  • Backruns at 3:12...

  • Where can I buy the DVD, I loved it!

  • Please, does anybody know the name of the slow foxtrot? It is very beautiful!

And the dancing... what else to say than absolutely perfect!

  • The foxtrot is a modern version of Sukiyaki originally recorded in the 1960's by Kyu Sakamoto.

  • @bluridgeharley

Hi-just come across your request about the foxtrot track name--

  • Meraviglio we are not lucky,we are very very lucky because in tuscany ,with mirko and alessia, there are simona fancello, fabio selmi, michele bonsignori and monica baldasseroni,too...

  • true

  • mirko is my master, I'm in the Focus New Step school of dance in Piombino, Tuscany. Mirko is the technic director.. I'm lucky ^_^

  • Most of the comments shown below do nothing to validate the incredible display of skill, power, emotion and beauty captured in this viedo. I'm amazed at the quality of movement these two have created together, I'm in awe of their abilities. I will never reach their abilities but I will certainly use their benchmark to guide my development as a dancer.

  • Great tango dancing, you can tell you all

have tango in your blood. Watching you

guys dancing made me feel like i was dancing

with yous. Because i love dancing tango, myself.

But i do not dance professionally, me and my

husband take dancing lesson for years now

    and just dance on the

    weekends with friends.

    Anyway wonderful performance!

  • Mirceasami: You sounded like someone who likes to argue a lot, instead dances a dance. To me, that is a proof that you used your mouth instead of your feet to dance! So please shut up! Before you annoyed people any further! Why don't you pick up something you are good at: like running for the president..., obviously dancing is probably you have the inferiorty complex with! stay away from it!your dancing is probably not as good as the video here any way?! Go to your A.T.! dancewu(dot)net

  • there's no such grading in AT, which means its main emphasis is internal and on a relationship of harmonious cooperation between 2 individualities, not on an external audience, on imposed constraints. Regarding envy, you again assign emotions to me that do not exist. I mean, honestly, what a waste of time being envious, don't you think? Ignorant I may be; one always is in one circumstance or another.

  • and if i'm not mistaken, that's precisely what standard tango was created for, show and competition, not primarily for the feeling, which is the case with A.T. what i like about AT is the lack of convention, while convention is what standard tango is all about, is it not? i mean, you get points deducted if you make certain moves and such.

  • you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • wow, that's a good argument...please, don't waste my time if that's all you have to say.

  • You said:

"convention is what standard tango is all about, is it not? i mean, you get points deducted if you make certain moves and such."

That's as ignorant as someone saying that AT takes no skill. You think standard tango is about "convention," "points" apparently. Learn the dance before you draw conclusions.

  • i did not mean tango is snobbish, i meant your reaction was. just because you know a lot about something, you can't dictate to me what to feel about it, nor exclude my right to express that feeling. oversay mentions the soul; i think that's very apt, it is a matter of the soul, of feeling, of a spontaneous emotional response. i don't think you have to be an expert in art in order to appreciate art. if it was the case, then only experts in dance would come to watch your ballroom shows.

  • I am not an expert in art...so if I see a paint who I don't like, I don't shout laughing "It's horrible, it's pompous, for me is not really a paint at all", because..it can be a real masterpiece I never see before...and in this moment I simply can't understand real beauty and value. Ignorance for me is not don't know all about any dance or art, but be so presumptuous to give verdict -not opinions- about something without be aware what I am tanlking about.

  • This couple is simply a gift of God. Lightness, perfection, feeling. They fly on the floor like two feathers. I don't know what it can be in the soul of people who can't see how wonderful they are. But please stop with this fight, it's a very ugly thing for all dancer reading that 'war of words'...Simply, dance your favourite dance and respect others. I think it's the best thing to do.

  • This doesn't look like tango

  • You are really breaking our balls celebrating everywhere that 'argentine tango'.

Maybe you don't see, in this video there are 4 standard dance but I am sure that in your cavern you know only argentine tango. And like all underdevelopped people, you can only be aggressive and offend: it's for educationless. You don't know at all what are you talking about. So we forgive you.

