@Aden0r I got a Boss Metal Zone mt-2 and i use these setting to have a similar sound: level=5, low=7,5, high=8,5, mid=3, midfreq=4, dist=7,5. On the amp bass=6 treb=8... hope it help :)
I love you xD I finally realize that learning songs from video lessons are better than the tabs alone. but most tutorial videos suck. but this one was amazing :D Finally starting to get into more insaine stuff.
Hey good lesson but where is the last verse? The part where he starts saying " If there was a die I could live, If there was a single breathe I could take"
Think I found out my problem with that last lick. I upstroke the first hammer on note and then upstroke again after that on the next note I strike, this way I end up on a downstroke again when the riff repeats. I guess my rule will be after a hammer on, play the next note with the same type stroke as the note before the hammer on, that way the pattern doesnt get messed up and u can go fast. Good rule to use? This way the picking can flow I guess? The hammer-on threw me off.
Nevermind dude you started going too fast after the easy parts. Doing that made no sense! And when you read out the frets and strings that didnt help because I cant listen to the fret numbers I have to listen to the notes, but I will just keep going back to the part I need. Would you say alternate pick during those first parts? I know its fast and heavier so maybe all down picking? I get lost on the riff thats high on the frret board because I hit the notes but the altnernate picking mess me up.
Dude nice. Came across this kids tutorial and I havent played metal or learned any bands song in a long time but randomly saw it and started learning this song about 20 minutes ago. His tutorial was pretty damn good but yours how you repeat small licks is amazing because I first have the notes but not the timing and everything and by the 3rd time u play the lick, i catch up. Very very nice. If you know how to pick around, this song isnt hard once u know the notes. I bet none of their stuff is.
Hope the dude that does these is gettin paid by somebody. With as many views that he gets he should to be.If I could make a suggestion though?Maybe also say E or A string or whatever so kids learnig this stuff can learn that as well. Also say 6th string but say,"Hit your 5th fret 6th string or A note E string".Might add a minute to the videos but could help kids learn. These are really great learning tools, wish I woulda had these when I was a kid.Kick ass job dude.Nevermind,I see its on the tab.
These are really great learning tools, wish I woulda had these when I was a kid.Kick ass job dude.
What's up with the flanger? That song doesn't use it. Choppy as hell. failed on count that I could play that song better while shitting out a broken glass bottle
This song is easier to play tuned DADGBD. The 'siren' part at 8.08 can be played all on the 1st sting. No other part of the song uses that string anyway. Lamb of God uses that tuning often so it would not suprise me if thats how its actually performed.
wow................. finally im gettin it:), you are a great teacher because this song seems very hard to play! been trying for over an hour, lol, ive been doing medium level stuff i figured its time to move up , i just wanted to tell you thank you so much for making this video! it helped me out a bunch:) wonderful job! youll be seeing me post this song with me playing guitar pretty sooon:) wooooh!
what settings you guys like on your spider? i like using red insane with bass all the way down mid about 12 o clock treble about 4 or 5 o clock drive at 4 o clock
@hellrambo Try looking up some chromatic exercises and other things like that to build up speed. Do them at a comfortable speed and gradually get faster.
if possible , plz consider making a separate lesson for the squeal .. i beg you.. or beg anyone that can make a proper lesson for the squeal involved in this song...
@dhakagod Squals? you mean the pinch harmonics in the second riff? Search for Pinch harmonic lesson on youtube, there's plenty. Basically you touch the string lightly with the side of your thumb when you strum it to do it.
@Dimeist well, i get the basic theory behind it, and i can do it in the thin strings ... but i cant do them on the low E string and no one even makes a video showing how to do it there in the thick strings...
awmazing lesson im gald you posted this, just a suggesttion and my opioin in further lessons maybe change it to clean setting so you can hear it easiyer might not sound awsome but it would help show the song easyer

im getting the line6 "Spider IV" 75 wats because my bro BUSTED my fender amp well at least its a huge upgrade and it has the laid to reat preset sound whitch im looking foward too, so im learning this song now lol

everyone go to his website, its amazin. i use it all the time, he shows u how 2 play hundreds of songs, literally, and they are all really good songs.
@ OzzyYazzie...a great speed building tool i use alot is...Take a metronome and set a comfortable speed for you and practice your downstroke picking and your upstroke picking and when you get comfortable with that...raise the tempo alittle and it will really help build your forearm strength and speed
@guitarshredder61 Yeah I never turn mine up past a quarter on the volume notch. I have a gibson les paul standard. 30 can still be heard for a long way. I don't even think that 30 watts is necessary for home jamming.
@SuburbanAnarchist yer same tbh, but wen ur parents r up u can turn it up full open ur windows n get an audience of either annoyed or amazed neigbours :L, pretty fun :L, n theyr alrite 4 gigin, yer u can stick a mick in front of any amp but i think its pretty good :)
if im bein honest i think the best way 2 get speed is just aquire it over time, thats wot iv dun and i can pick prety mentally fast for how long i've been playing, when i want to, slayer songs are really good for building up speed, thats mainly how i manage, i learned their songs and played them all of the time, but i don't doubt metronomes are good 2 tho
honestly its not so hard just get all the little riffs smooth and youll be suprised at wat you can do plus hours of practiceing

@SuburbanAnarchist if its got 2 speakers it probs is 120 watts, only 30 but its still loud enuf :L, wot typa guitar u got??
guitarshredder61 1 year ago
@guitarshredder61 Yeah I never turn mine up past a quarter on the volume notch. I have a gibson les paul standard. 30 can still be heard for a long way. I don't even think that 30 watts is necessary for home jamming.

if im bein honest i think the best way 2 get speed is just aquire it over time, thats wot iv dun and i can pick prety mentally fast for how long i've been playing, when i want to, slayer songs are really good for building up speed, thats mainly how i manage, i learned their songs and played them all of the time, but i don't doubt metronomes are good 2 tho
