Science is only roughly about 400 years old. ONe day it will be commonly understood to humanity that females and males are different in the was. ONce The world was supposedly flat, now supposedly women are exactly like men.
"Quantum womens studies", "Quantum justice", "Quantum very DUMB 11-year old boy speaks out against the N-word in the sideline" "Quantum Hypocritical/sexist feminist"
You're saying I'm just pulling things out of my ass?... well, yes.
This makes me sad. I am an atheist and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dawkins, but I'm also a Women's Studies student. I am interested in science, specifically evolutionary biology, as well as astronomy, but I also think that the social sciences and humanities are equally as important. Instead of pitting the sciences and the humanities against each other and forcing people to choose between the two, I'd much rather we try to understand how they coexist in the world.
@namedULaika when you frame this as a conflict between "science" and "the social sciences", or between "the sciences" and "the humanities" as you have, you introduce a red herring, a distraction, a change of subject. Afterall, philosophy falls under the humanities, but it also the progenitor of the sciences, and psychology is a diverse field which also falls under both categories that you listed, and Dawkins appreciates/reads the work in these fields. This is really just about PoMo and WS.
@namedULaika what do you research in these programs? It seems very sexist to me that every other university has programs critiquing(app. critical theory) society from a vantage point of one particular gender.
@sun4502 don't forget buddy. The meaning of the term "sexism" is meant to be somewhat vague and subjective. It was never intended to refer to "positive" things such as systematically favoring or empowering women over men, only "negative" things that "sexist" enemies would engage in can be considered examples of sexism. If feminists had princples, then they could be held accountable and thier ideas could be scrutinized. So please don't give them too much credit.
@sun4502 Women's studies largely study legitimized power relationships. Women's studies is the deconstruction of the violent patriarchy in which we currently live.
@KMallinson Firstly its not a 'legitimized' relationship. Secondly we currently don't live in patriarchy(from wiki def. Patriarchy is a social system in which the male gender role as the primary authority figure is central to social organization, and where fathers hold authority over women, children, and property.) in western countries.I asked her abt WS because academics is not for political purposes or gender empowerment, its for unfettered and unbiased research.
A true brainwashed WS student would argue that you can not and should not separate politics from academics, or choose between advancing a social agenda and advancing knowledge. They would be right, but they would use this as an excuse or justification to move the goal posts, and to forget entirely about the academic goal of advancing knowledge, when convenient, but then still pose as credible, knowledgeable academics when convenient.
Unbelievable that these feminists have now gotten SO deluded that they've gone out and attacked the scientific method as sexist and their bullshit so called "intuitive" way of knowing as a "more fruitful" approach to truth?? LOL. Of course women, who overall don't GET logic at all and choose and LOVE to live in their delusional fantasy world of ever shifting feelings and emotions were just waiting to be able to make their asinine claims that their female intuition is superior, lmao. Of course..
@TomLeykis1 women have thought such things from the very beginning which is why Eve though she was smarter than Adam. Even if you don't believe in the bible, the fact that it is recorded is very telling as we've come full circle. Women think their intuition is so superior, yet was it INTUITION that created the computer they're using right now, the TV they watch, the cell phone they LOVE to gab and text on, the drugs they LOVE to take for their pain or other issues..NO. IT was SCIENCE and LOGIC!
That is only because male fetuses are attacked in-utero by the mother's immune system. The mother's body reacts to a male fetus more because it's more different from her own body. That's why baby boys are born weaker and boys are generally less sturdy than girls until the age of 10 or so. It has nothing to do with radical feminism or misandry. It's just nature.
Oh, so you are saying that if women suffer or fail, then that's because of patriarchy, and if men suffer or fail, then that's just nature. So you are a female supremacist basically.
@MsTiberiius I don't think that sarcasm is the right word. I was posing a question about her thought process, but I forgot to add a question mark at the end. Her comment seemed to come out of nowhere, but then I realized that it could relate to what I had said about men failing at life, and feminsts cherry picking and categorizing women as an oppressed group.
Let's hear some direct quotes FROM feminists instead of the characterization of critics of feminists. It's a habit of Dawkins to quote critics of what he wants to criticize instead of directly quoting what he wants to criticize. That's just lazy scholarship.
Considering his tantrum over what Rebecca Watson said last year, it seems he's got issues with even "skeptics" and atheists who are women. There is silly stuff that gets accepted in academia these days, he says some of it.
@destituteneedsjob So according to you Dawkins is "lazy" threw a "tantrum" and has "issues with women."
And you're a left wing hack who has issues with Dawkins.
And don't act like you havent heard disturbing or embarassing quotes from prominent feminists before, they are not exactly difficult to find. Why didn't dawkins adequately prove to you that quantum mechanics is a real theory just in case you might have your doubts?
Well do you? Do you really have your doubts? Want to call his bluff?
"[The black hole] teaches us that space can be crumpled like a piece of paper into an infinitesimal dot, that time can be extinguished like a blown-out flame, and that the laws of physics that we regard as 'sacred,' as immutable, are anything but." - John Wheeler, renowned theoretical physicist and Manhattan Project member
I agree with Dawkins about the misappropriation of quantum physics by various interest groups, but I also believe he would be profoundly uncomfortable with this statement.
"Women's ways of knowing" is a dishonest, absurd and incredibly immature way for feminists who feel entitled to always get their way while arguing drivel. It is a way for a woman who is a liar and lazy to try to get her way without having to make any sense or prove anything. It says, "you're a man and you don't have women's feelings and women's feelings have secret data so my "feelings" always trump your "facts", "proof", and "logic".
While Dawkins is a bit of an asshole, I give him my praise for standing up to feminism and conspiracy theorists. What he says is true: The world has retreated from reason.
@St37, Pls straighten me out on the logic of necro1. If physical strength (inferring men) means enslavement then why can't men get mangina politicians 2 do r will instead of feminists who make up about 2% of population? It's not ok to be oppressed by physical strength (men) but it is ok to b oppressed by (fems) political oppression (mangina politicians controlled by $ contributions & political pressure by fems). Did men ask for V.A.W.A., primary aggressor laws, 85% custody 2 women etc. etc.??
to claim that logic is sexist because it's incompatible with women's ways of knowing is actually incredibly misogynist when you think about it critically. it's basically implying that women are lead about by their emotions and are too stupid to think critically. the claim is simply there as a method of manipulating peoples emotions to control how they think and behave.
@robokill387 Exactly! Bingo. It's also anti-truth. How can there be "differnet ways of knowing?" If something is true, it is true. Having a "hunch" or "intuition" is just that- a guess. That's why people have to confirm their hunches.
Imagine if all lived in the Dark Ages where a person could be burned as a witch on "intuition" of the priests.
@Mirani2 different ways of knowing and having a hunch and intuition are very important in science, without those there would be no science in any meaningful way. Science isn't all about logic its about imagination and creativity, especially with fundamental discoveries. But of course the intuition these scientists have is different from the evryday intuition
@StarsManny society does not have a bias towards men. being male does have its perks, but so does being female. each gender has their own advantages and drawbacks. the problem is that feminists aren't open-minded enough to see the disadvantages that come with being male.
science is not about intuition. in fact, it is full of counter-intuitive ideas, but these are accepted because the evidence supports these ideas. "womens ways of knowing" is vastly inferior to hard science.
@33LB yes "womens way of knowing" is basicaly a load of rubbish, but by intuition I am referring to those vague ideas that researchers get when some part of their brain is pulling them in a different direction to any that anyone has ever taken. Or maybe I'm getting confused with lateral thinking. But yes the whole "women's intuition" thing is worthless in science.
@StarsManny that doesn't sound like "intuition" to me. intuition is something that's known with instinct, but our evolved animal instincts are not great when it comes to understanding the universe. quantum physics, for example, is full of counter-intuitive ideas which seem completely bizarre to our animal brains. watch "the queerness of science" by richard dawkins, he does a great job of illustrating how strange science is.
@33LB lol you're right. I just looked up intuition and it means "knowing by instinct".
I was about to reply that instead of intuition, perhaps fundamental discoveries often rely on someone "having a hunch". But then I Wiki'd "hunch" and it redirected me to "Intuition"!
So I don't know what word would describe when a scientist goes against all the wisdom of the era and is then proved to be right.
To bottom line it, without male innovation society would barely be out of bronze age....in fact id argue we would still be barely better then rural tribal societies. Also as for that crazy femininst chick....see the amazingatheist and his complete beatdown on her in his vid.
For the record, the circular saw has been in use since before that women was credited with inventing it. Similar claims have been made to female innovators such as how a women was the worlds 1st programmer....later investigation revealed this all to be feminist distortion. Simple put, nearly over 90% of all eartly innovations were conceived by the male mind and to make it seem like women have contributed as much is just blantant ignorance and revisionist misandry.
@knightschwartz That will end when the people in those countries start a revolution against their tyrranical leaders. The ones who are here, we should teach them a bit about freedom and human rights and send tem on their way to overthrow their ass leaders.
Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given 2 the profane masses is another useful idiot 4 Jesuit machinations
Jesuitical; pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating

