  • nice shooting

  • you dont have to be modest, you're a great shot :) keep up the videos!

  • nice video...keep them coming

  • @Meoff01 I'm gonna do one at 300 yards one of these days. I have a better camera now so that will help.

  • If you shot someone at point blank with an airgun the worst it would do is hospitalize them. And killing someone at 200 yards with a .22? If you can land a "fatal T" shot, yes. A fatal T shot is when you disconnect the brain from the brain stem and they die before they hit the ground.

  • @FACKINSMOKE Ive been doing some 300 yard work with that .22. If I'm having a good day I can group decently with it.

  • This just proves that all the high powered rifles are BS over kill. A .22 is almost scary consistent. When society falls apart you can keep your ar15's and your ak-47s i will put food on the table all day with my rim fire.

  • Hey Mr. listen to the sound and watch for the hit they are to close to gather. someones lieying.

  • Do you think Federal Ammunition is the best for 22's because I shot the winchester ammo but found Federal to chamber and extract the best.

  • @ibanezrg320fm I don't know which is best. I've had good results with both.

  • @ibanezrg320fm This has nothing to do with this video or comment, but Ibanez rocks!

  • Good shootin :-)

  • what kind of bullets are you using, because my friend is claiming that he is hitting a 12 inch target at 300 yards up hill with 22 long rifle hollow point, without missing a shot. now i think that is impossible with hollow points correct me if im wrong

  • @spandexjustice Federal bulk pack.

My scope would run out of adjustment at 300 yards.

  • Good video. Honesty and no Bs. Just matter of fact. I think you shot pretty good for what it's worth. I'll be picking up a Savage Mark II in a couple weeks. I hope I can do close to what you did for accuracy. Mine will be pest control as the gophers are making our place look like a mine field. Thanks for the video.

  • @nobull60 Thanks but I was shooting off of the bench and that eliminates a lot of "user error".

  • Great Shooting! I Love .22's.

  • Great shooting.. Chek out my video.. 268 yards free hand with iron peep sights!!

  • nice shooting i see the wind was from left to right do you remember how much you had to compensate for that and how much higher you had to, for the drop. Nice job on the video also.

  • @swivelgate It's been a while but I probably just aimed at the target and watched where my bullet actually hit then compensated accordingly. The scope had to be adjusted for about 30 inches or so for elevation since it had been sighted in for 100 yards before that.

  • @swivelgate i have a save mark ii tr and was shooting 40 gr. blazer ammo abd hitting a pop can at 200 yards i had the gun sighted in for about 30 yards for shooting birds when started shooting that far and i had about 3 foot of bullet drop

best when u shoot to have a falg up or some way of telling when the wind is down

  • wow nice camera and good shooting. what ammo wood u recommend cause my .22 is sighted at 50 yards and shooting federals it dropps about 5-6 inches and has bad grouping

  • @pyropaintball1313 I was just using Federal 550 round bulk packed ammo that time. The only .22 ammo I can say from experience that I don't care for is Remington Thunderbolt and CCI Blazer. Find a decent brand of ammo and adjust your sights accordingly.

  • Went to the range yesterday and shot a 200 yard silhouette all day with my 22LR and had tons of fun. I will never forget to bring my video camera again. >.<

  • What was your initial sight in? 50 yd? 25 yd? If sighted in @ 50 yds. How many clicks up in elevation did you do? Keeping in mind bullet weight and ballistic coefficient of a 22LR.

    -Thanks.

  • @TSniper79 I was sighted in for 100 yds but adjusted my scope up enough to compensate for 100 more. I don't know how many clicks it was but I had to compensate for about a 30-36" drop. It's been a while so I forgot a lot of it.

  • Nice shooting! Its so satisfying to hit a target that far with a 22LR. :)

    5/5

  • thats pretty good i shoot rabbits at that distance with my 223 but my best shot with a 22 is around 120 yards. i love my varmint shooting thought i was doing well shooting with my 223 at 2-300 yards on a normal shot lol guess i need practice best shot i ever did was on a hare at 750 yards in 90km/h winds and that took me 3 goes lol

  • i used to make money off my friends shooting a 22 targe pistol no matter what they used i could out shoot them. they couldnt believe some of the shots hitting one inch targets. the 22 cal rocks

  • Can I ask the ammo used, subs or supersonic

  • @davi111123 It was Federal bulk pack. It comes in 550 round cartons from Wal-Mart. I haven't seen it sold in gun shops. It's super-sonic.