  • ha, ha, and I'm aggressive? sorry, my initial comment was just a very personal, subjective and humuourous reflexion based on a spontaneous feeling, and I did not intend to offend. no matter how much i 'educate' myself on tango or dance or whatever, i just don't find the position (especially the woman's) natural, nor exceedingly graceful.

  • I studied literature; if you liked an author that i hated, would i have the right to scorn you, just because i've had a formal education in literature? I think art is too personal for this sort of snobbish bullshit.

  • So i don't care how extensive your tango knowledge and practice is, i still find ballroom dancing conventional and uptight. by the way, i'm only a beginner in argentinian tango, i can barely walk (caminar):) So there you go, you can justify your righteousness by telling yourself that you've been having a silly argument with a dilletant. I forgive you too

  • You tell 'bloody europeans', and this is a very big racist aggressive offence. If you are walking the first steps in argentine tango, with your back and shoulders well curved looking like very old tired people, low arms, no lines in your body, only some boleo tell that you are still alive, your head heavy down looking the floor like you lose some cent, and you say that this position and look is good and beautyful and the standard tango is bullshit...I forgive you again.

  • Yes,I argreed totally that the argentine dancers, since they do not know what they are doing next, because there is no more than one or two basic dance figures to dance with, the men always bend their heads down FOREVER as if they were looking for the lost earing on the floor somewhere!--in order not to step on her! MOST OF THEM DANCED FLAT FOOTEDLY! What posture?! An experienced dance organizer lady commented,

"Those who do not know how to dance; took up Argentine Tango !" dancewu(dot)net

  • Yes,the position must be strong and perfect, so maybe it can't look natural like the shabby curved tired argentine tango posture; woman must be show every moment the open and long lines in her body and her neck and head, not only show the beauty of her legs and shoes (and ass..;-)) like in A.T.; every step must be elegant and dinamic, not a simply luxorius invitation to do sex; you say it's 'snobbish bullshit'?

  • That's right, Call it like you want, but is so...I think all your simply 'personal comments' hide only envy and ignorance (the ignorant people hate and offend all they don't know, all they have never seen before..). If you don't like standard dance noone can force to plat it or see the videos, you can stay in your argentine tango bar for the rest of your life, like I can rest in my parquet ballroom, without give annoyance each other.

    God bless you.

  • oh, my, so now european is a race??? by the way, i'm a european from Romania, and if you had read my initial comment more carefully, you would have noticed a smiley at the end of the sentence. that indicated a joke and self-irony. my friend, you assign intentions to me that were not there. i did not write the comment to offend people; i have friends who are ballroom dancers. i respect your choice and do not despise you for it, but i'm also entitled to my opinion, even if it's controversial.

  • mirceasami: you admitted that you are only a BEGINNER in Argentine(argentinian) tango!!!And you have been arguing with some of the best dancers in the world( I don't have to tell you what I already knew) pages after pages? That is what I found out also years ago that no matter how bad a dancer actually is out there, they almost always gave me the impression that they already are the BEST! That is the EGO that kept a lot of people dancing!.. dancewu(dot)net

  • It's like I do a bad comment about Shakespeare, only reading fastly the final pages of Romeo and Juliet, like this:'Oh it's so pompous and pretentious, not like my favourite detective stories, which is more NATURAL and gives me more emotions...I don't like it, I never like it'.

  • the video name is "Line Figures"

  • No offense. Karen Hilton is beautiful and has a wonderful personality. But I always thought she is not

an asset for Marcus. Now I see this Italian couple,

I realized that Marcus is much talented than Karen.

  • What is the name of the video tape? Where can I get it?

  • What is the name of the video?

  • never been a better standard couple

  • Their tango is even better! so powerful.

Mirko is able to maintain perfect balance

    during spin or rotate.

  • I just took some lessons with the new #1 amateur standard couple, Paolo Bosco & Silvia Pitton. They said to watch how flat Mirko's backline is. That's what they do, too. It's perfect!

  • Italians Do It Better!!!

  • uhm...

Mirko and Alessia are italians? lol ! xD

  • they are just amazing