Papal Rome cant have their Counter Reformation 2nd Dark Age DESPOTISM until Bible is destroyed
Dead-to-the-spirit deluded "God Delusion" author & blithering fool scientist goon Richard Dawkins another "leader" given to the profane masses is another useful idiot for Jesuit machinations-C.O.
Jesuitical: pertaining to the Jesuits or their principals; designing; cunning; deceitful; prevaricating
The Jesuit Order completely altered the education system to suit their Evo-Hoax agenda to discredit the Bible. They cant have a Satanic society of 'Do as Thou Wilt' if people still follow the Bible
So feminists are actually afraid of men rather than wanting to be equal to men? Feminism is apparantly expressing fear more than equality; after all, science is clearly acessable to women as there are plenty of women scientists, I'm afraid making science more feminine so that women can dominate it would make it cease to be science. Feminism is based on the doctrane that women must act as bigger dicks to stand up to men, only then will men respect them, in their view. Its worse than Fascism.
feminism is incompatible with scientific thinking.
scientists are supposed to free themselves from pre-determined agendas and bias. feminists, however, hold the pre-determined conclusion that women are superior to men, and hold on to this bias no matter what.
as a science geek myself, i would love to see more female scientists. feminists, however, are not welcome. they must leave their bias outside of the laboratory and cease to be feminists.
@33LB you are right. Also feminists are very blinkered, almost in a way that is similar to fascism. If you swap some of the words they use about men for words about jews or black people, they suddenly start to sound like white supremacists!!
@MensRightsVideos Feminism was meant to be about equality, but now it's just been hijacked by a bunch of hypocritic morons. So real feminism is good but what you mainly see are just feminazi's who want female superiority.
@Gary190tube They believe they need it because women are oppressed, the way blacks are. Since society itself is already a white male thing, black and women need to have special groups, by their reasoning.
It's wrong, yes, but its' not due to bigotry on their part, just a poor response to bigotry.
@Mirani2 I agree with a lot of what you said....I agree a great deal in fact. But I don't believe women are oppressed in this country (I think black people are). And women certainly aren't exactly a minority group.
Women are not disadvantaged in the same sense as an oppressed ethnic group, or any other kind of group. To be truly disadvantaged means to be handicapped in a way that lowers your power and status relative to the competition. Men are only competing for power and status/mate selection with other males. Females are only competing for power and status with other females. Therefore, as a group, neither sex can have any advantage over the other.
@Mirani2 I hope that you can appreciate how feminists support policies that are a reincarnation of old fashioned lynching.
What do I mean?
Here is a lynching narrative for you.
White woman falsly accuses black man (always a man) of sexually assaulting her... angry mob forms...the man is punished by death without trial...woman later admits that she made it all up, but the mob no longer exists.
I think that the gender element is even more informative than the racial/class element.
@hgchjk no they arent. they ride our coattails and manipulate half the men to subjugate the other half. as long as men think of pussy as a drug, and the media pushes it as if it were a drug, then women will always have the upper hand.
but in all truth, its probably not even the women who are the architects of this master plot. it is most likely the men who gain from subjugating others, ie the oligarchy, that are behind all of this malisciousness and chaos.
@paragshah2112 Don't say "they"- you have no right to blame all women for the actions of some, any more than you have the right to blame all redheads for the actions of some.
@paragshah2112 Germs in the apples will spread and thereby change all the apples- stupidity doesn't spread from one human to another- my friend being stupid does not spread to me.
I would definitely place wagers, because most women I know in my family are just as intelligent as the men. My cousin, she aced the math section of the SATs.
How can we tell if women are capable if we tell little girls "you can't do as well"? We'd have to raise a generation without those attitudes first.
@Mirani2 It is interesting how in trying to make the case that women really are "dissadvantaged" in an analogous fashion to a minority group, feminists carefully cherry pick thier facts. You won't hear the official feminists complain about how men are 90% of the homeless, 90% of the prizon population, and 99% of work place deaths, or about how women spend/consume/control the majority of disposable income, retire earlier, and live longer and healthier lives for example.
@St37One Right, as for women being disadvantaged, it's more psychologicaly, like it's still an insult to be "a girl" in school, rather than "a boy", but there are also really bad things that happen to men.
What I hate about modern feminism is its belief that women were always oppressed in "the old days". What about Annie Oakley? She was in the 19th century.
@St37One The same points I have made countless times. I encourage all men to educate themselves with facts like these regarding the power that women possess western cultures. I would start with a listen to the interview of the author of the book "The Myth of Male Power" on youtube. It contains several parts but, 4 - 7 especially contains some startling information as to the extent of women's domination in the U.S. Get educated and give your anger a voice of reason against female tyranny.
Women are also much less likely to be the victim of violent crime or murder BTW, but they also have special VAWA policies designed specifically to protect women only, from males only, and to take away the rights of the men who are accused on behalf of women.
feminism will be destroyed by evolutionary psychologist, the MRA and your average non indoctrinated critical thinker... why? because those people/groups do not use academic fraud for political purposes.
Now I see why this video's views have spiked recently.
Femabigots are once again threatened by Dawkin's firm grasp of reality and common sense, and doubly threatened by his blunt honesty. And he is right, there is absolutely nothing worth talking about in a guy inviting a strange girl to have coffee with him, elevator or no elevator. Once again, that peculiar polarization with respect to "womens issues" is showing itself within the atheist community.
@St37One There's nothing wrong with a guy inviting a girl for a drink, but he did it after she had announced to the whole group that she was tired and didn't want to be bothered.
@St37One the problem was that she had mentioned, I read, that she was tired and wanted to go to bed. Not listening to someone else is not a good thing. However, I do disagree with her. It's not a feminist issue.
No, that's not feminism. Logic is indeed taught in Women's Studies classrooms. I'm disappointed that he even mentions that it has to do with feminism as a whole. "Women's way of knowing" -- this phrase is using old stereotypes of women's "intuition" which is bull. Anyone can call themselves a feminist and say ridiculous things. They do not represent feminism.
A female friend of mine took a Women's Studies course first year in university. She was taught that "men will ALWAYS bring you down, and that's why women have to stick together and fight back". This professor of hers also meant that literally, since she once prided herself in punching her boyfriend nonstop once because he got her the wrong drink at the bar. I wish I was kidding -_-
Women Studies is bullshit. End of story. No logic, no facts, just plain misandry and ignorance.
