Normally you don't want to stand in door ways, but in this case, it was the right tactical decision for a few reasons. 1. The house is small, you don't want your team "wrapped" around the corner of the house. 2. The breacher needs cover for the brief seconds after he hits the door, as well as the operator deploying the distraction device. 3. The entry team already has weapons aimed into the room; Can stay tight and enter much faster, vs snaking around the house.
So my wight years in a communication unit, setting up satellites makes me eligible for a swat team for my PD.. UHHH NOT even close.. I learned some tactical training in the army, but not much.. I have learned more from the PD

I agree with everything up to your second paragraph... a .22 should not be considered a gun? It can reach up to 1800 fps. Its a pretty wild round too.. you can get shot in the left leg and the round could end up in your heart.

I support the police as long as they are fighting real crime, but I do know that during Hurricane Katrina the police were consolidated and sent out across the city in dry neighborhoods to enter people's homes without warrants and confiscate any firearm even if it is completely legal and not give the owner any receipt or compensation, that is thuggery, and I hope that the police see what is happening.

Not only do felons with firearms face Federal charges (10 years), they face State felony charges (5-25 years, depending on the state law), and another strike (Which could put them away for life if it's their third strike).

If you were to live in some neighborhoods I service, you'd be begging for a tactical narcotics team to clean up. Being a firefighter/paramedic in Miami and part- time in Ft. Lauderdale, I've seen more gang shootings, stabbings, and retaliations in my 2 years than you will ever see in your life. Not to mention responding to medical calls for drug overdose. I know the valuable services that SWAT, TNT, and ICE bring to our community. I'm just sorry you cant see as clearly.

Wtf the way they claughtered up on the door to go in wasn't really professional... If the guy actually had a weapon they would be lined up and would get killed. Since the guy first to go in can't back up because of the crowd on the back. Either it's them or I play too much video games...

Normally you don't want to stand in door ways, but in this case, it was the right tactical decision for a few reasons. 1. The house is small, you don't want your team "wrapped" around the corner of the house. 2. The breacher needs cover for the brief seconds after he hits the door, as well as the operator deploying the distraction device. 3. The entry team already has weapons aimed into the room; Can stay tight and enter much faster, vs snaking around the house.

Do a tour in the army if you really want to be on SWAT. Thats pretty much the best thing you can do if you want to get on SWAT.

So my wight years in a communication unit, setting up satellites makes me eligible for a swat team for my PD.. UHHH NOT even close.. I learned some tactical training in the army, but not much.. I have learned more from the PD

mind you if they get their inteligence wrong (and the do from time to time), you end up with trashed house. swat are there for a reason, but like any powerfull weapon, can do a lot of damage in the hands of fools.

wow this is crazy I used to live in spokane, but they rarely did raids back then. Good stuff. There's another video on youtube of some old guy trying to runaway from a cop in spokane it's pretty funny. Sprague was horrible for prostitution...I think they also busted abunch of members from the Hells Angels their in Spokane. The swat looks like they got some new gear as well...

As mentioned by previous posters, the reporter - who has covered police and military activities for more than 20 years - knew it was a flashbang but put it in layman's terms to make it easy for everyone to understand. Not everyone is up to speed on what a flashbang is.
