If you listen to racine and listen to music from other countries that had african slaves such as samba de roda from brazil and rumba from cuba you'll see that they all have the same elements such as african percussion and voices its funny how because this is haitian it has to be negative, based on the misconceptions of vodou.

i discovered this group in the ACP festival in santo domingo about 4 yrs ago... and i almost entered in a trance... it is a music with tremendous magic and beauty,,, my congratulations to this contribution of HAITI to the world... it was my favorite group in the festival...
@mahakavia --nothing wrong with being dominican and loving haiti or haitian people and it's music since both countries have a lot more in common than differences...I am glad you don't let politics keep you from partaking in our music cause that's what this tension---real or imagined is really about.

People often mix sorcelery and voodoo, but voodoo is the strongest religion ever and it's real. The great spirits are doing such a good job by teaching the chosen ones. Ayibobo!!
and then you gonna tell me not to listen to rascine! theres absolutly nothing wrong with it, they talking about haiti getting better and for people to be better so tell me why we cant listen to it . cause it original from haiti thats why we cant listen to it fuck all these people who think voodoo is bad.. rascine all the way babe
@cherizaj Rasin is the Music of Planet Earth.. There is no MTV For Rasin but it is the foundation of it all... God only dances to Mizik Rasin.. He might nod his head to other music, but he only gets off his arse to dance to the spirits of Mizik Rasin. Viv Mizik Loa !
@cherizaj Y are you denfending yourself... let people say what they want. how the french saying goes? Le chien aboie la caravane passe. How can you be a negro haitian and don't respect what is essentially a negro haitian thing.
ancient widom,if only us haitians can stop calling the loas for money and perswonal gains but call them for wisdom and knowledge and understanding and to know the secret of life and helping mankind then haiti will prosper.
azor has ben my greatest disovery this year. As a native of cote d'ivoire, i'm so amazed at how the racine sound is so close to our drum rythm. had a short stay in Port au prince duringcarnaval 2008 and now i cannot get away from rasin music as it sounds like my own.
Tou sak pa konnen, tout sak pran pòz yo pa konnen, tout sak konnen e ki pa vle aksepte. Men youn nan kle libète peyi Ayiti anba men kolon . Mizik (racin).