An anecdote is not a good source of information, agreed. But when one anecdote does not differ in any way from the other vastly numerous anecdotes about the same issue, then there seems to be a rather consistent trend that one can safely feel is credible and trustworthy.
Any time you would like to cite your sources I'll gladly read them. Unless, that is, your sources are from the subreddit circlejerk. You'll fit in there, by the way.
If there is a healthy form of women's rights, it sure as hell isn't Feminism. If you really wanna know how true Feminism operates, read about Erin Pizzey, the WCOC, the White Feather, Valerie Solinas, which NOW and the former head of Ms Magazine have said to be at the forefront of the Feminist movement. Also check out her manifesto, while you're at it, and plenty more works of Feminist BS many followers consider true activist literature.
@omiobambino Such a view, if harbored with a positive view of women ("we have intuition, sisters!") would be called female championship, not feminism.
Thank GOD some atheists are immune to feminist dogma. I always thought how ironic it was that the feminist urge to control people is similar to the churches moral controls, sometimes over-lapping like with prostitution, censorship and porn.
St37, Pls straighten me out on the logic of necro1. Did men ask for V.A.W.A., primary aggressor laws, 85% custody 2 women etc. etc.??
@MLJ1219 her argument is ambiguous. She is either arguing that males tend to abuse power and females do not, and that therefore female empowerment makes everyone wealthier, healthier, and happier. Or she is arguing that male dominance is a symptom of a society that is plagued with physical violence, destruction, and poverty. But I think that she is trying to have it both, ways and probably just regurgitating bigoted feminist propaganda.
@St37One Thank you for the clarity, you always state the cold hard facts so much more eloquently than I do. I sure would like for her to tell us where those feminized luxury utopian countries/states are where woman rule & men drool (where the rivers are wine & the streets are paved with gold, no wait a minute, that's El Dorado). Just like most of the ideology/statistics feminist spout I fear those feminized luxury utopias are in her mind.
@Mirani2 You replied to a comment I made 5 mos ago & I have RE-POSTED IT BELOW. How does your comment match up w/my comment? Verbal, psych or physical pressure CAN TURN INTO OPPRESSION. Fems want to trade physical (men) oppress for political (women) oppression. You seem to be having a lively debate & making some pretty good points, why are you taking me away from shaving the hair off my back? I agree w/St37, 33LB, StarsManny. I don't think I have anything else to offer. Fems = bigotry.
@necro1 U say male dom =misery for every woman & child. I say female dom = misery for every man, woman & child except fems. If u believe n the greater good for all wouldn't male dom make more sense & hasn't it made more sense 4 thousands of yrs? Pls name these feminized states where ppl live in luxury. U.S., more women in college & grad from college than men. Women projected (by fems) to over take men n pay & advancement n 20 of the top paying fields. So, is U.S. shithole r feminized state?
Also, you know. het cis white male is not to talk about bullying of young women by (women) feminists. Unless he identifies as a young woman of course (*smirk*), which is totally fine.
This is first rule of postmodernist argument: speak for yourself. And present middle finger to those who try to speak for you.
Postmodernism cured feminism of idiocy, because without striking boundary between male and female you cannot make such sweeping generalizations. Not assuming what's in my pants is totally scientific, because you have not seen it, and have not read about it in scientific article. Dawkins likes stick-figuring just like their religious opponents.
@gorapeng Gender is a spectrum, not a binary. Like black and white- everyone's somewhat gray, there is not merely MALE- FEMALE- HERMAPHRODITE. Right on!
feminism was funded by the elite and bankers (Rockfellers) to double the work-man force, devalue salaries and destroy the nuclear family making the people weaker and easier to manipulate. This is what is happening right now.
Whoever came up with this is most likely a genius. Long term, i'm not so sure.
@biakuya Feminism doesnt' say every woman must work, it says the choice to work shouldn't be based on sex. Some men choose to stay home. Sometimes both partners work. Sometimes neither work in the traditional workforce, but live on a farm, etc
This tactic is as old as Frankfurt School Cultural Marxism.
Being against "sexism" is originally a front for supporting the gender war, and socialism in turn, so the definition of sexism is best kept out of grasp.
It is not hard to sell people on the idea that false assumptions or prejudice can have negative effects, but "sexism" is not limited to that. There are no noble apriori principles. All that matters is who is making the assumption and for what purpose.
@St37One This is true. Instead of preaching euality or judge people as individuals so as not to mislbel them, it's all about "men are baadd!" It sucks!
If you are counter revolutionary, then you are the enemy and you can be labeled as a sexist. The only point of the term is to identify and label enemies. If you think that the gender war doesnt make any sense and doesnt help either gender and you dont see the point in fighting, then you are an enemy and a "sexist". Simply pointing out logic makes you a sexist, because logic can be used to undermine any of thier propaganda. that is how you get logic=bad=sexist.
@St37One Have you ever thought of making an educational series on cultural marxism and the Frankfurt school? I have read and watched a great deal about it, but you seem to be very "switched on". You also have an ability to explain things concisely, and condense large amounts of information into a smaller more easily understandable message.
I'm a white male social anthropology student at the unversity of edinburgh, I also happen to come from a very religious and spiritual part of the UK (outer hebrides) and i chose to do this because i am interested in social science and cultures. I have found post modernism to be just as the book Dawkins recomends- Higher Superstition. it is so afraid of not being something it doesn't find "narratively pleasing" that it ends up not actually being anything at all.
@RikiTikiTavi91 You refer to Postmodernism as "NONSENSE"? That my good fellow, is an understatement of monumental proportions. It's more than just nonsense. It's an academic cancer. I'm a multimedia student in South Africa, and I've been suffering and battling against it for three years - all of my lecturers are Postmodernists. It's all they care about. They haven't taught me a single useful skill. I'm just waiting for that little scroll, then I'm off for REAL tech. training. PoMo is evil.
Strength is the tool of domination, not logic. Men are bigger and stronger and that's why they hold ultimate control even in cultures where logic is non-existant. Male domination = misery for every woman and child. That's why patriarchal countries are the shitholes of the world and people in feminized states live in luxury.
I'm a female and at my university, women are encouraged to excel in math and science or whatever they want to do. Whatever school he is talking about, it is messed up.
@CanadiaNecro1 There is truth in what you say. Pakistan, dominated by the pro-male & anti-female Islamic religion is a prime example. I will say this however: situations dominated largely or purely by women can be equally trying. I'm a multimedia student and the majority of my lecturers are feminist postmodernists: they care about nothing else and haven't imparted a single useful/practical skill to me. They're a bunch of academic dictators. Most severe imablances are bad. I believe in MERIT.
