There is a crisis of human rights. There are more and more arrests, killings and abuses.
"This is happening in Russia, Canada, the Philippines, Cambodia, Mongolia, Nigeria, the Amazon, all over Latin America, Papua New Guinea and Africa. It is global."
"For thousands of years, we've run the Amazon forests," said Servando Puerta, one of the protest leaders. "This is genocide. They're killing us for defending our lives, our sovereignty, human dignity."
"An aggressive drive is taking place to extract the last remaining resources from indigenous territories," says Victoria Tauli-Corpus, an indigenous Filipino and chair of the UN permanent forum on indigenous issues. "
"In some of the worst violence seen in Peru in 20 years, the Indians this week warned Latin America what could happen if companies are given free access to the Amazonian forests to exploit an estimated 6bn barrels of oil and take as much timber they like. After months of peaceful protests, the police were ordered to use force to remove a road bock near Bagua Grande."

Sir,
It is clear the bias you people have. Injustice do not justifies the sacrificial death of police officers, which, btw, are also natives doing their job, To protect and Serve peaceful citizens, not pro-pol-pot militants. Proto-Militants that you guys are encouraging and financing to continue their doings. I do run a website, but i do not receive a cent from anybody. I just support what makes sense. This, massacre of cops is not justifiable by any means, no matter how you try to put it.

Most of these people and their sons are not going to be poor anymore. Unless they hear self-righteous people (plenty when their wallets are not at risk) and turn Peru in another Venezuela.

Pedro you are just a bullshit artist for the peruvian govt, shame on your & your government the whole world is watching Peru commit genocide against our Indigenous brothers & sisters.
The comment I made was the police had an order from their Govt and they had to act, does that make it right? No, should they side with the people that they vowed to protect? Yes. Even in China, in Tiannanen square 1989, the city Police protested with demonstrators. The army attacked and the rest is history.
Hey Pedro, if you listened, 55 days of peaceful protests, the police were sent in, they shot at the protesters, killed protesters and the protesters reacted to that violence. The ordinary Peruvians are out on the street protesting at Garcia's hardline, the Parliament itself is protesting Garcia's hardline.

How the fukc will the wealth be distributed if those indians keep blocking roads and pipelines? Revolution? They want to revert to their savage ways, killing people in sacrifice to the sun like the Incas did. And those poor, poor indians killed 11 policemen.
It is quite sad to witness this kind of atrocity from the government side... I hope people from Africa will be able to watch this video and learn from it... Putting pressure on the government to revise and/or eliminate all controversial deals that literally put ordinary people into deeper poverty....
Our world needs some serious reforms; otherwise, we are going to live in a scary world FOREVER...

It is the State of Peru who is responsible for the theft of that land.
As long as a State exist, those living in that State do not own their land nor do they can participate in a free market.

The free trade deals were made with the international bank. This is how they get back there money that they lend third world countries.

How the fukc will the wealth be distributed if those indians keep blocking roads and pipelines? Revolution? They want to revert to their savage ways, killing people in sacrifice to the sun like the Incas did. And those poor, poor indians killed 11 policemen.

@starfireucsd There is no revolution. They are just a group of people who think that killing inocent police members, they will get what they want.
