  • the doctor at the end had a colorful vocabulary

maybe he should rapping about rappers

  • Melyssa Ford stays talking about sacrifices, just be a strong minded person, thats all.

  • where TIP go

  • This is one of the most embarcing programs and points of black history. Looking at this I see why don Imus said what he said. This is not just a panel of hip hop

this is a panel of socalled black america know or not "so called" they picked the biggest misfits they could find that where dumb enuff. I am black and i think blacks need to go back strugglen for a while. The strongest black america was pre civil rights era. thats my peace let me know how you feel

  • Sinces when do Nelly speak for hip hop?

  • @Iluv2bblk theyre attacking commerical wackness nelly speaks for that. unfortunatly not alot of folks no about the real

  • All the work in the femanist movement and equal rights and women still talk about what men are doing "to" them, wake up sisters, you're doing it to yourselves. Women have all the power in the world to change perception as proved through the femanist movement but the fact is they're are many women out there who like to be objectified because in the end they hold the power. When a women does no more than show some skin and gets evrything a man has in his pockets who's the real victim?

  • AMEN DR WHATEVER YOUR NAME IS!!! WHOOT

  • people wanna talk about how rappers are disrespectin black women but aint nobody makin these chicks do wat they do even tho that dnt make it right nobodys makin u do nothin u dnt want to do

  • Thats why Nicki MInaj walking around with a fat fake ass thinking its cute smh Im starting not wanting to rap anymore but I love it a lot. I just dont know If I can take the pressure but maybe I can change the game. Just maybe & Nellys trying to make his point justifiable for his lifestyle cause he knows he's wrong.

  • I miss Pac

  • Melyssa ford can get this Dick in her mouth, Wow sje's an actress now TSK i only saw her in "love 4 sale"

  • 'At least with white women you could turn the channel and see them doing other things' thats applying you cant see black women doing other things. That is nothing but an excuse. If you want to see black women doing other things, turn the channel and watch Oprah, Michelle Obama, Tyra Banks, Angela Bassett, or Condolleeza Rice. These 5 black women have made it by making their own destiny and are 5 of the leaders for black women.

  • A) Melyssa Ford is not only HOT, but she's poised...very,VERY sexy.

    B) Nelly refuses to accept any responsibility and yells a lot and doesn't say a whole lot. This is who we're upholding, really??

  • @Blactor nelly is a fucking idiot and im black ive never liked his music and all he cares about is his fame and money, he doeant care about black people or women

  • @bullldogs004 yeah nelly is fucking defending for himself not hip hop, he's like a dog barking at anyone, like a barbaric idiot

  • Nelly is a goddamn hypocrite, I feel what he's saying but when I see some of his videos he's just fuckin himself

  • Dr. Dyson knows how to use his words well

  • everyone claps at "weve been set back 400 years". Shows exactly what is important in that room. sympathy. Its been 150 years ago. that is no excuse to act the way you do, if your always making white folk comments. Rap did this to you, not us, dont blame us for this one

  • @stitchmorg I don't agree, you are making a blanket statement about black people. Not all black people believe that white people are completely to blame. Although racism ended 150 years ago, when did racism end? Overt racism (Jim Crow laws, segregation) against black people has declined with in the last 30 years. Now we have to deal with covert racism (stereotyping) which is what this segment is dealing with. So...white people have no blame whatsoever, I think not.

  • lmao look at how nelly and t.i. look at melyssa... they probably thinking "u bullshitin"

  • fuck all the bs my lil sister listens to rap shes 13 but she knows like TI said she dont have to deal with the artist she gotta worrie about me and my dad she kissed a boi got grounded for months and she knows a kiss aint worth 3 months freedom ,she gonna think 1st next time ,we raise our family not a artist period

  • It makes no sense to say that "money ruined hip hop". Today's fans want corny, so corny they get. Simple and plain. Arrested Development when triple platinum in the early 90's talking about healthy living and spirituality. Ice Cube (90-94) sold multi-platinum talking about political issues four years in a row. KRS sold. Ice T sold. Today? AD barely sells, Cube is making family movies. and hip hop is dominated by corny artists like Nelly and Soulja Boy. Demand = Supply. The market clears.

  • @34Illmatic then i ask u. where did this need fo corny and bullshit come from? was it really just people's minds changing, or do u not think its the industry selling images that translate into things people want, so they can sell more of it? theres a real interesting video called "the merchants of cool" that talks about just that. how corporations find out what kids want, then turn it into their own material that they can manipulate and make money off of. its complicated watch the film

  • @stone1free1 : Merchants of Cool is a great documentary. Frontline is one of my favorite shows. Yes, there certainly is an element of what you're talking about. However, I sincerely believe people today just want corny material. It could be technological change (people have less attention span); I don't know. But the late 80s early 90s was a higher place socially. Funky beats with lyrics meaning something. Things go in trends though up and down. Early hip hop was party and bullshit too.

  • People have bad taste. That's what destroyed hip hop these days. People today have bad taste.

  • I Love Dr. Dyson the way he articulates himself nd how fast he be talkin with all those analogies and what not i love it, the thoughts just pop in his head and come out his mouth just as fast nd unlike majority of people it actually makes sense!! and Melyssa Ford is freakin gorgeous!!

  • i love phat asses

  • Its about the commodification of the black female body!!!!! the equation of women with their BODY PARTS!!!

