@SuperSaxDude101 Jake brakes work by a series of small pistons or actuators placed on top of the rocker boxes, when they are activated engine oil is sent to the piston, the piston then pushes on the exhaust valve holding it open on the compression stroke, they have a switch on the accelerator and clutch, they are activated when the accelerator and clutch is released, and switch off again when either pedal is pushed, they also have a master on switch on the dash.
@airdogg1979 This one looks like a Auto, you can tell by the big handle on the right of the steering wheel, in Freightliners thats the auto shift FNR leaver
No, not really. Sometimes you'll get a cop that will give the driver a fine if he use the jakes in a built-up area. The key is to not make a nuisance of yourself.
Unfortunately the International with the ISX is running in a different part of the country now, so I don't get to see it anymore. Will get some footage if I see it again.
The Argosy is an cabover model of Freightliner truck. And the sound of an truck engine with straight through pipes depends a lot on the size, wall thickness, bends, curved or straight cut, dual pipes and length of the pipes. And with that you will get resonance at some rpm's witch will make it sound a lot harder then normal. As a rule the newer Cats are actually a lot less noisier than the old 3406's. But this is a C16 and at that rpm it's runnin' it barks.
Music to my ears! That's louder then the chip truck that is powered with a 3406E and it has 5" dual straight stacks and i heard they used the same jake heads.

Argosy! What a heap of crap truck.cable driven shift linkage is the worst part.
I've had to replace a few of them cables in my day.total pain in the ass.And they still shift like a POS.
