I finally found some rugged pliers that - when used together with a massive hammer - can actually chop off 1/2" off the bottom. SWR on Channel 1 is still a tad higher than on Channel 20; but I'm really close and the clarity/reception I'm getting is getting better and better. This method works!
When installing the antenna into the base, raise the antenna 1/4 of an inch then tighten the screws. Your should get a much better reading when that is done.
@fuckgovernment123 Well, that would NOT work in my truck. It all depends on where your SWR readings are. As I explain in the vid, if SWR on Channel 1 is LOWER than on Channel 20, you have to CUT the antenna to make it shorter. If SWR on Channel 1 is HIGHER than on Channel 20, you have to RAISE the antenna and you don't have to cut anything. Each truck is different.
