Well, I hope you found a suitable monologue! I had to find a monologue for an audition once, and it was terrible. It's SO much easier when they just GIVE you the monologue.

And I know it's so hard to find one especially when they ask for your monologue to not exceed 1 minute - Virtually impossible.

And yes my username does refer to Pirates of Penzance. I was in it over the summer and I made an account for youtube real fast one night after rehearsal, so I just made it penzanceee. Did you have a specific role when you were in it or were you just in chorus? (I got to be Ruth in our production, it was one of my favorite shows I was in. It's So funny)

Some friends of mine wanted me to try out on Monday...bah! I personally do'nt think that I can sing that well. Mr. G told me he can make anyone sing...but...hmm. I think I also am partially just afraid to act/sing in public? Yeah...so props to you for auditioning. They'll definitely take you...I'm told we're in desperate need of guys, so I'm confident! i think Charlie Brown is not so much lonely as he is confused. Charlie never seems to get what's going on at the time. When Lucy repeatedly tricks him into missing kicking a football he still tires again and again. Charlie's character is a simple minded guy too stupid to know he's stupid. i think if Charlie is like a stoner only without the drug.

I agree that he's simple-minded and confused, but I'm not sure he's stupid. He offers surprising insights, some of the time.

Sad that you have to go with Charlie Brown, at my high school the actors were allowed to choose their own monologue (with permission) for one play, and a friend of mine did one of Rorschach's journal entries (I do belive) from Watchmen, and it was AMAZING.

Anyways, i'm not an actor kind of guy (I'm a techie crew kind of guy!), but let me say, it's not just Acting that makes you crazy.

Media Studies student? You can overanalyze literally ANYTHING. ANNYYYTHHHHIIIINNNGGGG! (but it is fun!)

Glad to know you're better. Unfortunately, I caught something myself and couldn't go (and therefore have no audition papers and probably won't audtion myself). Whatever, I would have probably been to busy.

We just did "You're a Good Man..." for our fall show. Let me tell you something you must never forget: there is no meaning in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown." So you're not a failure, only the people who wrote your monologue are.
