  • dude the cardinals rock you guys suck right now there running away with the divison now they got Pujols Ankiel HOLIDAY!!!! Lugo Derosa Smoltz Ludwick Rasmus Ryan Greene Schumaker MOLINA THE BEST DEFENSIVE CATCHER IN BASEBALL Carpenter Wainwright Pineiro Franklin

  • True, the cardinals are the best team in the NL right now. The holliday acquisition certainly didn't hurt. We were kind of off on this one...wainwright and carpenter have been much better than we anticipated. I would still like to see how they would match up against an AL team though.

  • theyed fucking rock

  • fuck da mets check da stadings now hahahah. their a joke when dey dont choke!!!!

  • Doesn't make any sense.. Not the best team yet they won it all? I dont get it.

  • the best team doesn't always win. For instance, the 2006 World Series-winning Cardinals went 83-78. Nobody in their right mind thought they were the best team. But things went their way, and they got hot at the right time.

  • But you can't argue that they weren't the best team in the playoffs that year just because of their mediocre record. They made the playoffs and did what they had to do to win. The regular season is so meaningless sometimes. For example, the Phillies and Dodgers in the regular season were 4-4 head to head. What happened in the playoffs? Phillies won 4 out of 5. 2 different seasons (post season and regular season). Furthermore, many teams make trades that make their team better at the deadline

  • But the regular season is a larger sample size of a team's ability. I'm not saying that whoever has the best record deserves to be the champion, because that's just stupid. But if a team gets hot at the right time they can beat better teams and eventually become the champion. A seven game series doesn't serve as a microcosm of an entire season, it just shows how that team is playing at that point in time.

  • I agree to an extent.. If the team with the best record always won there wouldnt be any point in playing the games. Just always give it to the team with the best record. However, I still believe the best team at the right time, as you say, was the Phillies. Not the Rays or the Red Sox or whoever else.

  • Oh, I completely agree with that last statement. That makes them the World Series Champs, which is far more important than being the best team. But, the fact is, they were not THE best team from last year, they only played the best at a specific point in time.

  • Which I think indicates the better teams.. The teams that play best in pressure situations are the better teams.. Regardless of record.

  • I guess we agree to disagree.

  • dont the cubs have like a really good rotation? zambrano, lilly, harden, and some other good guy i forget his name

  • are you thinking of Ryan Demptster?

  • also why the brewers? they lost sabathia and sheets? i mean theyre one of the best hitting teams and they got a pitcher in yovani gallardo and a decent bullpen im going second for them

  • the mets are gonna win especially with the sheffield addition. this year is between the braves and mets but with mets coming on top. the phillies need another good pitcher besides hamels. and they dont have another one so sorry phils fans ur not repeating

  • 1. Braves

    2. Mets

    3. Phillies

    4. Nationals

    5. Marlins

  • Screw this PHILLIES ALL THE WAY!
