  • Thumbs up if you thought it was funny to see him get Handcuffed at 1:22!!! hahaha

  • @SlittyDrake ;)

  • whos the english wast at 2:04, drenched in urine and endeavor hills feces.

  • Man I remember black saturday. It was so sad... People in other countrys dont know how big our fires really are.

  • Having not seen the area, and just guessing here, if there is piles of green waste behind residents back fences, often it is the residents themselves that have chucked it over there.

  • @KingtutWA its not 'green waste' people from endeavour hills arent that dirty lol, its backed onto a golfcourse and that 'green waste' are actually 'blackberries'

  • Good shots. I try to get some pics while I am on the job, but carrying a camera in one hand and a fire hose in the other is a challenge. I am the Captain of the local brigade, and I have a site with pics and vids of mine on it. Google "Dunsboroughbfb", and check out the "recent events" page.

Also, try to get some proper clothes on before heading off into a firezone.

  • Endeavour Hills!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

  • Who's getting handcuffed at 1:22 and why?

  • That's me!

  • Graet shots of Elvis, particulary 0:32 & 1:50.

Why were you handcuffed? Did they accuse you of impersonating a Police officer at 1:19 ??

  • @StinkySound LOL!!

  • Just as a sidenote:

  • This music score on this clip is completely inappropriate.

  • Ruffgo, the 'music score' was written by me on my sequencer on the day of the upload, sorry it doesn't comform to your liking. I do not rip off other musicians music by not getting persmission when I upload my videos. In saying that, I have noticed 'other' users videos have stolen images from various photographers without crediting them. Everything you see and hear is 100% mine.

    Thanks for commenting nonetheless.

  • Ruffgo should use the mute button more often.

  • i second that

  • I'm not sure about the technicalities of that AUSsupportTerrorist, but, I think from now on, when people decide to make clearings for bush fire prevention, I don't think "greenies" will be able to contest it. It's really sad in this day and age, it takes a disaster to make people wise up and amend problems that could cause future incidents. In my opinion, a single life lost in the bush fires is a life too many!

  • As this disaster continues to devastate I just wanted to again pass on Our profound sympathy and Support to Our Friend Australia from the U.K

You are Still very much in Our thoughts and Prayers

  • Thank you PeaceiHatetheword for those kind words, it is much appreciated!

    :)

  • Oh man, is this the most awesome music anyone has ever heard or what??? it reminds me of this bloke in endeavour hills that was a bit of alright with the electronic beats, i think he called himself cute or cuey or cue or something...

  • LOL, I know that guy as well! He had 8 sets of arms and could run several musical instruments at once like a musical octopus! Hehehe.

    Cuelo Cuelo!

  • Yeah this has to be the best music by far on any youtube vid ive seen....KEEP THEM UP..If I ever need music for a movie I hope I can Ask you... Or a documentry... WO wow ow oW ow

  • tommyaceshow, you have inspired me to share some more music/videos! Been writing tunes and engineering audio since 1998. :) Unfortunately, there is no money to be made from anything to do with multimedia, unless you know someone who is high up in a company. So I don't mind giving away my work for free, it annoys people that get paid for doing the same thing! Thanks again.

    :)

  • Oddly enough, I have never seen a koala in the wild, and I have travelled to many areas in Australia, including Tasmania. Any animal perishing from a fire is disturbing/sad.

  • LMFAO @ 2:26 - With music, Your editing is so cool - random hahah WoWOWOow very good!!

  • Thanks tommyaceshow, I actually wrote this track on my QY70 midi sequencer 8 years ago in 2001. I resequenced it on my KORG Electribe MX and AKAI MPC500 just for this video. I have another 100+ midi sequences like this one, but this was the most appropriate/annoying. I am actually surprised you are the first person to comment on the audio, which is the main reason I uploaded this video.

  • @tommyaceshow thanks mate, all my music is like this unfortunately.

    LOL.

  • i mite go 2 vic n get that free money that kevin 07 is giving out, im broke lol

  • I'm not sure if that's still going ahead mate?

    :S

  • sorry. Free money is only for people with Half a brain. Learn to spell and maybe you'll get a reward.

