I don't think they should make an Avatar 2. It might wreck the Avatar franchise, and I wouldn't take the chance - it would be hard to surpass the first.
This movie made almost three billon dollars, that's probably about ten times whatever the budget and marketing cost were. Plus, the sequels are going to be cheaper to make because the technology it will take to make them they have already invented with the first film. Like most sequels to blockbuster movies they will likely make more money than this one. One hell of an investment on the part of 20th Century Fox to give to James Cameron.
The budget of this movie got blown way out of proportion. It didn't cost over 400,000,000 it probably didn't even cost over 300. The truth is no one really knows how much this movie cost not even the producers because it took a huge amount of money to develop the technology that went into making the movie, a lot of which that went unaccounted for. Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End still holds the record for the most expensive movie ever made at $300,000,000.
i really felt i was part of the movie. i know some say it in a way for the sake of it, but i really felt part of the environment watching it in 3d.....i wont forget it.
This movie was AMAZING !!!! There's not enough words to describe how much i loved it. James Cameron is truly a great filmmaker. BEST FILM EVER !!!!!!!
Hahaha, those box office predictions about Avatar always make me laugh. 'It'll PROBABLY earn it's money back'. Loser. It's earned it's money back like six times over...
this is not about native americans, this is about africa period. why because africans when they never descovered other parts of the world, they all looked the same. just like the navi do, their soundtrack i african, their clothing is kenyan, their plants are ugandan, some of the words are swahili. Ths is exactly what happened when the ex africans had come to destroyed their own people
wow that dude was like "it probably will make it's money back" well he was way off.. at 2.24 billion is still going he wasn't even close.. dvd sales and stuff is still on the way
Yes, it can make a load of money... :p Its so great!! I will buy this movie and watch it many and many of times. I went to see it on the second day.. and there where a lot of people in the theater. :-)
I see through all the hype and through all the bullshit and know what this REALLY is.
The hype isn't about a movie. It's for a new, expensive camera/projector process. With loads and loads of money going into Cameron's Swiss bank account.
This is not a movie. It's an infomercial for Cameron's proprietary gear. Much like the way George Lucas gets mad bank from all the royalties that his THX system generates.
It made 6 times its budget!