@CanadiaNecro So much generalization, i bet you limit the "patriachal" countries to 3rd worlds. Physical strenght means little to nothing, specially nowadays. Oh well, keep hating men.
@biakuya It's not just the 3rd world. Even in my world (technologically sociologically advanced Canada) there are many communities where women are always controlled and confined and enslaved either by their parents or their husbands. Physical strength means you can force others to do your will. You can also do the will of others with great strength. It's a two-way.
Now if you want to get personal, I don't really hate men, no more than someone who eats chicken hates chickens :)
It sounds like you are talking about cultural norms, moral traditions, and shared beliefs. This would not be a product of individual strength or agressiveness, otherwise there would be plenty of noise and deviations from the norm within these communities that you have in mind. When physical violence actually is rampant, it tends to be gang violence and political violence, and males tend to be the targets.
@St37One And women tend to get subjugated. In all cultures that are more patriarchal and violent, women are lower on the totem pole. The more patriarchal and warlike the culture is, the less women are respected and the more chaotic the culture is. Both sexes suffer for it, but females definately suffer more.
@St37One And I reccomend learning a tad about human history. Yes there have been isolated cases of a ruling woman creating havoc in society. But the rule is for humans: men rule, women follow, men wage war and are the more violent sex and kill and rape others, women and children suffer. All historical cannibalism and rape is commited by men. Virtually all serial killers and perverts are men. All terrorists are men. What am I to think?
@CanadiaNecro1 Give me one you dumb cunt and don't tell me Marie curie because she stole the research from her husband. I there's a great female scientist, then it's not more than one or two.
@wamnicho What evidence do you have that Marie Curie was a fraud? You're full of shit. So typical of male supremacists. But lets see...Maria Mitchel was a proffessional astronomer. Tabitha Babbit invented a lot of things, including the circular saw that I know of. Joy Adamson, Jane Goodall, and Diane Fossey are all pretty famous naturalists. Virginia Apgar did some pretty important medical stuff.
How many more do you want? There is a character limit.
@CanadiaNecro1 these women are just mere footnotes relative to the things men invented. By the sweat of our brow, to great risk to our lives we men, time and again forged civilization, including this very computer you type with. "Important medical stuff" is nothing compared to the great inventions of man. Infact we brought humanity to the very stage where ungrateful women like you can just take our gender for granted and spit on our faces as we let you out of the cave into the safe world we made
@MrPillowFort You are so full of it! The circular saw is used in every sawmill around the world to cut lumber. All of the wood products you use were cut with Tabitha's invention. Every 2X4, every board, pole and shake. No man can be named who has invented any one tool that is used so universaly. I gave you perfectly good examples. You disregard them because they were invented by women. I'd like to see you live without all the things women have invented. You'd be in a tar-paper shack!
Tabitha Babbit could not have invented the circular saw in the 1800s because it had been in use ever since the 1600s, the truth is that nobody knows who originally invented the circular saw, and just because some people claim that Tabitha Babbit invented it, does not mean that it is possible, or even likely. I could just as easily claim that I invented it (and considering how intuitive that invention is, as far as inventions go, anyone could easily invent such a saw).
@St37One What about all the inventions by males then? Nobody truly knows who came up with the ideas of Newton, he drew from every source of his day and came up with new ideas, like a genius. Tabitha Babbit was a similar genius. Genius takes old ides and formulates them into new, practicable ideas.
You don't understand it but you want to demand credit for it. Loser. Tabitha, Newton and Goodall are beyond you.
What I said was that I do not know what you are talking about.
To say that Isaac Newton might not have come up with his own ideas, just because he drew from other sources in some vague or trivial sense, is just to say that new ideas dont come from nowhere, which is irrelevant. If you want to be a credible inventor, then you need to invent something that is not already an antiquated technology.
@St37One You originally claimed Mrs.Curie was not a real scientist because she had a husband scientist. I'm still waiting for the evidence there. You dismiss all the examples I gave you without even knowing anything about them. You don't know how invetnion works. Do you even know who Diane Fossey was?
@St37One You claimed she stole her information from her husband, and implied that she "doesn't count" as a scientist because of that. You want to tell me why you think the female scientists I named are not equal to male scientists? You want to give me some real facts? I'm not interested in your opinion, I want evidence please.
@CanadiaNecro1 Besides, the women aren't recognized as scientists, and weren't allowed to enter colleges. That has nothing to do with their abilities. Right on!
@MrPillowFort How can a whole gender be "ungrateful"? some women are very grateful. Others have the same ability as men to invent, they were just encouraged to put it all into the kitchen. My cousin aced the math section of the SATs, her male cousin didn't.
@wamnicho How many great black scientists can you name? Less than 5% of famous scientists were black, does that mean blacks were stupid? People like you made the same arguments back then against blacks!
@CanadiaNecro1 Many rapes are by women, many wars were started by English queens and warrior queens from the Celtic tribes. Don't forget that history can be distorted by the victors.
besides, saying that violence is male nature (or black or short or hairy nature) is just givng whichever group you deem to be violent an excuse.
Furthermore, injustice, not strength or violence, is the cause of problems. Weakness or strength isn't the issue there.
@CanadiaNecro1 Right on! But Females suffer not becaues they are weaker but because they are targeted. they are targeted because people wanted to control birth, and before they knew men were necessary for making babies, they saw the necessary thing as controlling women.
The violence doesnt' come from male nature, but from the violence that comes from frustration when you feel lower than someone and need to subjugate them.
@CanadiaNecro1 The west is on the verge of collapse because of feminism and you're spewing this nonsense. And by the way, western countries were built by the patriarchy. And even up to now, men in the west are the ones who make the day to day decisions of western countries.
@wamnicho Actually the West is on the verge of collapse due to poor book keeping by banks and cowtowing to the collective. In other words: we are all doomed due to Jewish greed and Liberals' desire to belong. What the hell does feminism have to do with anything? If men, as you say, are in charge, then it is their fault the world if fucked right? The are the ones making decisions as you say.
Disenfranchised lesbians, damaged women, and gullible, histrionic, and fearful women are useful pawns for the advancement and entrenchment of socialist and communitarian political agendas. Goodbye nest! Hello beehive! thankyou feminists!
Science is only roughly about 400 years old. ONe day it will be commonly understood to humanity that females and males are different in the was. ONce The world was supposedly flat, now supposedly women are exactly like men.

