imo BO2 was a very good game. It made a lot of fun and was my first LoK game. The silence brutality fascinated me. In fact I would rather prefer a new BO game then a SR game. But I also would like to have a second Defiance :)

I agree with your last point. Perhaps if they redid the entire series with better graphics. Perhaps if they made a game based on Malek's crusade would be nice too. There is no right and wrong, only greys. There is so much Nosgothic history I want to find out about.

Well thats true in a way, but then again the major role of the Elder God is to guide and manipulate Raziel, which wouldnt matter. Obviously I understand that he was behind most of the ordeals in Nosgoth, but there could be a new threat of some kind. I faintly remember the ending being half-open for a sequel?
Well.... All you saw was Kain lamenting and looking out of the Vampire Citadel onto the now shattered pillars... I guess the next game is to restore the pillars once and for all and recover Nosgoth?
Didn't Janos get possessed by the Hilden King or something like that at the end as well? Would Kain's death restore the pillars? Destroying the heart of darkness which keeps Kain and Janos alive would sort of set everything back wouldn't it?

Oh yeah, fucking oath! I'd love a real finish to the game. The Hylden haven't even been finished off! Plus seeing Kain on the throne to that world would be awesome
On the one comment: BO2 wasn't so much as important to the story line as it was interesting and any good story has an interesting side-story. But that's all that BO2 was, a side-story; except for Vorador, none of the other important characters appeared in the game. No Mortanius, Elder God, Ariel, etc. Raziel wasn't in it because this was before Kain sired him.
On the other comment: Well, to be fair, the only hylden that we saw (the Sarafan Lord) did die at the end of BO2...
I am hoping for a sort of cross between Elder Scrolls:Oblivion and Knights Of The Old Republic II, an epic action/RPG where you can explore a huge rendering of Nosgoth, and play through various periods in it's history, such as the Hylden/Ancient vampire war, The Binding, and the hieght of Kain's empire and establishment of the Clans.
Even with Amy Hennig having moved on and Tony Jay having sadly passed on, I don't think Defiance was the end. This series is to loved. Read the interesting thread about the supposed movie on Nosgothic Realm. A person who worked on Tomb Raider Legends is asked if there will be a new LOK (there were LOK easter eggs in that game) and he says that he knows, but cannot tell, which is close enought to "yes" for me.
For a media to become timeless it must posess at least one trait that in ten or twenty years will still remain above average of what will be produced. The LoK series have a storyline I could freely compare with Planescape:Torment, Max Payne, Fallout or Deus Ex. Unlike most Next Generation games, the storyline is more than just a few meaningless sentences the marketing guy came up before the manual was about to be printed and the voice acting is not just a way to appeal
to lazy players who would suddenly get smarter and learn how to type if they would be forced to read anything more than a beer label. LoK is a work of art, an intricate storyline, a real, dark and immersive world - it doesn't feel like Mortal Kombat but like a dark, cruel, real world - take the example of the final battle of Soul Reaver 2 - a battle of trivial difficulty but tremendously engaging emotionally.
The cold words "I renounce you" are still in my memory.
Timeless you say? Yes, that is pretty much the truth. Such a wonderful series of game it is! I want another one now! And a movie would be nice... with a decent manuscript NOT created by Uwe Boll. Then I'd be happy. :)
As Raziel descended into the whirlpool the dramatic music and powerful choir matched the events more than in the original intro, and as he entered the chronoplast chamber I could swear I heard "Redeemer and destroyer" Amazing clip, perfect music and synchronization, perfectly captures the mood.

Didn't Janos get possessed by the Hilden King or something like that at the end as well? Would Kain's death restore the pillars? Destroying the heart of darkness which keeps Kain and Janos alive would sort of set everything back wouldn't it?

Oh yeah, fucking oath! I'd love a real finish to the game. The Hylden haven't even been finished off! Plus seeing Kain on the throne to that world would be awesome

@Gindelbi yeah, the Hylden only make one real appearance in BO2, and they weren't even killed in that one, the Hylden must die

On the one comment: BO2 wasn't so much as important to the story line as it was interesting and any good story has an interesting side-story. But that's all that BO2 was, a side-story; except for Vorador, none of the other important characters appeared in the game. No Mortanius, Elder God, Ariel, etc. Raziel wasn't in it because this was before Kain sired him.
On the other comment: Well, to be fair, the only hylden that we saw (the Sarafan Lord) did die at the end of BO2...

I adore this video, the music fits perfectly with the scenes and the whole feel of it is just what I'd expect from a GOOD LoK vide. ^^
This series is one of my all-time favourites, Raziel being my favourite character, and this is making me love it all over again!

I am hoping for a sort of cross between Elder Scrolls:Oblivion and Knights Of The Old Republic II, an epic action/RPG where you can explore a huge rendering of Nosgoth, and play through various periods in it's history, such as the Hylden/Ancient vampire war, The Binding, and the hieght of Kain's empire and establishment of the Clans.

Even with Amy Hennig having moved on and Tony Jay having sadly passed on, I don't think Defiance was the end. This series is to loved. Read the interesting thread about the supposed movie on Nosgothic Realm. A person who worked on Tomb Raider Legends is asked if there will be a new LOK (there were LOK easter eggs in that game) and he says that he knows, but cannot tell, which is close enought to "yes" for me.

For a media to become timeless it must posess at least one trait that in ten or twenty years will still remain above average of what will be produced. The LoK series have a storyline I could freely compare with Planescape:Torment, Max Payne, Fallout or Deus Ex. Unlike most Next Generation games, the storyline is more than just a few meaningless sentences the marketing guy came up before the manual was about to be printed and the voice acting is not just a way to appeal

to lazy players who would suddenly get smarter and learn how to type if they would be forced to read anything more than a beer label. LoK is a work of art, an intricate storyline, a real, dark and immersive world - it doesn't feel like Mortal Kombat but like a dark, cruel, real world - take the example of the final battle of Soul Reaver 2 - a battle of trivial difficulty but tremendously engaging emotionally.
The cold words "I renounce you" are still in my memory.

Timeless you say? Yes, that is pretty much the truth. Such a wonderful series of game it is! I want another one now! And a movie would be nice... with a decent manuscript NOT created by Uwe Boll. Then I'd be happy. :)

As Raziel descended into the whirlpool the dramatic music and powerful choir matched the events more than in the original intro, and as he entered the chronoplast chamber I could swear I heard "Redeemer and destroyer" Amazing clip, perfect music and synchronization, perfectly captures the mood.
