  • i don't think the image matters when you're this good.

beats any nicely packaged players who doesn't deliver the goods.

  • someone should upload all of walter's victories in one vid. that would be worth a lot to bowling.

  • no-one even come close to wrwjr. he is the greatest!!!!

  • kinda hard to look at bowling at say hes number 1 right now, that hes the face of the pba. you look at golf and they have tiger, look at baseball and people love a-rod, we look at bowling and then theres walter ray.

  • I agree, and the best part is, there is no steroids or drugs involved in bowling....or is there? :S

  • nothing wrong with that, but i wish there was more of a bigger name or someone we could look to to represent the sport. i mean honestly any person could care less about this guy

  • You obviously have no character whatsoever. What a classless comment.

  • @BowlerScott ive got all the respect in the world for the guy. but if he was walking down the street no body would even know who he is.

  • Oh, now I see the context of your comment, and I take back my last comment. However, we have to accept that bowling isn't as popular as other sports (although it was in the 50's and 60's) and non-bowlers typically won't recognize most top professional bowlers. Maybe, if bowling starts to regain some respect from non-bowlers, people will realize just how good these pros, such as Walter Ray, really are. They don't realize how difficult it is to score in their environment.

  • That's true with a lot of the bowlers. I recently saw Johnny Petraglia in a mall and the only person who recognized him was me. There were no other fans swarming around him. Perhaps Earl Anthony and Dick Weber were more recognizable outside of bowling than Johnny and WRW Jr.

  • its not that i dislike either of them. but its just the fact the image isnt there for the pba.

  • @irishpogi I remember Dick Weber made an appearance at my bowling alley about 15 years ago and bowled against our pro shop guy. The pro shop guy put on a good show (he had like 228 or so) but Dick bowled a 300, lol.

  • @RedSharkMan Actually, I mis-remembered that. Weber had the 228, the pro shop guy got the 300, haha.