  • @3OCALM1 Hey there mate. I have the CZ 452 synthetic and use the same pack of rounds as you. Nice bargan price they are for 550shells. I think they are 36grain? I use them on the farm for pinging rabits and foxes and Im suprised how good they are. The winchesters are a little stronger but the Federals price beats them by a country mile hands down.

    P.S impressive shooting!

    Thomas.

  • @davi111123 You can hear it's supersonic as the sound goes 'crack echo'. Subsonic just goes 'bang' - much like a small firecracker.

  • Nice shooting = keep up the good work.

    :)

  • nice job! and thanks for teaching me 2 things I didn't know. ; transonic stage and wind @ your back will make a bullet rise !!

  • 200yds is almost impossible for me with a .22lr and with such small target.

  • nice bit of shooting, what sort of drop of did you allow?

  • I was doing some shooting with the .22 i own the other day, wasn't 200 yds but sure did have to raise it quite a bit bout like you said about one foot above, and two inches the left, hit the center of the ten inch target once, so im happy.

  • Impressive, considering the distance, and target size as well. I would however like to see a similar video, but with a larger paper target, as to see how well you could group at that range.

  • @natkingpaul That would be a good project for you to work on.

  • I would like to. Just no camera, time or range to do it at. I'm just saying I would like to see that.

  • Hello - I watched both vids. A lot of great technical knowledge I did not know. I'm just starting out & will be assembling my scope on my Ruger 10/22. I do not plan to shoot at anything farther than 50 yds. Thank You. Sincerely,d JAMES.

  • K8 scope , and a CZ . Speaks loud and clear the the shooter has his shit wired tight . I like those CZ's all but the stocks , not into that European stock style . But damn the build a nice gun .

    Great shootn!!!

  • what is better .17cal or .22cal.....im planning on going on my first rabbit or squirrel hunting...so let me kno which 1 is more damaging, which can shoot farther, and which you prefer for rabbit shooting.THANKS

  • @pure2089 I don't know that much about the .17 except that it's a lighter and faster bullet that costs a helluva lot more money to shoot.

  • @pure2089 you dont reely need anythign special to go squirl or rabbit shooting i know some people who go hunting wiht a damn sling shot i would go with the one with cheeper ammo

  • @pure2089 talking about money, .22cal r much cheaper. the FMJ .17cal gives less damage than .22cal with FMJ, but the softpoint and hollowpoint .17 cal has more damage power than .22cal. .17cal has higher velocity and also costs more. where i buy my .17 ammo, it costs about $13/50 round box. for rabbit hunting i prefer .22cal cuz it costs less. and its about in between not too much damage to ur game if ur gonna eat it.

  • if u need a trainer: watch?v=Zf-_zpcdT9s

  • nice scope, is it a mildot scope? i did find one pretty inexpensive at Walmart that is 4x-16x power 50mm obj. illuminated mildot adj elev and adj wndg. parallax focus 5th generation scope i believe. For less than $80.

  • It's an old Weaver K8 that I found somewhere. Fixed 8X with regular crosshairs.

  • bet you cant sight that ;P *neither could any1 in the world at 200 yards, scopes ftw?*

  • I primarily use an old batch of about 30,000 super X sub sonics (40grain). We inherited it from a relative, and they are the most accurate 22. ammunition I've ever used. Its about 50 years old and still far outperforming anything you can buy now.

  • Is this CZ 452 lux or standard?

  • Standard.

  • Because the silhouette is so small ,does that make shooting it at the 200yd distance make the distance farther than say shooting a conventional silhouette which is the size of an average man? AND by how much does it increase the distance? EXCLNT shooting by the way and very impressive.

  • I'm not sure I understand the question.

The metalic ram silhouette I'm using in this video does simulate shooting at a live ram at a greater distance.

A human silhouette target like a B27 is an entirely different target typically used for self defense or LE training.

  • BTW thanks for the compliment.

  • it's not the same principal, no matter the size of the target, at 200 yards it's still 200 yards. he's saying if you shoot a man size silhouette at 200 yards, it's the same as shooting further distance, if you make the target smaller.

  • Yeah its still 200 yds but with a reduced size target your shooting at a smaller surface area that would, in that sense, simulate longer distances. What IS diferent is that the velocity, trajectory, windage, time in flight, remain the same. Using a reduced size target only changes one variable in the simulation of increased distance shooting. NRA high power shooting allows for reduced distance targets to simulate longer distnaces when the longer distances are not availible.

  • Exactly, so even though its 200yds away, the target is so small that it makes it simulate a greater distance. That is what i was trying to figure out about how much further did that small ram simulate shooting distance wise, 300,350yds?

  • hi, do you need a license to buy or use a .22 rifle?im 18...