  • all that being in vids and selling drugs to go school is BS, there is this thing called financial assistance, ppl use that excuse to buy things that they want instead of better things like an education

  • Based on what I've experienced, men also expect black women to be what they have seen in videos. They want us to be skinny with largre breast and asses. They want us to look, dress and act like video girls. Til this day, I get a lot of shit from guys because I don't fit that image.

  • Glutious Infamous on Maximus LOL

  • Ebony ectasy infurled in coffee flesh!!! I'm dyin over here!!! That is exactly what that woman is. Shorty is a goddess for real..

  • @darksunridah That's such a bar lol great pick up line eh fellas ?

  • Melyssa Ford really can't say anything cuz she poses nude infront of the tv and she has calendars and other stuff with her butt and only her butt on the cover.

  • She also has escalated her career past the other countless females you see doing the same thing...in the club or on tv or whatever. She has a voice for example, I've never even heard Amber Rose speak.

  • @acookangel did you not listen to ANYTHING she said?

  • Hmmm, the old i had to take my clothes off to go to college routine.

  • I can't knock the sister for the choices she had to make. I think if we can't produce constructive alternatives for these women to pursue higher education without "performing" we can't say shit. What options are we offering for people?

  • whos this girl at the start?

  • This so lame. Go protest Playboy and Maxim and Victoria's Secret and rock videos and then come talk to me.

  • victoria secret promote's undergarmets how esle would they do that without showing skin have it on top of their clothes

  • yea u sound real stupid u most be from the south?

  • No I'm not now go learn how to read

  • u learn 2 use knowledge and stop bring an igind idiot ! rock videos dont talk bad about there women ! just dumb rappers like u like

  • Love thy neighbor... is a community thing... The "household" as Nelly put it can't be the scapegoat because childrent have to leave the "house" and enter the real world. He is just silly....

  • I agree that love SHOULD be a community thing. But the value of love is something that should be taught from birth in the home. The community had to learn it's values from somewhere. The community doesn't birth/raise kids, Parents do. I know I learned my values from my a variety of places. But it started in my home, which should be the MAIN learning place for value/moral education.

  • Comment removed

  • I hear ya', but we can't discount the power of community/peer pressure & use the age old republican debate that home parenting is the answer to all problems. I believe parenting is paramount but not the exclusive answer. When I said "love" in that sense, it isn't just a sentimental thing, because if U really love someone you'll fight for them. And U don't fight for someone just by saying "get Ur act together at home and then I'll listen." Personal accountability is missing when Nelly speaks....

  • hmm, idk. I've always hated the term "peer pressure". I've always been taught to be an individual. People know right from wrong. If something doesn't sit well with me, i'm not going to do, no matter how much "pressure" I receive from others. So I really can't relate to that. People have the ability to discern right from wrong. Above home and community teachings, I hold individuals responsible. I see vids, but I can discern that from real life as well.

  • Lol, I hear U... but when speaking about the troubles/issues of "others" our personal upbringings will always be different. So we must not focus on the differences. It sounds like U were fortunate 2 be raised in a good situation which is something many youth can't say. I'm saying that we can't dismiss the "less fortunate" in that sense because their home situation isn't as fortunate as our own. I'm saying that we must loving things "outside" their home to help their "inside" situation, thats all

  • Ah, I see. Didn't get that from the first comment you wrote. For those less fortunate, I believe those in that person's life should step up and do their job. But as far as music and tv goes, there's positive and negative in those forms of entertainment. I feel the moral teachings there abide with the home and community. Those who exploit the negative just because... I do believe it's wrong. But if someone's just telling their story, I think it should be heard.

  • Yeah, I wish more people thought like us/that. I agree that if someone's telling their story and being honest about it, it should be heard. I love Hip-Hop, but just don't trust that Nelly at all... All of the greats had a certain sense of passion in their eyes... Nelly doesn't seem genuine to me. (But of course I could be wrong)

  • I've never been a fan of hip hop. So I really don't know alot about those of the past or present. But the individual artist knows what's truth. Those just creating an image should feel some conviction, I think, about what they do. But again, I can't say who's being real and who's not.

  • I saw that u deleted the comment you sent me, not sure y. But i'm not saying that the community isn't responsible somewhat for showing moral support. My point is, whether or not any one else does it, the parents should, if not any one else. They're the ones the brought life into the world, not the community. Though parents and the community share responsibility. I just feel more of that should/does fall on the parents.

  • Lol, I didn't remove it for any serious reason..... I just noticed I had called you "good brutha" and didn't know if you were male or female, so I took it down. I totally get & respect where you're coming from and find it extremely positive when people can voice a difference of opinion in a constructive way. Peace.

  • Nelly looks vexed!

  • AYO! Dr. Dyson would've been a rapper if he were 20-30 years yonuger. He's got that gift of gab FOR REAL. See how Melyssa Ford was blushing? Dr. Dyson... G STATUS!

  • man what really fucked up hip hop was money

  • An artists only responsibility as an ARTIST is to represent themself and their passion.

  • I dont fully agree, a Media artist who is having a greater affect on massess, has a bigger responsibility then just filling his own pockets by depicting any form of art he thinks sells. There should be line, for eg people love porn, and what not, doesnt mean that in future, they should have music videos full of porn, even if they make it more creative...thats just absurd. Lot of ppl find art in insanity...it could be there passion..

  • Melyssa ford sexy.

  • @jabbaro12 of course she is sexy!! thats not the point!
