base with an 11.5" glove so I can get the ball out of my glove quicker and the short stop and 2nd baseman play with smaller gloves than mine.
@perillivolcomha i play high school ball, im 5'8 and i play third also. trust me, you should be using either a 11 1/4 or 11 1/2. right now i have rawlings gold glove thats 11 1/2 and it is one of the best gloves i have ever gotten for infield. in my opinion even an 11.5 is a bit big but if you like big gloves then i would suggest 11.5 for third.
hey man wats the difference between a baseball glove and a softball glove? i don't have a clue about baseball so i don't know if a softball glove will work for baseball. my brother's hand is around 6 and a haft inches. whats the glove size would you recommend? thanks alot please reply.
@dandyboykb Softball gloves are usually bigger than baseball gloves and have a larger pocket, Baseball gloves are smaller and usually are heavier, I don't know what level of baseball your brother plays, boys that play travel–ball usually have 2 or 3 gloves because they play different positions, if he's just starting out get him a glove that he can use both in the infield and in the outfield but make sure it's not to big for him, you don't want the ball getting lost in a large glove.
i have a 11.50 inch wilson A2000 and it is perfect for me but it is hard to break in it has such tough leather i want to try the microwave but my dad does not want me to risk it.
@ihairston5 my son has that same glove, If your dad opposes the microwave use either the oven or after lubricating it you can place your glove in a black plastic bag seal it shut and place it in the front window of your car with the windows rolled up it should get hot enough to soften up the leather then you can use the ball mallet and start breaking it in. good luck
I love my Nokona, this is my second one try not to purchase the Kangaroo leather it seems to lose its shape rather quick, try your at the store before purchasing it. good luck
If that size works for you thats fine, but dont forget as an infielder you have to get the ball out of your glove to through out players at 3rd and at home, I would rather see you use a 12" glove in the infield, thanks for the reply.
