Many MANY thanks to Flaggius for posting these videos. My hat is off to you sir. You have taken me back a LONG time. To the person who says they know where they were when they first heard this, I was with my guitar teacher who tried to teach me "I don't believe in love". Absolutey PSYCHED to see them in August in Boston! Thanks for bringing me back to my youth, 20 something years ago. This shit is timeless!
Flaggius, I have always considered "The Ryche" to be one of the greatest Metal Bands of all time, and I have ALWAYS considered "Operation Mindcrime" to be "THE GREATEST METAL/ROCK ALBUM OF ALL TIME!"
23 years later - I STILL LOVE IT!!!!
You have posted and DONE GREAT WORK, promoting Queensryche's videos and music!
@Phrygiandom I remember buying the tape (yes, the tape) back in '88 (Mindcrime was my introduction to them) and listening to it obsessively. Then I saw them live in November 1991, with seats pretty much front and center; it was awesome.
This whole album is just remarkable, seems like every time i get to this track i have to throw it on repeat a few times. Such ambition and quality from start to finish, Tate turns in a masterpiece that in the state of todays musical abomination..... this is beyond epic. 1988 the year concept albums reached a pinnacle along with iron maidens seventh son of a seventh son. Never again will a band write such greatness. Embrace the moment here.
the band would do sooooooooooooooo much better if De Garmo rejoined. I know lots of friends who wont bother going to see them now but would if Chris was back in the band. I feel pretty much the same, the band just aint the same without him. Dont think the band realise how much popularity they would regain if it was the original lineup again.
where was this concert? is it possible to download , complete video material from somewhere? please answer, i so like Queensryche LIVE performance ???
I saw them in Houma, La. about 6 month's ago, we were told at the show that Chris Degarmo is working as there sound man. Geoff's son-in-law is now playing rythym guitar.
A guy with DeGarmo's talent should be playing guitar not flying business jets. Such a shame. It would be one thing if he were a stunt pilot or doing something that few others can do . . . like playing amazing leads.
What impresses me most is the co-operation between these 2 great guitarists, no doubt. Jsut got to love DeGarmo anyway, one hell of a wonderchild of this genre and Mike Wilton´s not too bad either. What comes to Tate, OMG! Love his condition one hell of of a sporty guy! :D
Just awesome band, awesome music and great idol to youngsters to follow too as well. Ryche 4 eva!
EMI went bankrupt at the time he left so they had to use their own money to finance the remainder of the tour, which was the Hear in the Now Frontier tour, 1997. I also heard that Tate became seriously ill during this tour and they had to cancel concert dates for the first time. Hear in the Now Frontier didnt sell very well either, so I guess that's why he left. The band members have cited burnout and a desire to pursue interests outside of Queensrÿche as reasons for his departure, I heard.
@Billy7373 Hmmm,. seems to be a pattern here a pilot you say, that's what Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is doing now too. For British airways none the less !

How I would have loved to have seen them they toured supporting operation mindcrime. I f remember correctly they were touring with Metallica.
edhombre 1 year ago
@edhombre this tour was better, they were the headliners and suicidal tendencies was opening for them, so they had a better staging and time to play.
