I Love New Tokyo

So, it's been 3 years since i've seen this video for the first time and i've never forgotten about it. Every now and then I come back here, watch it and am happy from the depths of my soul! I fell in love with Tokyo a long time ago, I've been there 6 years ago and in the meantime I got to see sooo many cities. I found AKL and truly fell in love again, but honestly it can never compete with Tokyo. A little heads up: 2 years from now, I'll be there, rocking your streets- my heart is already there!

Japan is now the 3rd largest economy China just passed them but if you think about it the main commerce is done inside Tokyo so basically that one city is pretty much the 3rd largest economy... Like we have California wich is considered to be the worlds 6th largest economy. Very amazing I have goose bumps when I watch videos on Tokyo, I want to live there almost euphoric living there...

Modern Japan (1867-present) is far from its best. Especially the urbanized Edo (currently known as Tokyo) is a joke. The Edo period (1600-1867) is the greatest of Japan. We were enjoying our life at that time, however, suddenly the brutal imperialists visit the islands and then forced the Japanese to enter countless wars. 0 foreigners in Japan. This is my dream. Multiculturalism doesn't work out in Japan. Please let Japan alone as you did during the Edo period. Thanks.

@shiokan02 obviously isolating a country is not possible in the modern world (1867-present) that we live in today. this is exactly why the meiji restoration opened up japan to the west, to modernize it and bring it up to where the rest of the world was. It was quite an amazing feat that Japan was able to do this in 2 generations and become a major country. If a country was to isolate itself and not deal with foreign affairs or issues, it would lose it's role on the world stage, and Japan wont

Good video. But it's stereotype scenery. Tokyo has more Western style scenery than modern Asian style. Brick and europian fashion buildings (e.g. Tokyo station), Western goods stores and restaurants (and has also world those), etc. These aren't Japanese style and cheap. So they are for citizens and adults, not for visiters and teenagers.

Gotta disagree with you there, mate. Not with what you say necessarily, but with your take on the video. The vid shows almost all new modern "Western" style buildings. You have just perked up on a few temples and things that appear, but that's what visitors who come here will notice anyway. I'm not sure that tourists go to Tokyo station unless it's too see the emperor's palace? Mostly business buildings and the rare brick station. This vid is good representation of Tokyo. Thumbs up.

i think this video shows exactly what tokyo is about - you cannot describe it in words but if you've been there you definetly felt the difference to any other city. Just walking through the streets and watching people makes you feel amazed. Someone who doesn't know the city might think this video isn't special, but if you've been there you'd understand its beauty... can't describe it - tokyo is just different!

I love Tokyo ad will be returning in November 09. It is such a dynamic city operating 24/7. There is so much to do and so much to see-it can be a cultural shock-but, I love it. There seems to be no zoning code and it is not unusual to see a century old temple/shrine next to a modern glass high rise buliding.

It's only a crime if the face is used on say TV, or for commercial gain without the persons admission.

If it's a crime as you say, to record a person face with out admission, then what about all the security cameras on the streets, subways, shops? Are they committing a crime by recording?
