  • who is this beauty?

  • Im waiting for it to die. >.>

  • bwoodsfinest not that much

  • is the full video uploaded anywhere hear on yt???

  • she breaks the line at the wrist its killing me-_-

  • @babytaz3323

I believe every dancer who does this varitation does...you have to...

  • she has a very pretty ballet body and lines.. but her face seems so fake.. so does her personality.. Im sorry but she just seems so empty.

    Very pretty technique though...

  • It is just good.

  • i miss the feelings in her dance..

  • There is no one well-know russian ballet-dancer who respect her, Russian ballerines are divine and I can't understand why there are a lot of people loving this horse because she's so non professional and stupid

  • Cos of PR and money of her lovers of course.

  • Apparently there's a bug on youtube: I've just been watching Keith Richards and they recommend me this vid...???

  • She tries to act, she makes money... but has no soul in her dance.

  • easiest steps you'll ever see a professional dancer do...yet, one of the hardest dances to actually pull off!

  • Volchkova does her makeup in such a way that it reminds me a lot of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo :).

  • i still dont know how to pronounce the composer of this piece... saint-saens

  • it's french, so saint = [sen] and saens has to be pronounced separating a and e (there should be two small dots on the e to indicate that) [sa-en], with the tonic accent on the last syllabe (en) ... don't know if I could explain:)

  • ugh, i really dont like Volochkova...

and the dying swan is not swan lake..

  • No it's not from Swan Lake. It's from the Carnival of the Animals.

  • how can it be from swan lake, if even the composers are different?

  • i feel like is almost too pretty for dying swan

  • you can start ballet any age it's never too late! seriously

  • i love how much emotion she gives, and how flowing her movements are.

  • I hate her. theres just something about her dancing.

  • actually is not a piece of swan lake..it's just a choreography about death hehe...

  • its.. ok-ish

if you want take a look at Pavlova and Plisetskaya performances, which are completely different class, other weight cathegory if you will

  • that was beautiful... her expressions were so powerful!

  • jajajajajajaja parese una garza toda flaquita

  • so is this not from the original swan lake?

is it a whole other ballet

  • Yep. It's a whole other ballet. The music is by Saint-Saens, not Tchaikovsky, and the choreography is Folkine, not Petipa. Folkine wanted to be almost the antithesis of "Swan Lake".

  • this is the dying swan

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, you're so good and very lucky to have the opportunity such as money to skate. You know what, I dreamt of being a ballerina or a figure skater before but that dream is impossible for my age doesn't fit anymore. As for now I am still a student at the age of 13. Wish I could learn skating or ballet if time and opportunity would let me.

  • I started ballet at 14 and I am already on pointe and I just turned 16. It's never too late.

  • Ive just started ballet and im 14 ive been dancing ballet for 1 year - When / How did you get on pointe ? IM DESPARATE TO START

  • Your school probably offers a pre-pointe or demi-pointe class. Ask your teacher or director. It's like a class and you do exericises for your feet and ankles. Just ask asap and you'll be up in no time!

  • Oh yeah and I started ballet in the month of june (2007) and pre-pointe in january (2008).

  • Do you think i will be able to start at my age ? Lots of ballet dancers have started when they were 1 or something - Ive only started when i was 14 - Do you think this will affect my progress in any way ?

  • I think if you have passion and determination, anything is possible. I don't think it's too late for you to start. I'm not trying to sound egotistical but I am by far the best dancer in my class and I started this late, you can do it, too!

  • Thank you so much for your support . I love the way that you are hjappy to help me. I am so much more confident to ask my teacher whether to start pointe work. Thank you so much .

  • Of course! Good luck <3

  • ...Y bueno Bolshoi {grande} le quedo ch1co...

    Que gambas fuertes...todo un monumento!!!

  • Very very pleasing to the heart, the eyes and the ears, merci beaucoup ma belle.