  • In this state (Fla) and most other states you do not need a license for a .22 rifle or most any other firearm except for full auto and a few others.

Some states are stricter than others, though.

  • thanks im from ca.

  • Remember this is not a toy,it has the power to kill a person, treat it with respect.

  • its okay, i had 3 years experience being on a marksmanship team with navy juniors...i think thats enough weapon safety isnt it?

  • What ammo are you using. My mossy 146ba is a tack driver, would like to try it at 200yds. Nice shooting by the way.

  • Its just cheap Federal bulk ammo that comes in the 550 round carton typically sold by Wal-Mart.

Well, it used to be cheap.........

  • know what you mean, it's gone up like $10 here, it is pretty good ammo tho.

  • what scope are u using how did you set it up?

  • It's an old Weaver K8 (8X32)that I found somewhere. I don't know who made the mounts and they aren't marked. I probably dug them out of a box of gun stuff. What I don't like about this scope is that it's really too long (see the 1st video) for the receiver and the front of the scope isn't as well supported as I'd like it to be. It's meant for a centerfire rifle, not a .22.

Other than that the optics are very clear and it has a fine crosshair.

  • is a 22 loud? in this video is sounds like it. i wanted to get a .22 but i was afraid it would be a little to loud for neighborhood shooting and backyard shooting

  • Hmmm try asking your local gun shop to let you test a used .22 or something at a gun range. Don't even try shooting in your backyard if you are in a area that is technically called a "city". I live in a sort of suburban area that is technically "county", so it should be legal to shoot. However, there are always noise level laws to consider, and cops love telling off people with guns...

  • well i wouldnt shoot in my backyard only cuz i would get yelled at by everyone around my house.. i would probably only use the .22 to hunt and to sight the scope

  • Ya same here. My hippy neighbors hate loud noises. I just tell them "hey I was here first!" or "Hey it's the 4th, lay off braaaaa (lol)".

  • the personguydude is lucky

but almost all suburban areas its illegal to shoot in the backyard. If you life closer than 1000 feet from your neighbors house its probably illegal

  • use sub sonic .22's

  • thats a great effort for a .22lr. great thing about a 22 is you do stuff like that all day and not do to much damage to your wallet

  • less talky talky, more shooty shooty

  • you can kill a person 200 or 100 yads (head shoot or body shoot) with a 22LR rifle???

  • you can kill someone at 300 yards with a .22 pellet gun...so yes

  • NO YOU Cant a .22 pellet gun @ 300 yards is going about 250-300 fps yielding approximately 2-3 FPE... Thats not even enough to puncture a soda can! (max range is about 450-500 yds)

  • Yeah? What velocity and grain did you start with to come up with that FPE?

Talk to me again when you have any clue what you are talking about

  • @ninja6kid its the other way around you idiot, why dont you try to find out what an airgun is!

Even the most powerful .22 airgun in the world(Arforce Condor) cant kill somone at 300 yds. thats starting out at 950 fps with a Eun Jin 32.4 gr. pellet with 64.9 FPE.

Air guns lose about 1/3 -1/2 of their velocity every 100-150 yds. YOU do the math!

  • your an idiot

  • Yes easily.

  • I had fun shooting my .22 at 200 yards. my gun was zeroed for 50 yards, which is practical for a .22. I had to aim approx. 4 feet high and 2 feet to the right in 10mph winds to hit the 12 inch target. Once you find where it's hitting it gets easier. You need to pull the trigger steadily but I hit 9 out of 10 during one session.

  • im suprissed .22lr seems very weak what is the velocity and gr do you know?i only hunt with 22lr i dont fun shoot..i shoot air rifle 200 yards 1200 fps 32gr me its more like 8ft drop....

  • try mini palma! open sights prone with a sling at 200 with .22! so fun!

  • I've got a 1939 vintage Winchester 75T with an M1907 sling that I could use for that.

I haven't had the .22 bug lately, though.

  • wow! great shooting buddy. what size scope do you have?

  • Sorry it took so long to answer.

It's an old Weaver K8 fixed 8X, 1 inch tube, and 32mm objective lens. It's older than a rock but the optics are very clear.

  • In the Olympics and in C.I.S.M. .22 rimfire rifles are shot at 100 meters (110 yards). The match rifle ammo that is used is loaded slightly sub-sonic to eliminate the transonic problem. 200 yards is very good shooting. The CZ is an excellent rifle. Congratulations!

  • Reminds me of Jed and Jethro Clampit shooting flies off the gate from the front door of the mansion. Great.

