@606revo According to my dad (who introduced me to Idlewild) it's a reference to to a quote by Gertrude Stein (namechecked in the verse) who was a famous, American, lesbian authoress and who described her girlfriend thus: 'A rose is a rose is a rose'. So presumably 'Roseability' is the 'ability' to be as beautiful (and generic) as a rose, which according to Roddy and co, is no longer enough.
idlewild are still going strong, with 6 good albums and in my opinion not 21 bad song there amazing, my number one band since my childhood...not that im that old to start with. There not super big because they dont cout max selling numbers - thats a bonus to them unlike so many of these crappy 'indie/post rock' bands.... long live Idlewild