  • Kind of a paradox really, because if you had half a brain, you wouldn't need free money. :)

  • If people want to rebuild in fire prone area's. Government law should make it compulsory for them to have underground bunkers, with fire proof metal doors.

A lot of people and pets would be alive only if!

  • Its not that prone to bushfires.

  • can you please explaine that more?

  • It's not that it's not a common occurance Lkonae, there is always a possibility in areas like that a bush fire can strike at any time, prevention is better than cure. Australia has such strict building regulations/codes, especially in major cities, then these should apply throughout rural areas also.

  • I don't see why not MRMILO57, they have so many other useless building codes in place atm, at least this one will serve a function. I work in earthworks and excavations, it wouldn't cost much to make, especially in rural areas.

  • Completely agree with you, and your so right, it wouldn't take much time and money to make fire community fire shelters/bunkers or private shelters/bunkers. It would be worth spending $1000-$5000 (private property) for peace of mind.

  • If anyone would like to see or use the higher resolution photos, you can click on the Flickr link posted on the Info section of this video.

  • I would imagine it to be so black in parts with smoke that people would get lost and not FIND the old roads to find there way out, like someone said on the news the land scape has totally changed ;(

  • That would be quite scary experience if you were put in that situation.

  • yea all these people found in cars it's so freightening to think about, It makes me SO sad and kind of angry thinking there must have been a way to prevent some of this by being more prepared months ago or something.... I just don't know

  • It is sad ShesThe1yup, and you're right, it is kind of annoying because in most cases a lot of deaths were preventable. At the end of the day, no one wants to die, and I can only imagine these poor people did everything they could to avoid the fire, but in most cases it was already too late. :(

  • Muy buenas fotos, ya estan esos incendios por varios dias... en Australia.

  • Sip, en diferentes lugares!

Ayer hacia calor, llego a 45.1C grados!

  • there was another fire yesterday in cranbourne, on the golf corse and it started in lynbrook then went passed the south gippy highway and then the outdoor deco and golfcorse, 17 firetrucks were they and from all over rosebud mountmarther and more and there like an hour away thats how bad it got and the fire burnt 7 cows, 3 house brunt down, a boat a car and another car was nearly brunt down and it had gas in it so it kept exploding but luckily they hosed it down, rodes are still bloked today. :|

  • I didn't see much coverage on that one th3bRiiTanyy, mite have to see if someones uploaded a video or something.

  • amazing photography, what camera do you have? i saw a house go up in flames yesterday, it was horrible. i couldn't bring myself to take photos.

do you have a flickr account? are these uploaded as hi-res photos anywhere?

  • Thanx Johnny, I need to upload them to a public domain like flickr, i'll send you a message when I do it.

I took the photos with a Canon EOS 400d, 17-85mm IS USM Lens.

    :)

  • that sewer juice sprayed all over that english dude is a killer

  • yeah man it reeked like argentinian sock juice. hills 1981-2009

  • Word Up!

  • that dude get sewer juice sprayed all over his english ass

  • Wow... I've lived in endeavour hills for 12 years now and this is probably the most exciting thing thats happened so far. Isnt that sad...

  • Sadly, I would have to agree with you ChangingResolve, but then again we have that beautiful gaping hole in the mountainside, which is the Pioneer Quarry. It dumps tonnes of dust on Endeavour Hills residents homes/cars on windy days. That's why your family car is always dirty. :)

  • So THATS why my car is always dirty eh!? Oh my god... All this time I didnt realise... o.o

Its almost as though you know Endeavour Hills back to front... as if you designed it!... ... did you design it..? lol jkz

  • Haha, I know the Hills quite well, all the secret alleyways to get away from the cops and gang members back in the day.

    :)

  • i was a firefighter at these bushfires, just letting you no that although you may not think what you are doing is dangrous you havent been trained in wildfire behaviour etc, so i would advise you not to get to close. and FYI standing that close to a re-filling aircraft could cause the pilot to have to leave that area due to the danger. you could possibly get into trouble as it is technically "hampering firefighting efforts" which i think is something like 30 penalty points. think again next time

  • Instead of worrying about the other 200+ tourists like myself on that day, why not put all that "firefighting" effort in place and advise the Golf Club owners they created a very hazardous environment for the residents of Endeavour Hills.