  • I cannot criticize her technique, but she doesn't really have the "feel" of Odette--she doesn't move with the delicate music, and just seems a little off in this role :(

  • The Dyng Swan is not part of The Swan Lake. It was composed for Anna Pavlova and w/ Saint-Saens`music.Pavolova was very much interested in expressing feelings through ballet.

The Swan Lake`s music is by Tchaikovsky.

  • Plisetskaya owns this ballet and no one else can compare!!!

  • wouldn't be so definite, but in this case

    definitely Plisetsakaya >>>>>> Volochkova

  • I've never seen her Volochkova dance before. Now I understand why she was fired from the Bolshoi, haha!! Joke... But I don't really think she is a great ballerina: she is not very musical, she is too cold and she is not very delicate either. At least in this role, maybe she could do better...

  • im learning this dance..but somehow its kinda different..lol.but the music is the same

  • This is a different dying swan to Tchaikovski's one. This bird belongs to some French bloke with an unpronounceable name. You need to edit your description.

  • saint-saens should get a lot more credit than that. "french bloke??"

  • This isn't a separate piece from Swan Lake; it's The Dying Swan. Music by Saint-Saëns (part of Le Cygne), and choreographed by Fokine.

  • The swan in Camille Saint-Saens carnival of animals isn't dying..!!!?

  • the numer is from "carnivale" ;)

  • I don't think this is Swan Lake...

I've listened to the whole thing.

  • anna pavlova - so beautiful (:

i want to dance like her.

  • Anna Pavlova is beautiful too, but it's not her. Anyway, wonderful.

  • oh yeah,

    How embaressing.

    My favourite "dying swan"

    Is uliana,

    She so mesmerising:)

  • creepy...

  • XD Hey did u know Mr.Midnight books used the dying swan as their story "the dead are dancing" !!!

  • ..wonder who she is.She's almost perfect!

  • Oh! She is soooooo graceful!!! Love her style!~^.^~

  • A-mazing.

  • my fave dying swan!

  • I was in Carnival of the Animals and Ferdinand the bull with Colorado Ballet company and I was Ferdinand...My first solo I was sooo....excited but I don't know where to find a video, sorry!!

  • Do you by any chance have any other part of the "carnival of the animals" that you could uplowd? can't seem to find it anywhere :~~

Thank u for this part anyway.

  • i like it she looks so comfortable and graceful in it a lot of ballerinas look awkward doing this dance but this is pretty... to be completely honest the anime Princess Tutu got me interested in ballet and i regret not doing it when i was young but i've been looking up all the dances from the show and this is one of my favorites

  • wasn't this the first piece ever to be done on pointe shoes? amazing piece! a classmate of mine at school did this for our dance concert...

  • yes yes okay i know that it is not from swan lake... when i said "a seperate piece from swan lake" i meant that it had absolutely NO connection to the full length ballet... hence the use of "seperate from".. im glad that you are all enjoying it but please stop telling me what i already know

  • Then I'd have to suggest that you change the description to include the name of the dancer, the choreographer, and the composer of the music. Anyone should be able to tell that Saint-Saens isn't Tchaikovsky.

  • Yes, this is the "swan" variation from Carnival of the Animals, often preformed alone from the rest of that ballet.

  • This is not from Swan Lake

It's the dying swan, music Camille Saint-Saens

    She's really good, though

  • It was pretty but I'm not a big fan of hers. There's too much controversy around her for me.

  • I'm not familiar with this dancer. What kind of controversy?

  • She was accused of being overweight (at 110lbs) and was involved in a bitter feud with the Bolshoi. One of her dance partners said he had been injured after having to lift her and Volochkova claimed that the Bolshoi were conspiring against her. Eventually she was sacked.

  • Yikes! I hate ballet for this reason; unfortunately I still love it though too. I've dealt with the same thing since I was about 14 (of course I was actually fat, not like this waify dancer). Thanks for the info though. :)

  • She's Anastasia Volochkova, beautiful.

  • this was beautiful! where did you get it?
