  • my dog tries to bite me when i put my arm under her, even to pick her up.

  • ya great trick but like my dog...... he is to fat to do a bow, everytime i try to do it... his bottom just goes like... Boom... on the ground

  • @LewisBryanJamieson duh it's a girl

  • @MissMissy1997 she's working in a shelter.

  • I have an extremely difficult time getting my girl to bow. She just backs up to get the treat. I have tried holding her belly and doing it against a wall neither of these work. Any advice on how I can get a successful bow?

  • If yousay bow she might bark

  • @AllisonEatsRainbowz yes its a rhodesian ridgeback. i have a dog exactly like this but he has barely any white on his chest and hes darker. they are VERY smart!!

  • i tried this but she only moved her head down, not her body...how do i change this?

  • ok... i have this kind of dog and when she is scared she has her ears back and she starts to run aaway from you

  • @isarahrocks what's the breed called?:)

  • @Camyzz rodesian ridgeback

  • @isarahrocks thank you!

  • my dog lies down butt first my problem is that even with my arm there she sits with her butt first and pushes down my arm

  • @MissMissy1997

    omgya!!!!! D:

  • what type of award given to the dog???

  • ridgebacks are really funny. too much energy sometimes.

  • tail between the legs is a trait common in rhodesian ridgebacks. mine does it often, without being frightened or submissive.

they're silly great dogs. get one! :D

  • This is an easy way to train a dog.. By sharing this tip, we can personally train our dog with our own hands and I believe its an advantage.

  • My dogs can't do it, they either just sit and wait for the treat or just lay down, i think they're just too bone idle to learn lol

  • @chibijessjess Try tying a leash to rump. And when you tell him to bow and he tries to down pull up his rump. If he breaks just keep trying. :)

  • THANK! YOU! SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!! i have been wanting to teach my dog new tricks for a long time now

  • Thank you so much. It took me 10 days to get my puppy to bow.

  • Hehe I've taught my dog to bow with its paw going back too! :P

  • OK some of the people that are commenting need to calm down. Ridgebacks are notorious for tucking their tails in, just like the one in the video. So breath people! LOL

  • look at my channel for tricks for your dog :)

  • thank you !!!!! my dog alllllways goes down with her back end first , soo the hand trick reeely helped!!!

  • The dog isn't scared!..... He is just Nervous its his first YOUTUBE video!!!!

  • Pooe dog! Look at his tail tucked right under, obvious sign his scared!

  • That is not really a BOW, they should turn their head to the side, look in my videos at the end, we also trained it without treats

  • OMG i hear a dog wimpering

  • no lol its and Rhodesian ridgeback

  • what dog is this? great dane?

  • 1. Teaching the bow cammand like that isnt right as soon as youll have the bow theyll bow every time they are asked to lie down (past expirience) 2. that is not submission that is fear when a dog is submisive they usally lie down, ( but that poor dog cant )or look away and lower thier heads

  • your quote would be very understandable if you didn't make any spelling errors

  • yup,how i tought my dog to do this trick i got him all excited with playing and suh then i just playfully put the treat on the ground and he bowed,i did it over a few times a he got it in about 5 minutes...this lady bugs me the way she teaches dogs,my dog seemed to learn a lot better and faster when i did it my way,her way seems to be a lot more challenging and confusing then my ways

  • The dog isnt scared. She's just automatically protecting her private parts

  • dude, the dogs not scared she's being respectful or submissive to her owner, like someone else said.

  • my jack russel is too crazy to listen to me cause she is so active.......... and she goes crazy over the treats............ XD, i tried

  • a way to get over the treats is to use her fav toy like get her wound up to play catch and after everytime she does the trick throw the ball when she gets back do the trick again and then trow the ball and repeat it till she learnss now my dog would rather catch a ball then have a treat

  • you sure she's a girl?

oh wait that's her tail cous she's scared like hell...

  • my dog dnt understand :(

  • gwaah....

    you need to practise.

    it isnt harder than that.

  • she so scared!!

  • ha! at first I thought the dog had a huge boner!

Good thing I read the comments.

btw Tramador7's comment was absolutely retarded!!!

  • I thought the same until I was like, "Where's the tail?" lol

  • that was the point!!!!!

  • thats exactly what i thought! i am stupid!

  • the dog isn't scared he was just lime "sup" the whole way through

  • Okay, first off people, look at the dog in general, not just the tail. A tail between the legs does not just mean scared or nervous. It can be a sign of submissive, or respectful behavior. The dog is showing no further signs of being scared. Those would be ears back, wide eyes, bearing teeth. This dog is not scared, and the woman obviously knows what she is doing.

  • @charmed6057 thats not its tail between its legs...

  • @charmed6057 some people also don't understand when a dog puts it's tail between it's legs when eating or drinking it is them showing a sign of respect to their owners....take a look at a pack of wolves...the pack leader never puts it's tail down when eating but the ones ranked below it do it is a sign of respect

  • That dog was so scared!!!! i will have to make a new word, Hmmmm... (Thinking) i got it!!!!

    Megasuperterriscared!!!!

hummmm still not enough, maybe another one... Hmmm (I think my brain is dry) got it again (thought)

    megalosuperjumongoslyterricared!!!!!!!!

Buuuu, still not enough, well i think i will try again after the surgery i have tomorrow bcuz of thinking so hard, Oh well

  • freak

  • poor little doggie. it was terrified

  • Dog wasnt to happy.

  • my dog looks like hes scared alot to, its because he was abused till we rescued him, probly the same with this girl

  • the humans its not a boss on dogs the dogs its a free animal and we can do it everything i have 21 dogs

  • I can see why this method would be harder on males!!

  • aww, a rhodesian. Lol, looks like it didn't work well though.

  • your good

  • wat did they do to the dog, it's scared the tail is tucked it

  • I know. But I think he is just upset.

  • Better to use clicker method and shape the behavior rather than physically manipulating it. It is more fun for the dog. Check out some of kikopup's videos for training using operant conditioning. Search kikopup.