  • great shooting. I'm working on 325 yards. but if theres any wind at all you can just about forget it. its a lot of fun to see peoples face when i can hit a 4x6 inch steel plate @ 200 y about 5 outta 8 times on ave. but once i shot 10 outta 10. but never was able to do it again

  • @geoant9467 have you tried the 17HMR at 330yds+?

  • @SS13E3 nope, have not picked up a 17 yet. in the middle of building a .50 cal and a multi cal ar platform

  • @SS13E3 17hmrs are the shit. The ammo price has gone up though..

  • Comment removed

  • looks like fun ! i tried to make a 22 travel more than a mile. Good luck I had to aim very high just to drop a bullet in at 1/2 mile away. Some people say it will go 2 miles lmao no way !

  • well done for 200yrs with a .22

  • 200 Yds with a .22 is extreme range ... 200 Yds is moderate range with even a 30-06 when you are shooting freehand over open sights.

  • did u have to aim off target for the wind compensation or just adjust windage dial?

  • I probably just held off a little to one side since it was a variable wind and not always a factor that day.

  • o ok.

  • niiice now take it off that stand your shooting on and do that

  • Can you?

  • notice on how their was wind on the second and third shot which conclude's dat physics aint always right ..................also i dont need some panzi regarding my english dis is america what do u expect.....

  • Wow, nice shooting

  • High school physics: The bullet will accelerate downward at 32 ft/sec/sec. If shooting level, you'd expect the drop in each meter (or millisec) to get larger, proportional to the *square* of flight time. So the drop at 200y would be 4 times the drop at 100y. (If you incline up, equation has one more term. And then air drag messes it up. And then that transonic thing might change the Reynolds number. - A theory is a beautiful thing until murdered by a gang of brutal facts.)

  • "That ain't bad." That's an understatement; Nice shooting! I've taken my .22 out to 100 yards, but I've never tried much farther. It's pretty accurate at that distance in calm winds, but like you say, it doesn't take much wind to knock a slow moving 36 or 40 grain bullet off course. To be honest, I get the best accuracy out of mine using Stingers and they're only 32gr but I've never really tried any long shots in the wind.

  • I have a bolt action WesternField .22 that i shoot up to 200 yds open sights. i never did like a scope. The .22 is the funnest little bullet.

  • Wow 30CALM1, i've just fell in love with the CZ 452 Mannlicher and i've never seen this video before.. I knew they're good rifle, but not THAT good!

    Sure you're doing your part!

  • love 22s ive got a stainless ruger, tricked out ,drugonov stock 4x 16 power scope ,love it!!

  • nice shooting. too many people believe a .22 rifle is limited to about the 125 yard range.

i'm looking to get a .22 rifle, probably a ruger 10/22, that i hope to be able to stretch to 250+ on a target sililar in size to a dinner plate.

    nice set of vids.

  • Interestingly enough, I read an article about a guy who was shooting grocery store turkeys wrapped in 3 layers of clothing from 300 yards. The slug went all the way through and was caught in the last layer of clothing on the back side... so even at 300 yards, a .22LR can be deadly if the shot is placed well (which would be mostly luck at this distance)

  • That is pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing it.

  • haha it takes a few secs for the bullet to get there

  • It takes even longer for the sound of the impact to tavel back.

  • NICE!

  • good shooting ma n I strugle at 100 yds !! well done.

  • Not much skill on my behalf since I was shooting off of the bench.

    Thanks just the same, though.

  • I am looking at getting a 10/22 for myself for rabbit hunting and im was wondering if it is accurate at that range?

  • Maybe a heavy barrelled one will be. My 10/22 just has the standard weight barrel and isn't as accurate. With any .22 LR, no matter how accurate, I wouldnt use it to hunt with at that distance. It's just too far to expect reliable results from a round like that.

  • thnx

  • Yeah i do a lotta gopher hunting with a 10/22 and I actually hit one from 200 slight breeze and I aimed real high and slightly adjusted after seeing where each hit.

  • VERY IMPRESSIVE! This vid inspired me to buy a .22. So many people say that .22's are garbage over 100 yards which is clearly not true.

  • there are airguns that do better in 250yards, but the .22 rulez

  • I'm not doubting that there are some PCP airguns that can.

Just wondering what brands you would recommend.

  • Ive seen a .22 Airforce Condor getting 2.6" groups at 180 yards, shotting 38.2 grains at 1200 fps.

    Dont remember if its stock.

  • wich kind of 22 should i get ?

  • u should try a even longer range u only missed twice and they were cm away 225 yards i bet u could could get 1 on that target out of a few.

  • My scope is just about out of elevation adjustment at that range. I don't think it would make it to 300 yds.

  • hi im planning on getting a 22 lr can you tell me what ammo you were using ? by the way very nice shooting!!!

