Yep, the future is starting here...but when both combine, some experiences will still be exclusively one or the other. Like the Super Bowl, some things can only be experienced by a bunch of friends and/or family in the den or a bar watching the same set, but at least some in the group can look at their smartphones or PDAs and start a conversation like "Dude! They got these facts up about the quarterback! Awesome, there's links to each of the cheerleaders' gallery pages!" Or something! :P

This is great news ! I usually have to wait for teevee to put the superbowl on usenet and then download for an hour.I also had to avoid all news for a day, since dutch media, who never mention the NFL all season, do report on the superbowl. Last year they even spoiled the NFC and AFC games.Bastards. So this year I will be watching in the middle of the night while my neighbours are wondering why I'm yelling "Run bastard, run !".If anybody is hosting a superbowl party in the randstad, let me know.

I like the idea as a person like me who has had to cut back on bills (cable got the boot), I now use the internet for tv, news, and lots of other things. Although I won't be one to watch the superbowl via this method as I'm simply not a sports person, it is nice that these companies are realistic in the fact they have to keep up with the demands of the public, or lose them as potential customers.