This makes me sad. I am an atheist and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Dawkins, but I'm also a Women's Studies student. I am interested in science, specifically evolutionary biology, as well as astronomy, but I also think that the social sciences and humanities are equally as important. Instead of pitting the sciences and the humanities against each other and forcing people to choose between the two, I'd much rather we try to understand how they coexist in the world.
namedULaika 2 weeks ago
@namedULaika when you frame this as a conflict between "science" and "the social sciences", or between "the sciences" and "the humanities" as you have, you introduce a red herring, a distraction, a change of subject. Afterall, philosophy falls under the humanities, but it also the progenitor of the sciences, and psychology is a diverse field which also falls under both categories that you listed, and Dawkins appreciates/reads the work in these fields. This is really just about PoMo and WS.

sun4502 2 weeks ago
@sun4502 don't forget buddy. The meaning of the term "sexism" is meant to be somewhat vague and subjective. It was never intended to refer to "positive" things such as systematically favoring or empowering women over men, only "negative" things that "sexist" enemies would engage in can be considered examples of sexism. If feminists had princples, then they could be held accountable and thier ideas could be scrutinized. So please don't give them too much credit.
St37One 2 weeks ago
@sun4502 Women's studies largely study legitimized power relationships. Women's studies is the deconstruction of the violent patriarchy in which we currently live.
KMallinson 1 week ago
@KMallinson Firstly its not a 'legitimized' relationship. Secondly we currently don't live in patriarchy(from wiki def. Patriarchy is a social system in which the male gender role as the primary authority figure is central to social organization, and where fathers hold authority over women, children, and property.) in western countries.I asked her abt WS because academics is not for political purposes or gender empowerment, its for unfettered and unbiased research.
sun4502 1 week ago
@sun4502

