FFV is my personal favorite FF. It was the first game i ever played on my Gameboy Advance and as such it holds a special place within me. And it is such an underrated FFV since its often overshadowed by FFVI.
In my country those new FF fans always talk about FFVII.... it's just too bad that they've missed the real good ones such as V and VI. Some who play Dissidia all the time know about Cecil, Bartz, Terra, but when I mention Rydia, Boko (I really like this chocobo XD) or Locke, they always give me the look like "who the heck are you talking about"......
why you did this to me? now i remember the best days in my life playing ff5 and 6 with my best friend and now those days has gone and it makes me so sad... :(
RPG games nowadays suck. PRG games in the past, such as FFIV, FFV, FFVI, Tree of Mana, and Chrono Trigger do not have beautiful graphics, but they have excellent music and story plots, and they are very educational too.
@ piromaniac9999 -You're an actual moron, how can you hate the musical score in FF7 it's typical Uematsu, if you hate the FF7 score then you must hate the FF6 score aswell 'coz they are very fucking similar, eg - The music in the cave with the esper in at the beginning of FF6 sounds very similar to the shinra theme, all the games are great ; they may have flaws as all games do, I think you are just criticising 7 to appear "non-conformist" to the main stream, it's a great game so get over it.

Its not the first fucking 3d game,heck kings field came out in like:1994-1995 ish?
Sure it was not so good in 3d graphics and the lighting was kind of messed up but it was one of the first first person rpg games to come out in 3d,if not the first.
@Iceberg211989 ff7 is nowhere near as good as ff6 or ff4 actually,in fact its nothing special.
Some of the reasons:sephiroth himself-s transformation in the library from a sane man to a insane man is pretty clichè and yet they keep bragging how evil he is when he isn-t.
He is more like a victom of a government who was pretty cruel,if someone experimented on you,you too would go batshit insane.
Problems,not once do you see him,all you really see is flashbacks of him posing and that-s it

ff9 also had good music and decent fighting system.
I hated the stupid characters in ff7 and hated the stupid story hated the music and hated the fucking script.
The materia system was alright.
It had good ideas but then they fucking threw the story in circles and i looked at it and said:WTF? it doesn't explain anything.
It's totally incomprehensible.
ff8 has better characters but a terrible job system and is very linear and takes forever to get to the story.
I hated the junction system

People are so fucking obsessed with ff7 and emocloud emo sephiroth emo vincent.
Frankly,i'm sick and tired of people bragging about emo chidlren and emoff7 and emoff8.
Games that aren't even good in general or are lacking to a greater part of good scripting and game developement.
Its all graphics and repetition nowadays and 30 min to 1 hour long videos.
Man i miss the old days
Best ff so far have been:ff4-ff5-ff6 ff9 was not bad at all,it had good character developement.