  • Thanks!

It was just cheap Federal bulk packed ammo.

  • Good shooting man. Hope you have fun. Stay safe.

  • Thanks.

  • i have an 11 shot semi auto .22 rimfire execellent rifle i prefer it to the centerfire it requires a lot more accuaracy at greater distance and with a sound mod its virtually silent

but good shooting boys at 200 yards

  • nice shootin'

people give 22's alot of crap but if your shoot a min of 2 times a month

with 223 thats like 100 bucks a month for only 200rds and thats buying it at 1k case's

  • agreed, 200 yards is a long way for a .22, i have to aim pretty high to hit a prairie dog at 125 yards, i wouldnt even think of trying for 200

  • I don't aim high I adjust the scope so I aim right at what I'm shooting.

  • I have a .22 and would really like to learn to shoot like that. any books and web site that would help?

  • Not much to it really. For that shooting for that vid I was shooting off of a bench rest which eliminates a lot of (but not all) shooter error.

As long as you have a halfway decent .22 rifle, ammo, and optics it's do-able.

The biggest issue at that distance is wind effect and trajectory. Wind in any direction will reak havock on that lightweight, comparatively slow, and not very aerodynamic bullet.

  • Because a .22 longrifle round really starts to drop after 100 yards make sure to compensate for it by cranking your scope elevation up. If your zero'd in for 100 yards the drop from there to 200 is like 30 inches give or take.

    Give it a try.

  • great shooting!!!

  • 200 yards is alot farther then people think

  • yep two football fields. nice video.

  • impressive!

  • slyteradon, ive only had one ammunition that was very different from the rest called laupia. its made for 50 foot hand gun shooting, and the drop of these bullets are ridiclous- but there also not intended for longrange, but they are LR. just my two cents, ive never dont 200 yards (at least accuratley =o ) hopefully tht helped haha

  • im looking into buying one of these rifles, and one gun that has my eye is the Savage MARK II-FVXP .22 cal. and im wondering, is there much of a difference in accuracy with .22's or are they all around the same?

  • There are differences in accuracy from one model to another and I don't know which is the best.

I can say that I've never heard of anyone being unhappy with a .22 made by CZ.

  • very nice shot man. very nice video as well

  • What's the optic size of your scope?

  • It's an old 8X Weaver.

  • very good vid but you should have showed the gun....enyhow 5/5

  • Check out the other video titled; "Long range .22 Rimfire long rifle at 200 yards. Video 1 of 2".

That video shows the rifle, a CZ-452.

I didn't have a decent editing program then so I had to make 2 videos.

  • 22`s are fun!i got a Savage on my 11th birthday...it`s been 1 year and i have shot it about 2,000 times. Also i shot a aluminum pop can from 120 yrds with 10mph wind.(5 for 10).The gun makes a unique sound at that distance..it`s like a thud then about 1.5 sec. later you hear the cracking sound, and i could hear the bullet hit the can.I love it.

  • Once in a while I get bored with my other guns and focus on .22's for a while.

Late last year I tried shooting my scoped Ruger Mk.2 at the same target at 200 yards but didn't do very well. I'm going to try it again some day with match ammo and see if I do any better.

  • I just tried 200 yards with my 22 rifle today. I was wondering why the drop was so much more than at 100 yards, and the accuracy, I guess it is the transonic element.

I also wanted to mention that I was aiming about 2.5 feet higher as you were but when I tried it with my Ruger Mark 2 Target two days before, I had to aim what I thought was 5 feet higher.

Just a little more info for anyone that is interested.

  • The .22 LR bullet really starts to drop past 100 yards.

I gave it a try with my Ruger Mk.II govt. competition model with a Leupold scope but didn't have much success.

  • 30calm , I'd say you're a pretty fair shootist, though you claim not to be.

Doping the slight wind 3 out of 4 at 200 with a rimfire?

    Brooks trigger kit?

    Or did you polish?

  • I put a Brooks trigger spring in it not long after I got it in '03.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice looking range. It's always a lot of fun trying out your skills with the long range stuff.

  • looks like fun!

wonder iff i could do that with the ruger

  • Ruger as in 10/22?

    Give it a try.

Just remember you have to compensate for a lot of drop at that distance.

  • JESUS FUCK! Great skill brother. That's an impressive shot for a .22 Iron sights?

  • I used a scope.

  • Ah okay. Still very nice. =)

  • Did u put wind in as a factor too or did u jus but the crosshairs and the target n fire away?

  • I don't remember exactly but it looks like there was some breeze so I probly had to hold off slightly to one side.