Of course..
TomLeykis1 3 weeks ago
@TomLeykis1 women have thought such things from the very beginning which is why Eve though she was smarter than Adam. Even if you don't believe in the bible, the fact that it is recorded is very telling as we've come full circle. Women think their intuition is so superior, yet was it INTUITION that created the computer they're using right now, the TV they watch, the cell phone they LOVE to gab and text on, the drugs they LOVE to take for their pain or other issues..NO. IT was SCIENCE and LOGIC!
TomLeykis1 3 weeks ago
That is only because male fetuses are attacked in-utero by the mother's immune system. The mother's body reacts to a male fetus more because it's more different from her own body. That's why baby boys are born weaker and boys are generally less sturdy than girls until the age of 10 or so. It has nothing to do with radical feminism or misandry. It's just nature.

St37One 1 week ago

"Women's ways of knowing" is a dishonest, absurd and incredibly immature way for feminists who feel entitled to always get their way while arguing drivel. It is a way for a woman who is a liar and lazy to try to get her way without having to make any sense or prove anything. It says, "you're a man and you don't have women's feelings and women's feelings have secret data so my "feelings" always trump your "facts", "proof", and "logic".

to claim that logic is sexist because it's incompatible with women's ways of knowing is actually incredibly misogynist when you think about it critically. it's basically implying that women are lead about by their emotions and are too stupid to think critically. the claim is simply there as a method of manipulating peoples emotions to control how they think and behave.
robokill387 2 months ago
@robokill387 Exactly! Bingo. It's also anti-truth. How can there be "differnet ways of knowing?" If something is true, it is true. Having a "hunch" or "intuition" is just that- a guess. That's why people have to confirm their hunches.
Imagine if all lived in the Dark Ages where a person could be burned as a witch on "intuition" of the priests.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@Mirani2 different ways of knowing and having a hunch and intuition are very important in science, without those there would be no science in any meaningful way. Science isn't all about logic its about imagination and creativity, especially with fundamental discoveries. But of course the intuition these scientists have is different from the evryday intuition
StarsManny 1 month ago
@StarsManny society does not have a bias towards men. being male does have its perks, but so does being female. each gender has their own advantages and drawbacks. the problem is that feminists aren't open-minded enough to see the disadvantages that come with being male.
science is not about intuition. in fact, it is full of counter-intuitive ideas, but these are accepted because the evidence supports these ideas. "womens ways of knowing" is vastly inferior to hard science.
33LB 1 month ago 2
@33LB yes "womens way of knowing" is basicaly a load of rubbish, but by intuition I am referring to those vague ideas that researchers get when some part of their brain is pulling them in a different direction to any that anyone has ever taken. Or maybe I'm getting confused with lateral thinking. But yes the whole "women's intuition" thing is worthless in science.
StarsManny 1 month ago
@StarsManny that doesn't sound like "intuition" to me. intuition is something that's known with instinct, but our evolved animal instincts are not great when it comes to understanding the universe. quantum physics, for example, is full of counter-intuitive ideas which seem completely bizarre to our animal brains. watch "the queerness of science" by richard dawkins, he does a great job of illustrating how strange science is.
33LB 1 month ago
@33LB lol you're right. I just looked up intuition and it means "knowing by instinct".
I was about to reply that instead of intuition, perhaps fundamental discoveries often rely on someone "having a hunch". But then I Wiki'd "hunch" and it redirected me to "Intuition"!
So I don't know what word would describe when a scientist goes against all the wisdom of the era and is then proved to be right.

MuonRay 5 months ago 2
feminism is incompatible with scientific thinking.
scientists are supposed to free themselves from pre-determined agendas and bias. feminists, however, hold the pre-determined conclusion that women are superior to men, and hold on to this bias no matter what.
as a science geek myself, i would love to see more female scientists. feminists, however, are not welcome. they must leave their bias outside of the laboratory and cease to be feminists.

