The 427r has a 4.6 v8 with a roots supercharger with 435hp to rear wheels. It is called the 427r because prior year models before 2010 produced 427hp (the name stuck). The 2011 gt 500 now has 550hp up from 540hp last year. Wait until roush gets the new 5.0 and makes it a stage 3. Cars will be getting owned.

@srlewis76 Sounds like the camaro has some mods, cam exhaust and who knows what else. If your going to post SS state it's not stock. The mustang can be modded too with pulley changes to increase boost and swapping gears from 3:55 to 4:10 will increase low end. Can you ever just like what you have without somebody saying your ride sucks or it's the driver. Bang for the buck is currently the new 5.0 come on chevy ( don't state the vette it's not in the same price range).

@srlewis76 Your information is incorrect. The 427R has 435 at the CRANK, not the rear wheels. It's typically is gonna dyno around 375-385 at the rear wheels. But yes, the new Stage 3 and even the 5XR are freaking beasts!!

the reason its called the 427R is because the engine IS 427 Cubic inches(CI) that guy cant drive and it has more HP than 427. Do research.

agreed. had it been a 427ci 7 liter v8 that thing would have a hell of alot more then 427HP. i can put a 426 hemi in my jeep and get output near 600hp