There was a lot of discarded trees and foliage left along their property boundary to discourage people entering the golf course!

  • The Golf Club did not create a 'very hazardous environment for the residents' You should be appreciating the fact the course was there and protecting your neighbourhood. The golf course broke the fire! I agree with the boundary comment although its a bit exagerated, but a proper fence should be put up and it can be cleaned out.

  • There was a section behind the golf course that banked up with peoples back yard fences, massive amount of green waste piled up along their fence line. I am quite surprised no one made mention that it was a fire hazard. I'm talking about trees and branches that have been sitting there for many years, a perfect recipe for disaster as the embers are what make there way into people backyards and other areas of concern.

  • yeah true the heli crew would prob like the photo's anyway you send them a copy

  • Thank you 0oDaMange888, funny you say that because I already sent a photo to their division!

    :)

  • I know this because I have been living in Endeavour Hills for 29 years, their original fence is as old as I am, so instead of repairing or updating it, they created this fire hazard alongside peoples backyard fences.

It is also odd that you have assumed I have not had any training, I can tell you I have many certifications & qualifications under my belt, one of which is First Aid.

  • In regards to being to close to Elvis, I alongside two other accredited photographers were there, I didn't realise educating people of the dangers of bushfires was deemed "hampering firefighting efforts".

Remember, prevention is better than cure!

In saying all this, you guys did a great job, and I have shared my photos and other media with several CFA groups who all found my work quite admirable.

  • Can't you see that people are not going to sit around and wait to be told what to do by you, when things go bad going out and finding more people keeps these people calm, more independant thinking please just take care and ask the firecrews how dangerous it is to be there my brother almost lost his life on ash wendesday so i am well informed, and i am not a firey.what makes you think people can not think for themselves?

  • Exactly right 0oDaMange888, especially because this is my area, as i mentioned in another post, been here since 1980.

    :)

  • What are penalty points? Is that the system that governs the volunteer firefighters that go around deliberatly lighting fires? As for the getting to close to the chopper, maybe he was standing there and the chopper came to him? Stinky, were you given a warning to move away? A punishment can only come after a warning.

  • Also the locals may have known information about their local area that the firefighters did not eg. fuel drums in a dam pump house If the locals arnt around alot of firefighters lives can be lost this way. I think it shouldnt be generalised on what to do in these situations as each one is totally different.

Quote "These fires are not acting like normal fires" So what is wildfire training going to do?

  • good pics!

  • Thank you!

    :)

Too bad you cannot see the real photos!

  • I give you that Stevevo! It was like 60C+ from the ambient temperature of the fires, and I wasn't even that close to the fires!

  • A state away in N.S.W. it was 46dC under our verandah, next doors bees died due to heat, our birds were ill,had 3 small fires, peatsridge, gosfordBlack ambers rained, they lasted 5 days, were v lucky,i was2scared togo closewid cam:aswarnings of Bing done for arson:SOmate&i went up firetrail near our home toget some pics5mins after we got home detectives drove up there!sobe carful with your selves, and only go up main roads were you can be watched by the cfs/police so u do not go for suspician of arson,

  • What's with the guy getting arrested at 1.27?

  • He was just showing the coppers an old Shaolin arm grapple manoeuvre!

  • i probably saw you walking around there too i got the fire bombers on video taking water they are so powerfull alot of people think we are idiots for being interested in this stuff and getting too close. but i will say on thing and that is if i was aloud to help out CFA without training i would have because my house was under threat at one stage too

  • Great shots mate how did you get so close? alot of people are pissed at guys like us that just wanna see the action up close. your photos tell the story well done

  • Thanx Italiazr1, if u saw me, I was the idiot in thongs and shorts HAHAHAHA!

I have cuts and shit all over my legs, but worth the trouble in the end!

  • Awesome!

  • Thank you.

    :)

  • Here is a collection of photos I personally took of the fire that happaned on the 30/01/09 along Police Paddocks, Churchill Park Golf Course and a small section in Endeavour Hills.

I just had to upload this because it's safe to say that the photos I took are slightly better than those taken by "professional" photographers at the scene, who didn't brave the elements to get interesting photos.

    :p
