Loved the idea of making an embellishment out of a child's old t-shirt. What a great idea. Now you can always look back and remember that fabric. Nice video!
These are wood shadow boxes and they can be painted any color you wish. I use them as a way to display my jewelry samples. I use scrapbook paper as a way to decorate the background. Very fun!
Never thought to use the shadow boxes for scrapbooking pages. Definitely will have to get some of those. As to the comments about Michael's framing department--my daughter got married this past year and I took all of the photos to Michael's to get framed (there is no local framing store here). The selection was wonderful and the gentleman that helped me out was very patient. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
It would be better to patronize your local framing store. Michael's drives many local framers out of business and their work isn't as good. If you really want to preserve memories and have keepsakes, get quality framing from a local framer. I've compared prices with their coupons and find that even with their "50 %" off coupons, the local framer was cheaper and did a MUCH better job. Try it and see.
I agree w/ you AnnaJar1 - the quality of frames at MIchaels is not great ... there are good ones - but I find allot of them to be flimsy in the back for closing up. Local framing would be preferable - but I can never find coupons in my location - so it can get quite pricy. A good thing about professional framers is that you can get sized matting. If local framers could try and compete a bit more with Michaels I would definately switch to them.
I took two pictures to Michael's to be framed and was given a price for what I selected. I backed out at the last minute when I saw some of their work being given to a customer. I then went to a local frame shop to see what price I could get from them. They were cheaper without the supposed 50% off coupon from Michael's. And I feel good about doing business with the local guy too. This guy's work is so good that I've had relatives mail him stuff to frame!
Scrapysassy1959 - I agreed with you. I wish Australia have Michaels. They are so many of us love this things. Pls Michael consider to open your stores in Australia. There us a lot of potentials.
I love the idea!! I think I'll start this as a new tradition! Thanks for sharing!