Women's Studies is one of those cases where feminists seem to think that women need a special category all for themselves.
In the UK we have a Minister for Women but no Minister for Men.
We have the Orange Prize for women but no equivalent for men.
We have all-female colleges.
Feminists over here want to ban women's prisons but not men's prisons.
Some companies can discipline an employee for "speaking inappropriately to a female colleague", but no equivalent for male colleagues.
Gary190tube 6 months ago 5
@Gary190tube They believe they need it because women are oppressed, the way blacks are. Since society itself is already a white male thing, black and women need to have special groups, by their reasoning.
It's wrong, yes, but its' not due to bigotry on their part, just a poor response to bigotry.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@Mirani2 I agree with a lot of what you said....I agree a great deal in fact. But I don't believe women are oppressed in this country (I think black people are). And women certainly aren't exactly a minority group.
Gary190tube 1 month ago
@Gary190tube Women I guess aren't oppressed, they are more a group that is clearly more disadvantaged, but this is more culture than legality.
With black people, it is a legality, they are often treated worse by the police, etc.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@Mirani2 I mean, it is easy to see that our society still has a bias towards maleness but its not like what happens to blacks
Mirani2 1 month ago
@Mirani2

St37One 1 month ago
@hgchjk no they arent. they ride our coattails and manipulate half the men to subjugate the other half. as long as men think of pussy as a drug, and the media pushes it as if it were a drug, then women will always have the upper hand.
but in all truth, its probably not even the women who are the architects of this master plot. it is most likely the men who gain from subjugating others, ie the oligarchy, that are behind all of this malisciousness and chaos.

I would definitely place wagers, because most women I know in my family are just as intelligent as the men. My cousin, she aced the math section of the SATs.
How can we tell if women are capable if we tell little girls "you can't do as well"? We'd have to raise a generation without those attitudes first.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@Mirani2 It is interesting how in trying to make the case that women really are "dissadvantaged" in an analogous fashion to a minority group, feminists carefully cherry pick thier facts. You won't hear the official feminists complain about how men are 90% of the homeless, 90% of the prizon population, and 99% of work place deaths, or about how women spend/consume/control the majority of disposable income, retire earlier, and live longer and healthier lives for example.
St37One 1 month ago 19
@St37One Right, as for women being disadvantaged, it's more psychologicaly, like it's still an insult to be "a girl" in school, rather than "a boy", but there are also really bad things that happen to men.
What I hate about modern feminism is its belief that women were always oppressed in "the old days". What about Annie Oakley? She was in the 19th century.

Wasn't it originally the sexist idea of men that women couldn't be logical beings and now you see feminists supporting this stereotype. Insane....
UnyieldingDefiance 11 months ago
@UnyieldingDefiance
St37One 11 months ago 6
@St37One This is true. Instead of preaching euality or judge people as individuals so as not to mislbel them, it's all about "men are baadd!" It sucks!
Mirani2 1 month ago
@UnyieldingDefiance
St37One 11 months ago 10
@St37One Have you ever thought of making an educational series on cultural marxism and the Frankfurt school? I have read and watched a great deal about it, but you seem to be very "switched on". You also have an ability to explain things concisely, and condense large amounts of information into a smaller more easily understandable message.
LetsFuckThisDuck 10 months ago
@UnyieldingDefiance It wasn't a sexist idea by men, it was an observation and many anti-feminist women agreed with it.

IT IS NONSENSE.
RikiTikiTavi91 1 year ago

CanadiaNecro1 1 year ago
@CanadiaNecro1 There is truth in what you say. Pakistan, dominated by the pro-male & anti-female Islamic religion is a prime example. I will say this however: situations dominated largely or purely by women can be equally trying. I'm a multimedia student and the majority of my lecturers are feminist postmodernists: they care about nothing else and haven't imparted a single useful/practical skill to me. They're a bunch of academic dictators. Most severe imablances are bad. I believe in MERIT.
DarthZillasaurus 1 year ago 2
@CanadiaNecro So much generalization, i bet you limit the "patriachal" countries to 3rd worlds. Physical strenght means little to nothing, specially nowadays. Oh well, keep hating men.
biakuya 8 months ago
@biakuya It's not just the 3rd world. Even in my world (technologically sociologically advanced Canada) there are many communities where women are always controlled and confined and enslaved either by their parents or their husbands. Physical strength means you can force others to do your will. You can also do the will of others with great strength. It's a two-way.
Now if you want to get personal, I don't really hate men, no more than someone who eats chicken hates chickens :)
CanadiaNecro1 8 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1 i know you don't. Read the manipulated man, by esther vilar. You are described there.
biakuya 8 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
St37One 7 months ago
@St37One And women tend to get subjugated. In all cultures that are more patriarchal and violent, women are lower on the totem pole. The more patriarchal and warlike the culture is, the less women are respected and the more chaotic the culture is. Both sexes suffer for it, but females definately suffer more.
CanadiaNecro1 7 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
The status of women is lower in all patriarchal cultures? - I smell a tautology.
The less women are respected, the more "chaotic" the culture is? - I smell bullshit.
Have you seen the documentary "Konskriget"?
It's right up your alley, I reccomend that you check it out, seriously.
St37One 7 months ago
@St37One And I reccomend learning a tad about human history. Yes there have been isolated cases of a ruling woman creating havoc in society. But the rule is for humans: men rule, women follow, men wage war and are the more violent sex and kill and rape others, women and children suffer. All historical cannibalism and rape is commited by men. Virtually all serial killers and perverts are men. All terrorists are men. What am I to think?
CanadiaNecro1 7 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1 And all great scientists, innovators, thinkers and business people are men
wamnicho 4 months ago
@wamnicho Not really. Not all. Just most. I can name plenty of women scientists etc. Learn history!
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1 Give me one you dumb cunt and don't tell me Marie curie because she stole the research from her husband. I there's a great female scientist, then it's not more than one or two.
wamnicho 4 months ago
@wamnicho What evidence do you have that Marie Curie was a fraud? You're full of shit. So typical of male supremacists. But lets see...Maria Mitchel was a proffessional astronomer. Tabitha Babbit invented a lot of things, including the circular saw that I know of. Joy Adamson, Jane Goodall, and Diane Fossey are all pretty famous naturalists. Virginia Apgar did some pretty important medical stuff.
How many more do you want? There is a character limit.
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1 these women are just mere footnotes relative to the things men invented. By the sweat of our brow, to great risk to our lives we men, time and again forged civilization, including this very computer you type with. "Important medical stuff" is nothing compared to the great inventions of man. Infact we brought humanity to the very stage where ungrateful women like you can just take our gender for granted and spit on our faces as we let you out of the cave into the safe world we made
MrPillowFort 4 months ago
@MrPillowFort very true, men have built strong safe forts padded with comfy safe pillows. Where is the recognition?
St37One 4 months ago
@MrPillowFort You are so full of it! The circular saw is used in every sawmill around the world to cut lumber. All of the wood products you use were cut with Tabitha's invention. Every 2X4, every board, pole and shake. No man can be named who has invented any one tool that is used so universaly. I gave you perfectly good examples. You disregard them because they were invented by women. I'd like to see you live without all the things women have invented. You'd be in a tar-paper shack!
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
St37One 4 months ago
@St37One What about all the inventions by males then? Nobody truly knows who came up with the ideas of Newton, he drew from every source of his day and came up with new ideas, like a genius. Tabitha Babbit was a similar genius. Genius takes old ides and formulates them into new, practicable ideas.
You don't understand it but you want to demand credit for it. Loser. Tabitha, Newton and Goodall are beyond you.
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
Nobody knows what you are talking about, Including yourself. So just stop trolling.
St37One 4 months ago
@St37One You don't know who the people I'm talking about are. That doesn't make me a troll, that just makes you uneducated.
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
Not true.
St37One 4 months ago
@St37One You originally claimed Mrs.Curie was not a real scientist because she had a husband scientist. I'm still waiting for the evidence there. You dismiss all the examples I gave you without even knowing anything about them. You don't know how invetnion works. Do you even know who Diane Fossey was?
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
That is where you are wrong.
I made no such claim about Mrs. Curie.
Where is my appology?
St37One 4 months ago
@St37One You claimed she stole her information from her husband, and implied that she "doesn't count" as a scientist because of that. You want to tell me why you think the female scientists I named are not equal to male scientists? You want to give me some real facts? I'm not interested in your opinion, I want evidence please.
CanadiaNecro1 3 months ago 2
@CanadiaNecro1
Still wrong.
That was wamnicho who said that, not me.
Its time to start again from the begining.
St37One 3 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1 Besides, the women aren't recognized as scientists, and weren't allowed to enter colleges. That has nothing to do with their abilities. Right on!
Mirani2 2 months ago
@Mirani2 Even know when they enter colleges, they still are not doing anywhere near as well as men in math, sciences, etc.
Most likely, the only reason why there are almost any women in these areas at all is because of affirmative action.
victorsvoice 1 month ago
@MrPillowFort Who is this "we"? Why do you associate yourself with someone because you look the same as them?
Mirani2 2 months ago
@MrPillowFort How can a whole gender be "ungrateful"? some women are very grateful. Others have the same ability as men to invent, they were just encouraged to put it all into the kitchen. My cousin aced the math section of the SATs, her male cousin didn't.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@wamnicho They weren't ALLOWED to be scientists! How does that prove they weren't ABLE to do the work?
Mirani2 2 months ago
@wamnicho How many great black scientists can you name? Less than 5% of famous scientists were black, does that mean blacks were stupid? People like you made the same arguments back then against blacks!
Mirani2 1 month ago
@wamnicho Marie Curie, Maria Montessori, Marilyn Vos Savant (smartest person on Earth)
Mirani2 1 month ago
@CanadiaNecro1 Many rapes are by women, many wars were started by English queens and warrior queens from the Celtic tribes. Don't forget that history can be distorted by the victors.
besides, saying that violence is male nature (or black or short or hairy nature) is just givng whichever group you deem to be violent an excuse.
Furthermore, injustice, not strength or violence, is the cause of problems. Weakness or strength isn't the issue there.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@CanadiaNecro1 Right on! But Females suffer not becaues they are weaker but because they are targeted. they are targeted because people wanted to control birth, and before they knew men were necessary for making babies, they saw the necessary thing as controlling women.
The violence doesnt' come from male nature, but from the violence that comes from frustration when you feel lower than someone and need to subjugate them.
Mirani2 1 month ago
@CanadiaNecro1 Not all men are stronger, and there is NO biological reason for them to be, check out species in which the female is dominant.

@CanadiaNecro1 The west is on the verge of collapse because of feminism and you're spewing this nonsense. And by the way, western countries were built by the patriarchy. And even up to now, men in the west are the ones who make the day to day decisions of western countries.
wamnicho 4 months ago
@wamnicho Actually the West is on the verge of collapse due to poor book keeping by banks and cowtowing to the collective. In other words: we are all doomed due to Jewish greed and Liberals' desire to belong. What the hell does feminism have to do with anything? If men, as you say, are in charge, then it is their fault the world if fucked right? The are the ones making decisions as you say.
CanadiaNecro1 4 months ago
@CanadiaNecro1
What does feminism have to do with anything?
Disenfranchised lesbians, damaged women, and gullible, histrionic, and fearful women are useful pawns for the advancement and entrenchment of socialist and communitarian political agendas. Goodbye nest! Hello beehive! thankyou feminists!
